Has anyone listened to Rachmaninov, the russian composer?
Well I downloaded some, and found that the butterflies and hurricanes piano solo was blagged, note for note. Space Dementia, some was nicked, Screenager live (hullaballoo), Megelomania etc:
Extremely good composer, but im just impressed that matt can combine it into his own music and make it sound so damn good. Fantastic band. :p

Tchaikovsky is better. Matt sampled some his stuff in Hoodoo and Apocalypse Please.

i listens to few of his works... the soft ones, actually, not the kind Matt into...
i don't know much about classical stuff. rachmaninoff and tchaikovsky are great russian composers. and i think it's great that Matt is influenced by them, cause most russian classic compositions are dark, imho
my friend once said that rachmaninoff went some plastical surgery to lengthen his fingers... or is it niccolo paganini? :erm:

From which piece did he take the B&H Solo?

Butterflies and Hurricanes wasn't taken from Rachmaninov. Matt composed it himself/ I spent about a month to listen to ALL of Rachmaninov's works and found only a very slight resemblance (even more of just the style) of B & H in a part of the 3rd concert.
Space Dementia though, where it goes "and makes us meaningless again", is a direct quote from the first part of Rach's 2nd concerto.;)
the beginning of Uno also sounds a bit like one of the preludes (i forgot the number).
