It's a pretentious, wanky and shit term that nobody given that description actually uses.

Anyway, listen to Boards of Canada. I'd call Venetian Snares breakcore, not IDM.

As has been said, definitely Boards Of Canada. Geogaddi is a good place to start with their albums, and I highly recommend the Hi-Scores EP.

Tags don't always give much accuracy, seeing as they are user-defined.

Try the experimental/electronic thread and ignore all the mainstream "Daft Punk" suggestions
