I bought Morning View and (rebought...) Make Yourself as one of those two-in-one packs from Fopp for a miniscule 6 quid yesterday...

6 quid.

I love what I've heard of the new stuff...

Just downloaded "Dig". I'm surprised the whole album hasn't leaked yet. It's a semi slow song, can't really compare it to any of their others. Not too dissimilar to the styles of songs on Morning View.

Have the album already but I am buying it cos it's worth it. 3rd best Incubus album imo, it is a really REALLY good album though. A Kiss To Send Us Off is now my new fave Incubus song, Anna Molly rules, Light Grenades (the song) is hyperness :D, and Pendulous Threads i think is really good too. Earth To Bella is a good two-parter as well. Whole album's decent, well done to Incubus yet again!

I think I need to listen to it more to appreciate it. It's not really up there with the other albums yet. Time will tell.

I LOVE THIS NEW ALBUM!!! It sounds like Incubus again. I don't know what Crow Left was, some kind of blip I guess, but this is what it's all about. Dig is just too gorgous for words. I cried when I heard it, cos I've got my band back it would seem. :$

From the tracks I've heard this is certainly a diff album to previous albums yet again. They've stepped backwards a little. The tracks feel very kinda straight simple rock melodies again. Its got a twang of crow in it but the production of this album is way diff to crowd so obv its not the same.

yada yada [/pretentious bollocks]

I think the best track ive heard so far is anna molly actually

Hmmmm, I think my preference order is pretty much the same except I would have light grenades before Science on the list... Personal opinion though, I'm just not a huge fan of the whole rap metal thing. Though I really Love Anti-Gravity from Science.

Probably a few from the new album. I'd say probably Dig, Anna Molly. From other albums, probably Megalomaniac, Drive. Not being to a show, I'm not really sure of what they normally play.

They always play Wish You Were Here, Drive, Pardon Me and they'd do Talk Shows on Mute and Megalomaniac I'd imagine. They usually try and do something from Science as well. New Skin or Vitamin seem to be the favourites. I was lucky enough to see them play Anti-Gravity Love Song though, which was awesome.

No, Wish You Were Here is an original of theirs. To get into their older stuff, check out the albums Make Yourself and Morning View first, then try Science. Their sound changes with every album, and Science is early Incubus, so it's really different and kind of rap metal sounding, but there are a few amazing tracks on it, like Anti-Gravity Love Song.

firstly, Are You In is the worst song in incubus' history (even more rubbish live), and secondly, muse hasn't been as predictable as usual the past year or so, which is good when you go see them more than once ;)

I am from Denver, Colorado and my friend and I are going to Switzerland and Milan for spring break at the end of march and are desperate for Incubus tickets. I know the shows are sold out (we waited too long) and I have no idea how I could go about getting some. I know if i was trying to get tickets here I could look on myspace or message boards and see if anybody is selling any but honestly it's really hard to do when everything in Dutch!! Do you guys have any ideas how I could go about finding 2 tickets to either of these shows? I will pay like up to $200 and this is like the only forumn I've found online in English to post in.

Going to see them in just about 3 weeks :)

They're playing a rather small venue.. 3500 capacity.
Tickets took a while to sell out cos it wasn't widely published at first.

But then about a month ago they did sell out and people are now desperately looking for tickets while the ones who have extras sell it for over 4 times original price, it really sickens me :(

Anyway, I'm glad I got mine in time and they better do Drive acoustic :D

My dad likes some modern music, and that's ok, so long as he doesn't say he likes stuff by Incubus. Cos that's just too scary. It's different if he says he likes... the new Paul Weller song or something

Dooooo it. If you go it'll be class tunes from a good live band, with a very very pretty singer. You can't tell me you would consider missing it when it's got all that going for it...

Ril

I would say to start with Morning View, cos it's a nice way to ease yourself into them, and then get Make Yourself and Light Grenades, then go on to get Science, which is a much heavier, and quite different sound because it's much earlier.

*edits* And woooooooo, me and my sister now have tiiiiickets. ^_^
Which songs are they most likely to play at a gig? So I can sing along.

Ummmm, from the New album they'll play Anna Molly and Dig for sure. They'll play Pardon Me and Drive from Make Yourself, Probably Circles, Wish You Were Here and Warning from Morning View, and they'll play something from Science too, which is likely to be Vitamin or New Skin.

Those are the tracks I reckon are pretty much certain to be in their set.

Seen Incubus in Tel Aviv last night. Was good, except for extreme moshing before they went on (after they went on, surprisingly, it was rather calm).
I was second row on the far right, with Mike standing a few meters from me.

During Pardon Me Acoustic, the acoustic guitar went dead (well, it IS Israel...) so Mike switched to another one while all of us were clapping and singing with Brandon lol Mike then switched to another acoustic which quickly went dead as well, we were still clapping and singing. Brandon seemed quite chuffed about our reaction but then he stopped the singing and told Mike he'll wait for him... (there was also a funny 'give him a violin' comment)
Mike then took an electric guitar but played it just like the acoustic.
I have a video of some of that...

Also, Drive was different due to the guitar problems.

All in all, good gig. I'll post pictures/videos if you want.

myspace bulletin: "sorry boys and girls"

I tried my hardest, but Carpal Tunnel Syndrome sucks ass...I played as long and as hard as i could, I tried stretching, Anti-inflammatories, Ice, Injections, Rest...everything i could, but to no avail. and now surgery is my final option. But, the good news is that the surgery has proven to be VERY effective in getting rid of my particular ailment, so all i need to do is not play guitar for a couple months and heal. In munich the other night, i smashed my guitar on the stage right before i walked off, for those of you who didn't see it, because i was frustrated. My hand completely stopped working. I came out and played one more song in excruciating pain and needed to go home and see my doctors immediately. Then as soon as i knew i needed surgery, all i could think of was how dissappointed all of our fans out there were going to be...especially our south american friends who must think we hate them by now! MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES to everyone who was inconvenienced...but i promise i will make it up to every single one of you by giving you a sensual full-body massage, a fur coat, and a bentley. It's the least i can do. But seriously, sorry boys and girls, i'll see u all very soon. -mike

I LOVE INCUBUS, I have their cover of Lionel Ritchie's Hello somewhere. I've seen Incubus 6 times now, they never put on a bad show. I went to see them play In Las Vegas about 3 years ago, I went insane during Summer Romance. One time my friend and I got pretty drunk during an Incubus show, we yelled at Brandon Boyd to take off his pants. I got to see them recently at the Greek Theater in LA, great show. I even got to meet Brandon Boyd once, I was so damn nervous.

I saw them years ago when I was 16 and that gig was killer!
I love Make Yourself and S.C.I.E.N.C.E, but I'll always have a soft spot for Mourning View as well. The later albums are not too bad either.
I love Clean, Redefine, Blood on the ground, Pardon Me, Certain shade of green and Warning.

Light Grenades isn't even their best album either... Have a go at Morning View and Make Yourself and see what you think. Their sound changes on every album, so Morning View is more mellow and Make Yourself has some seriously angsty bits.

"Incubus will head back into the studio in the summer of 2010 to begin writing and recording a new studio album, tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release."

also to quote Brandon from an interview:

"We are definitely going to be writing ... in hopes of putting out a record sometime in 2010. That's the hope. We can never force anything. I definitely have the suspicion that we're going to get on the road together this summer, and we're just going to start playing and stuff is going to start brewing, and we're going to light that fire again."
