My mate, Paula, won a competition on an American radio station to meet them with a mate. Sounded pretty awesome. Chris wasn't there though.

Guys, what the f*ck do you do to meet them?
I've thought about it quite much, and it's not like I've found anything useful to get to meet them, but then, I would feel weird meeting them as a fan (they've probably met thousands of fans, they wouldn't even remember me I think).

I've met them a few times now. Mostly outside venues after gigs (Belfast, Aberdeen, Luxemburg and Oslo). I also met Matt at an airport. We had been on the same flight!
There have been other occassions where I could have met them but it hasnt been an appropriate time. Either they were in a rush so I stood back to let others meet them who havent met them before (Monaco and Copenhagen), They have just stepped off of a 10 hour flight (San Francisco, I had been on the same flight but didnt know) or I didnt want to look like a stalker so I ran away (The reception of a hotel in London last year)
They all seem lovely by the way, even though I'm really shy and have never said anything other than 'Hi, How are you?/Can you sign this please?/Can I have a photo please? Thanks. Bye' to them!

I have met all three. Nice blokes. It is almost impossible to meet them at large gigs as security starts kicking you out before the last notes fade. I met them after a smaller gig, had to wait patiently for 3 hours, but their security had promised to bring the guys out, so we waited. If you are in a group of screaming girls, you may as well leave, that seems to turn them off. We waited patiently by the bus.

Sooo... how would you go about meeting them? It must be one of the following I guess:
1) Win some competition (ie radio)
2) After gigs
3) Know people in the right places
4) Randomly
5) Somehow motivate Muse to want to meet me?

Matt didn't speak though! Did you hang around to meet Dom? Most of my crowd had left by then... I was the one who borderline-harangued Chris; I always seem cross when I'm really cold. :p

I usually just meet them after gigs.. I suppose I can say 3 as well cos I was given backstage passes ones and also a member of a support band took me to the afterparty another time lol
And 4 happened several times actually too, it tends to happen in the US.

No, I left before Dom came out. I was the one who lent out my pen for them to sign with. The funny thing was, Matt used my pen to sign things but didnt get round to signing for me

I think people just make a guess and sometimes it works out.
I think its totally wrong to hang round an airport to meet them. I would imagine the last thing they would want to do while travelling is be nice to people. Or am I the only one who gets crabby and stressed travelling?

Doesnt make it right though. I think that if you have to go to some effort to find out when and where they will be, you really shouldnt be there. Airports and hotels come into that catigory.
But maybe thats just me.

hmmm maybe
if i were muse, i'd appreciate the fact that they went to a lot of trouble to me us. if they look/act totally mental then i'd perhaps get security over quick! lol but i think if they seem like just retgular fans then a quick photo/autograph isn't too bad... it's a common thing too, meeting at an airport
hotels however, that's going a bit personal. that's really pushing into their private lives, imo that's out of order. but airports they're just passing through anyway.

I wouldnt. I'd think how the hell do they know what time we would be here? they must have tracked us down. Must be more careful next time. Or at the very least go away, I've just got off a plane I just want to get where I'm going in peace. I'd sign the autograph/pose for the photo and be nice but It would still irritate me. I'd hate it if someone asked me for a photo just after I'd got off a 10 hour flight or something, which is why I didnt approach Matt or Chris in San Francisco.
I think sometimes people are so wrapped up in getting what they want they dont stop to think how it could be from their point of view. Or maybe I just think too much!

I wouldnt. I'd think how the hell do they know what time we would be here? They travel with a lot of people, many times the crew and other people they work with (locally, just for that certain gig) will volunteer the information without much fuss. And in certain gigs there's not many options.
Personally, I wouldn't do it. I don't value that kind of thing enough to go on purpose to an airport and wait for them, I have more to do  As for those who do it and how the band feels about it - I think more than the attitude of waiting for them, it's how they are approached that matters.

For those wondering about airport info. It's not that hard to get it, the guys themselves tend to tell you about the flights lol
At Greece when I told Matt we're also going to Serbia to see them he actually got really excited for a second saying 'ooooh we might be on the same flight! :D'
But then I had to correct him and tell him they're doing Romania before lol

A friend of a friend of mine met them once, while working at Best Buy. He sold them a Robo-Raptor...
I met Kirk in Perth, missed out on meeting Chris.
By the time my good friends who were at the gig DID meet them I had arrived from the three hour drive home. *eye twitches* Oh well, Kirkeh ftw.
And in Melbourne, my friend and I saw them go into Rod Laver. We were the only one's there, and we didn't say anything, we were a bit dumbstruck. But hey, they acknowledged our being there. And then those chicks walked past after they'd gone in ages ago saying, "Are you waiting for them?" To which I butted in, "No."

Ran into Matt in Lugano (Switzerland) on the streets a few years ago. He lives in Como, so that is quite close and he went to the Casino in Lugano. It was just before they went to the famous Chateux in France, he told me, they were going there next week to work on the new album.
Then I met Matt & Dom backstage at a festival in 2006. I talked to each of them for around two minutes, took pics and so on. They were extremely nice :)
I saw them on another occassion, but felt like not bothering them.

 Envy. I've never met Muse, I've only seen them live once (much to my despair), but when I did it was the IOW fest and the woman next to me was saying how many times she met them, it was loads! I think she even spent a whole Razorlight gig with Dom. The envy was strong.

I'd love to meet them in person, but I'm always such a douche when I meet bands :erm:
To be able to talk to them properly, about the music and conspiracies and such nonsense would be amazing, but yeah, I don't think that's very likely to happen

Any way, I have met Mr. Wolstenholme. I was with my God children and friend at the time and pretty much keeled over as soon as I saw those spray painted skinny jeans. My friend, who loves Muse but wouldn't recognise them, was totally baffled. I ended up chatting to him and got a photo with him which is here.http://twitpic.com/e8vcw
Being from Devon myself I have a fair few friends that have met the band or saw them back before the days of record labels and all that jazz. My colleague actually used to go skinny dipping with Matt and Chris back in the day and her cousin is good mates with the band and often helps out on tour.
