I think I like these non-live shows alot better.

there should be a most haunted were the fans get to go to a haunted location and then they get filmed, but actually get to walk round, not just sit in a hall like they do on the LIVE live shows...which arn't really live. that would be fun :D

Erm actually...that's a little thing called...the earth moving ever so slightly, so much that we can't feel it but enough to disturb things...as it often does you know...tectonic plates and all that...stuff randomly falls over all the time.
That's what discovery channel is for.

Obviously there's always going to be stuff I can never explain...hence why on the "religion" front I am Agnostic...because nobody has the right to dispute [as in say a definite yes or no] something that...erm...heavy. But sadly, when I watch Most Haunted...most of the stuff on that programme has an obvious rational and scientific explanation...sorry ghost fans :\.
Most photographs of "ghosts" are either obvious fakes or the light [or lack thereof] playing tricks on the camera.

john edward is beliveable, but that other guy isn't its clear that the guy has spoken to the family before and know what he's going to say, whats worrying is that he helps the police by "talking to the dead victim to find out who killed the victim"......americans :rolleyes:

The show is set up to entertain people who have an interest in it.
The more 'serious' programs appear on some of the discovery channel.

Usually they are quite helpfull though.

i'm still undecided. i've seen one so called medium and she was crap. couldn't have been more wrong. but i'm going to see derek nearer christmas so i'll draw my conclusions then. :) my initial feeling is that he isn't a load of bollocks.
i'm more sceptical now of the show than him. that whole spoon flying incident all seems a bit staged to me, even trying to cause a bit of conflict with their so-called expert on the show to be seen as the sceptic.

I think he thinks he can connect with ghosts. A lot of the time when he brings someone up that thing at the bottom of the screen says 'no information could be found of this person blah blah blah'
But then sometimes he gets it spot on.

I adore Most Haunted... But I agree, Derek is a knob. A very rich knob. :unsure: I think it's strange how everyone on the team seems to believe him... :confused:
I haven't got Sky but I have seen a couple of the DVD's of the show (they are not my DVD's though)

He makes me laugh, especially when he gets taken over by spirits.

I agree. However I do believe there is something about science we don't understand. Something to do with the environment around us some how recording events and then playing them back under certain situations. It's a theory that is always being researched.
I don't believe in actual ghosts with personalities though. So I don't agree with the spirtism side of things. eg physic mediums

Yeah I believe in the whole "replays of the past" I think I've mentioned it before? How certain materials can act as natures tape recorder or something? Not exactly ghosts...just images that can't see, hear, feel, speak...anything. They're just images of stuff gone by.
I think it's a load of bollocks when people "communicate" with the dead. It's easy to fool people though. And the whole ouija board thing..hmm maybe in that case people are messing with energies they don't understand or can't comprehend but I don't believe you can contact your dead great Auntie through a board with letters on it...

If you mean the one at Maes Artro then it would've been easy, we watched it because we go to Shell Island on holiday quite often and have been to the base several times. All the names that the guy spouted off were easily found on the website of the place....so he wouldn't have had to look too far.
Though the moving of the table was pretty impressive, even if it was on castors they all had just their fingertips on it. I dunno that's the only part that gives me a doubt, the rest was just silly.

They all trooped down to Derby for the summer solstice thing-ma-jig. Derek went into Jorrocks (a pub) and was shown a skull they found there years ago. He went into a massive story about how it was a girl who lived in the 1800's and how she had been killed. The skull was actually found to have come from the 12 century or something....I peed my pants. Derek is my idol. :cool:

Its a 7 night stint of live broadcasts and I'm loving the sheer entertainment element of the show.
There's been a tessler machine, and they've been getting messages from a box that rapidly goes through radio frequencies and getting really excited when a random word matches their question.
Its all good fun, and I think they're getting really desperate to 'prove' in the existence of the paranormal. When it first started it was quite factual, and I enjoyed watching it for the science side of it, but now its descended into almost 'car crash tv'
I do however, believe in some form of the paranormal in that things happen and there is no logical explanation, and from personal experience, but the show is now just purely for entertainment in my opinion.
Apologies if there are people out there who do take the programme seriously, I come in peace :)

There's quite a good American one called Paranormal State about most hauntedy stuff. But it's actually good.
Apparently when I was little I used to talk to "Harry". Mum found out that this dude Harry had lived in our house yeeeeeeears before us and died in her bedroom, where I used to talk to him. I don't actually remember talking to Harry...
