Don't think there's a Serafin thread yet - did search, feel free to slap me.
Serafin are quite possibly my second favourite band (after *cough* Muse of course) since randomly seeing them support Inme (why the hell was I at that gig? I don't even like Inme.) Very catchy, original sound, another real 'gotta find out who these guys are' moment. Also saw them at Reading - didn't disappoint.
Best bits have got to be the funky basslines, dangerously exciting lyrics and crazy time signiture manipulation. All they need now is a piano.
Favourite tracks... 'Day by Day', 'One More Way', 'Lethargy', 'Violently Hopefully' and best of all... 'No Happy'.
Any other fans in hiding?

Stony Sleep are pretty sound.
That was Ben Fox Smith's band before Serafin right? I've never heard their stuff - is it similar?

Similar. Not as poppy, I guess. Better anyway.

Have to check them out. I'd kinda forgotten about them. Thanks for the reminder.
Have to ask - is your real name Jondalar or are you just a Jean Auel fan?

I have read them. I wouldn't say I was a fan.
As for Stony Sleep. Good luck. Everything has been deleted. I think.

the EP versions of the tracks are better.

I mainly agree... apart from on Lethargy. The album version is much much stronger in my opinion, much more bass and drums, and the 'wait til I get in my own space' bit is intense.
No Happy was definitely better on the EP though.

I heard them first live as support for the band Live. Iw as like, wow they are quite good. Then I went to dl some stuff of them and I was so dissapointed. They are way much better live, their studiostuff just sucks!

i saw them support halo and they were the best band there (there were 4 bands altogether i think), but ive never gotten round to getting some of the tracks, mainly cos ive heard they dont live up to the live versions at all.

I saw them supporting feeder last year (along with hell is for heroes) thought they were alright then, downloaded a few tracks and now love them, bought the cd and I think it's fantastic, I also have a few stony sleep tracks and I'd say serafin are much better.

Hmm Serafin. Feeder support act a couple of years ago. They were pretty poor really, I can only remember 1 decent track out of their 6 track set.

They're a hell of a lot better recorded from what they were like when they supported feeder, not seen them since then so they may well have improved a lot live as well.

Sorry for resurrecting an ancient thread but I just wanted to say how much I love Serafin:D
I've only seen them once, in October 2003 supporting Frank Black & the Catholics and I really wish they'd come back to Bristol so I could see them again...if they are still together that is...
