We've all done it; been online late, cant sleep or dont want to sleep yet, nothings happening on the board/myspace/facebook etc.. you're bored of youtube and surfing so you just sit and wait for something vaguely amusing to happen.
State your reason!!
Me now = I miss my beautiful girlfriend.

Its only 11:25, I'm waiting for Conan O'Brien to come on so I can stare and laugh at my television for an hour, mhmmm, Then I will climb into bed all happy.

I dunno I just... can't most the time.
Even if I'm really tired I'm too lazy to go to bed. Even though I'm already sort of in my bed... all I have to do is lie down and shut my eyes.
This is basically banter though :p

I have a problem with bed.
The only way I can really get to sleep at the moment is by staying awake all night, then going to bed until the evening and so feeling really tired and able to wake up at an early hour such as this.
Which reminds me, I must phone up for the results of the blood test.

Erm sometimes I just don't feel tired
But what I do sometimes if I have to get up early the next day or something is try to go to bed half an hour early, not necessarily to get to sleep, but just to lay there completely still, and sometimes that can get you sleepy.

Yeah, it bloody sucks. When I go to bed I just lay and think about stuff, namely a girl I can't be with who I can't stop thinking about. I'd say Iv'e been getting about 2-4 hours a night but I'm always waking up in between. It's crap and not good for you :(

My problem is that I allow myself so little time during the day to just think about stuff. So when I get in bed, I end up just letting my mind wander, but not letting myself go to sleep. I only tend to fall asleep immediately if I'm absolutely shattered. So if I think I'm getting a really early night, I don't generally fall asleep until an hour or two after I get in bed. I oughtta do something about that, but it's really relaxing.

It takes me between an hour and two hours to fall asleep most nights, and I'm a relatively early riser in student circles (I'm rarely still asleep after 8:30/9:00).

Same. I do my thinking in bed. Its really the only time where you can think without something bothering you.

Well here's a trick for the 'compulsive thinking while in bed' syndrome. Slow that voice in your head down, make it mellow, monotome downright boring. You basically bore yourself to sleep.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy worked for me. I used to be pilled up to the eyeballs on every sleeping tablet I could have and would still be in a semi-comatose state of alertness. Started to analyse to processes of what was going on in my brain when I wanted to sleep and what I could do to change them and I've not had a bad nights sleep in months.

It's really annoying, on school days when I have to wake up early, I find it nigh on impossible to get out of bed.
But then when it comes to going to bed later on that day, I just don't feel tired and so don't really want to go to bed.
But even though I'm not tired, I can fall asleep within a few minutes usually pretty easily.
What an annoying cycle. Why does the world have to start so early?

Me= hoping my boyfriend is thinking the same as you..
and my ear keeps on buzzing, i hear a constant bloodflow inside my ear:mad: its so loud that it keeps me awake...and makes me wanna rip off the entire thing:mad: anyone else ever had that? and is there a way to MAKE IT STOP???
Oh and for the compulsive thinkers (Im one of them); take a herbal sleepingjuice, you can order it at www.easysleepplaza.com and within an hour your mind calms down and your eyes start burning and there's no way you can stay awake.
I dont like medicines, so this is perfect...its completely natural and it actually works.

The buzzing...do you get like a high pitched ringing as well? If you do it's probably tinnitus. It's a bitch but if there's any permanent damage there's no cure for it. There are ways of relieving it though. Try sleeping with a tiny amount of white noise in the background, it'll reduce the impact that the tinnitus has.

I can get to sleep no matter what or how tired I am as long as I do my nightly ritual of:
laying on my side/stomach in between region curled up in a tight ball with my fleece blankets stuffed into all the nooks of my body so a draft can't get in then with a comforter or two on top of that, my head buried into my pillow and covered by a blanket.
Its so odd though, I have to be in that position to get to sleep at night, and I wake up in the same position and conditions, yet when I wake up my sheets are always in a tangled mess.

They don't help me fall asleep, or stay that way, but the sleep I do get is deeper than usual, so I feel more rested anyway :)
Nature's Own. They've got the highest concentrations of stuff in them of all the different insomnia herbal help things what were on offer at that pharmacy.
