View Full Version : Tablet?
As I do a bit of digital artwork with photoshop and all, I'm thinking about getting a tablet--because my mouse just isn't really cutting it. It's frustrating :(
I want to get a Wacom Graphire4, 4x5 inches. From what I've heard, Wacom is the best make, and the 4x5 is relatively cheaper than, say, the 6x8. Plus, I want to minimize desk-space-usage. And, it's only $153 Canadian so I could afford it, which is the only thing that has kept me from buying one before :D
However, is 4x5 a good enough space to work with? I'm assuming it is, a lot of people use 4x5, but I just want to get a second opinion to make sure--as well as for the brand and all.
Thanks!
i use an a5 wide. if you can justify the price of weither hte pen will be in your hand more than your mouse, do it. wacom are the tits. dont accept any substitutes.
Hehe, I got it tonight  In fact, I've been using it as a mouse since I've been busy drawing
The mouse is fantastic too (I had to slow it down and change it to relative positioning since I prefer more control ) which is great since my old mouse was broken

I'm using a Wacom Intuos 3 A5 size...I love it too ^_^
The mouse accessory means I don't need a seperate mouse.

So...wacom are the ones to go for? I might get one of the A6 tablets because I have limited room on my desk and I'm not going to be doing anything grand with it. Just some stupid animations which I need to draw properly as I can't us my mouse for shite

I got an A6 wide. I use it for photoshop painting and drawing terrain for 3d applications and games:

Though I'm not that good with photoshop painting, I guess A3 size is a bit too small to create nice lines.

I had an A3 one but it broke :'(
They are seriously good though. I should get another one haha.

I'd love a massive one but I just don't see why i'd need one that big

An A6 sounds good to me then, I'm not exactly sure what shop I could try and get one in, I might just order one from amazon

Considering I am studying to be a Designer having Freelance equipment is essential. A4 would have be so damn small for what I needed, I like the freedom and space you got with the A3. I was thinking ahead too, I would use an A4 one but it wouldn't have lasted half as long as an A3 (Career sense). But then some idiot split something on it

Yeah, that's why I'm looking at the A4 Wacom, big enough to fit on my desk etc etc, but not too big that it takes up too much space

I have no room on my desk. Thus I've gone for the cheapest and smallest

Got the A6 one today and it's amazing! The last tablet I used was horrible and really over sensitive and all jittery if you tried to draw on it. It was just bad. A "trust" one I think. This wacom is such an improvement

I'm thinking about getting the Wacom Bamboo Fun. The problem is I want the black version and it's not for sale in Europe. Anyone know any online stores in the US that would ship it to Europe? Amazon.com and the Wacom US store won't.

Ok forget the above post. I'm going to buy an Intuos3. I have a 22" widescreen monitor so was thinking about getting the A5 wide version but the active area seems a bit small. How would an A4 version work on a widescreen monitor?
