I love the white stripes...

I'd say my favourite album by them is White Blood Cells... I think it is their most diverse. But one of my favourite songs by them is Jimmy the Exploder from their first album... I love the guitar in it, I just wanna get up and dance.. :D

Oh and I love hello operator from De Stijl

Yes, I agree. WHOTE BLOOD CELLS is their best album. Although ELEPHANT has been the best album of the last year (together with ABSOLUTION). Ummm the version of GOOD TO ME of Brendan Benson is very good, too. Ther original song is very pop but the version of WS is very rock and harder.

Sorry for my English, it´s HORRIBLE!!!!!!

We play 7 nation army with my band and we exchange our instruments on it.... its a simple & genius song... i have no rythme and i can play the drums on it! Ppl even told us we play it better than the white stripes (which cant be right, we know... they obligatory play it the best!) but i think they say that cos i add things with the drums and we're 3 in the band and we play it twice its speed. (which is the perfect speed for pogos)

lol he used to be an upholsterer. But surely an argument couldn't be that severe after all they are divorced, something must've happened there lol.

Anyone going to see them in Dublin? They're playing Marley Park later this month, going with a bunch of friends who are OBSESSED, White Stripes and them is like me and Muse lol. Well, they're supposed to be amazing live so I'm looking forward to it. Tickets are bloody expensive though! €60!

Bought this DVD earlier. Watched it as soon as I got in.

The beginning is so breathtaking the first ten songs, often blended into another, simply fly by. The DVD is as minimalist as the band, the image is rough and fuzzy and there are no extras. The music and stage prescence is uneblievable. I don't think there is any other band out there at the moment who are quite like The White Stripes live. I think they can compare with Muse the way they transform their songs into something else when they're played live..for examples watch Hotel Yorba (which is more energetic and heavier than on record) and Hardest Button to Button (which features no recurring bassline, Jack fills the gaps and makes up with some really odd pitch bending and pitchshift-fuckage).

The performance, direction and everything is top notch, but it'll drag toward the end when they start playing the slower first album tracks unless youre a hardk0re stipes fan

I listend to the album today on the radio. I didn't realy like it. i think, even though they've added a lot of different instruments, it somehow came out as being even more minamalistc than the last two albums. I didn't find it very inspiring, and it was rather repetative.

If you want to hear the album then it should be repeated at 3am this thursday, australian time. So deduct as many hours as necessary for your time zone.

I got 'Elephant' as a present because I really liked 'Seven Nation Army' and 'The Hardest Button To Button'.

It was very dissapointing to find out that all the other songs on the album were absolutly dreadful. I decided copy the 2 good songs on my computer musi library, and then sell the album to the used CD store.

It was something like, two month salary for the regular citizens. They say the band doesn't decide the price --- I hope whoever set it, will be aware of the 'proper' price.

Yeah, I told someone about it at my work because I couldn't believe it. They asked if it was a free show. I'm sure they wouldn't charge a lot. At least I hope not.

Their Canadian tour is so extensive. I'm sure a lot of people are happy that they are going to all these cities though. Most bands only play the obvious Canadian cities like Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto.

The current population is just over 6,000.

I've got the Leak. Me bad :LOL:Oh my. Butbut, I was just soo excited.
Her excuse was rather stupid, but honestly, I don't think it ruined the music industry. Musicians makes more money from their goods than CDs, because record companies take most of the profit. I've never bought White Stripes albums, but I have all the mp3s, listen to them all the time, and pay to see their concerts, buy t-shirts, etc. What's the problem ...

Personally, I don't know how much I appreciate I'm able to download music, because I got to know so many songs I wouldn't have listened if I had to buy.

And, I missed them because I was too late. :(

Icky Thump is so popular! I hear it every 30 min on the radio. I like it, but it must be annoying for those who don't. It's not the best work BGM either.

If they don't release Conquest then they are utterly fucking mad. I was a fan of Get Behind Me Satan but you can just tell that it was their dodgy album since it was too absurd. This is a proper return to old White Stripes style.

And shall be seeing them later today!

it's the record companies who pay for the records to be made, which you heard and then decided to buy the merch and go to the shows....
hopefully soon the necessity for a record company to fund decent quality records and to sell them will be a thing of the past, but at the mo....

i don't think it's ruining the music industry, it's just it's become out of date, but people have to appreciate that they take more than they give and record companies aren't necessarily evil, for them to support their bands and look for new ones.... they like everyone in the music industry, require money to do so.

They were fucking incredible. Half the crowd were poser fucks and didn't know half the lyrics but I was there singing along and dancing like a prat. I'm really gutted they didn't play more off of the new album. :(
