Don't know whether to be pleased or not! Thought I was the only Muse fan in this village!! (Pulls Daffyd Thomas offended face)

OMG you live in Durham! No way!! But nobody likes Muse inn Durham do they? Great to know there's two of us. Whereabouts in Durham are you?

There's quite a few more of us round and about the north east; we're kind of thin on the ground but I know of about 3 or so more.

Anyway, grand to know there's another one of us out there.

Just found a Capri sun straw in the back of the car left over from then (got loads in cos rumour had it here on the board that you couldn't take bottles in Wembley) and it made me smile and remember that awesome weekend.

Know Blyth a bit as used to stay up at Cambois at times; ten points for anyone who knows where the hell that is.

Hiya all,

I met up with Huei (charming queen), Sue (timrich), Debbie (blackwings), Keeley (Keen29) and Tracy (Half Life) yesterday in London. We were talking about having our Chrismas Do in Newcastle on the 8th December.

Anyone interested???? :D

We fancy going somewhere where we can get dressed up a bit posh like, and have a meal. Then if we can get some nice friendly DJ to do us a Muse 'disco' afterwards :D That would be rather brilliant!

If anyone has any ideas of venues/hotels, please let me know. Thanks.

DARTS?

this does NOT help your defence

I get what you mean about the darts. As well as being old farts, we have to now defend ourselves for being such. Oh woe!

Y'know what, it'll happen to you one day too; you'll wake up and be thirty odd as well. It's not that bad, really. A few points of comparison, in defence of being so very old....

16: You go to school.
35: You go to work; you get paid for going there-yay!!

16: Always skint
35: For a few hours after payday you're rich. Rich!! Beyond your wildest dreams mwhhhhahhhhhahahahah!!!

16: Parents poking nose into your business constantly
35: Parents: something you see once a week or so for Sunday dinner

16: Living with your parents
35: Living with someone you choose to live with (plus potential for some 'action' too:LOL:)

16: spots. meh...
35: spots? Yeah, I remember them....

16: Muse announce concerts. Shit! How can I afford that/somewhere to stay etc etc, will mum let me go to Wembley with my mates etc. Drama!!!
35: Casually go on internet, enter card details where it says pay here for tickets and for hotel; you got yourself a fabby weekend to look forward to.

See, it ain't so bad being a crumbly. Defend being 16 :p:LOL: hee hee....

DARTS?

this does NOT help your defence

16: spots. meh...

Don't remember Tarrant leaving but then we only ever got one series of it in the North East; doh! Had to make do with Swap Shop; all natty pullovers. John Craven and Maggie Philbin.

As for phwooaring over Sally James, do you also do that over Michaela Strachan? Barely know a straight bloke in his thirties who doesn't go all dreamy at the thought of her romping around with a lion cub wearing khaki shorts (her, not the lion cub obviously...).

Ah, no, in an act of clemency, you'll be spared. Drill from the outside, so you can swim away LYAO if that's possible.

One advantage of the McDonald's expansion everywhere is that irritating sods from the likes of Big Fun, the Reynolds Girls and Brother Beyond have jobs with their names written all over them wherever they live in the world. Did you know that the London Boys were killed in a bus crash. Still cringing about Sheila's Wheels.....would stick with Esure; the Michael Winner ads are much funnier....

Anyway....

Anyone up for a northern get together next Saturday in Newcastle?

Yeah, dead in a bus crash. So is one of Milli Vanilli and one of Climie Fisher. (Buses not involved there though). Clearly being in a duo in the 80's was not a path to longevity. Phew! Pleased I was just a spotty schoolkid and not a pop star, eh? Clearly too risky a business to be in.

Mixed ages make for a more interesting night all round, yeah? :D

If the meet up is bank holiday wkend i'm out. Off to reading festival but if there's another 1 i'll be there :D

I'm sure there'll be another... unless we meet and actually hate each others' guts. Which is highly unlikely

I'm from sunny Hartlepool.

I was born there... don't mention monkeys... LOL

Anyway....

Anyone up for a northern get together next Saturday in Newcastle?

YES!!!!! :D

re- meet up next weekend, alas i am already booked up for that weekend, but is there another one gonna happen before christmas poss? id love to come down and i know poss others from east of scotland would love it too.

You know I'll keep you updated, Bryan! ;)

Ye all reet hinnies? (Hmm, will drop this Geordie palaver there)

It's on Wendy's thread as well, but just a wee mention that there's going to be another meet up of Musers in the North.

It'll be Saturday the 29th. Dunno the time and location as yet, but that'll come.

Everyone welcome, whatever your age, etc etc, it'd be great to meet more fellow Musers.

General idea will be going somewhere we can have a good old natter about Muse, life, the universe and probably a bit more Muse for good measure and have a laugh and a few bevvies while we're at it.

If you're up for it, let me or Wendy (wendymuse) know and we'll keep you posted about the details of where and stuff.:musesign::musesign:

Ross Noble; been to see him in Billingham a couple of years ago, he's hilarious; better than Eddie Izzard I reckon (but similarly surreal and rambling: both good things in my book :yesey:). Bet he'll be great. Got his DVD for Crimbo last year and still haven't got round to watching it; I'm a bit rubbish at watching DVD's got a couple going back over a year still unseen.

2 Fish concerts? Two lots of Derek Dick? (For some reason I've retained that wee bit of Marillion trivia) you like Fish/Marillion as much as Muse then? Sounds like it was an ace gig anyway; always nice to get a bit of pwopa interaction going with the crowd (Take heed Bellamy; never mind just going 'cheers' once in a while:mad:)

Not been up to much exciting lately, but got not one, but two new jobs to start over the next couple of months. Scary or what?! What else you up to then?

Basically, I just keep an eye on the thread and when a date gets mentioned, I check and am usually free. Living 20 mins away from the Toon means I never need much notice, to be honest...

The only dates I can't do in October is the weekend of 20/21 (going off to Stockholm to see some band or another :D), but then again neither can Sam I'd imagine (she's going off to see some band or another :D). 6th would be too soon after the Sept one, and you can't make 13th anyway... Hiya Brian. Going to do a loooonnnnngggg answer 'bout this on your thread instead, but the organiser of these here meet ups; me and tracy and wendy really came up with the first one and then me and wendy for the second one that's going to be at the end of September, so yeah, whoever happens to be bothered! Varies about how much notice; some folk have shifts/partners with shifts to work around and as for October, I'm off to four gigs within the space of a month  why do all the bands I like have to do that and all tour at the same time?!!

Err, actually, I memorise stuff like that too cos we're kind of rare among the general population who go 'Muse? Who?' or 'Not them!. Saw three Muse types in Durham one time and nearly fainted with shock. Had to curb the tempatation to run up to them and bombard them with Musey talk. Awww... Forcedin_x isn't here... beddybyes, maybe?

Well, i've been away for a good 7 months.
I did go to beddybyes. many times but it's a crazy story you see.

Firstly, after posting my last message a group of crazy african mexicans, yes, crossbred african mexicans, burst in my house stole me and took me away to the antarctic, why i don't know. so anyway there i learnt the language and the tricks of the trade. I soon became a celebrity with the locals and made a name for myself in the wateeki village. I was still under the influence of my captors, however. Upon the day of the new years i introduced muse into the culture, i was then given the chance to perform on the stage at the local "shin-dig". From this i was granted the use of a guitar of my choice. Luckily an intellectual choice of a Jackson King V (pointedly sharp headstock). Upon the encore for my second song i violently stabbed the bassist and dived onto the drummer and pierced his main arterys with my teeth.
I knew from this, this was my time to leg it.
I hitched a ride in the local gas station by a trucker named Al, he was kind enough to take me to the local airport or "place of many flying objects" in his words. i had in my process of homicidal breakout stolen the wallet of the drummer, i used his card to pay for a flight to panama (where the extraditionary laws are relaxed).
I arrived in panama and made a name for myself as "El-Forced-Inular-X" which in local tongue stood for the one who was of the same nature as a donkey, why, i don't know. I raised enough money doing something i'm very ashamed of and won't go into detail i then took a flight back to the United Kingdom and arrived back to my hometown with a parade on the 4th of March, with a burning passion to reply to the topic i started on this board, drove me on to kill my captors and make my way home.

I've seen things that can't be unseen.
I've experienced life, that can't be unexperienced.

I hope you appreciate my commitment.

It's a Renault Scenic (glamorous, eh?), so has quite a big boot.. I have to get my friend's tent in as well as my stuff as they can't get to Weston until Saturday and they want me to pitch their tent with everyone else's (I may need some help with that :erm::LOL:). I am not taking a tent myself as I will sleep in theirs (it's got rooms apparently ).

I am assuming you want to go on Friday? As long as my hubby can get some time off work and so can pick up our childerbeasts, I am planning to travel down Friday late afternoon....

Anyway, we can plan the detail another time... sorry, getting a bit carried away  Just soooooooooo excited :D

Actually, it's 'pummelled'.

If the South East is better (much better), why are you even posting in this thread? Haven't you noticed it's called "Any NORTH EAST UK Muse fans?" ? Go to your 'own people' if they're so much better... IF you have a thread, that is...

Also, opinions are like arseholes: everyone has one.

And if you consider Rotherham to be "in't North", then I'm glad. Because it obviously means you don't actually know what or where "North" or "Northern" really is; and that means you'll never be at one of our meets. Which is good, because I would more than likely give you an unforgettable ear bashing should you be in attendance.

By the way, having been born and lived "in't North" all of my life, I am curious on hearing this "in't" thing. I've never in my entire life actually heard it in conversation or otherwise, myself...

Actually, it's 'pummelled'.

If the South East is better (much better), why are you even posting in this thread? Haven't you noticed it's called "Any NORTH EAST UK Muse fans?" ? Go to your 'own people' if they're so much better... IF you have a thread, that is...

Chester-Le-Street, representin'.
As far as I know, there are three die hard fans apart from me here. Namely my sister and two other girls I'm friends with from school.

There's loads more than that.... I was at a party in Birtley just last week-end with at least 12 Musers off this board...... :)
