What is your fav game(s), or the best game you have ever played on?
It can be any platform (PS2, PC, GC, Xbox e.t.c.)
The best games i have ever played on are GTA3 & Vice City. I can't really say they're my fav because i don't have a PS2, my uncle lets me play on them when i'm at his house ;)
My favourite games are Medal Of Honor and Resident Evil (Gamecube).

I've always been a sega fan, and more specifically a sonic fan. My favourite game of all time was Sonic 3&k on the Mega Drive, the newer games are all ok, but there not exactly classics unfortunately. Mind you every single other modern platformer sucks anyway so you can't expect much.
My favourite next gen game would either be: Max Payne, Halo or Project Gotham Racing probably.
Hmm... can't pick just one... but...
Deus Ex, Metal Gear Solid (Original + Twin Snakes), Metal Gear Solid 2.
hmm MGS, GTA, Doom oh and la classic broken sword.
though i haven't played enough games to really judge I suppose :S

Probably between Deus Ex and Freelancer. But Transport Tycoon is classic.
Killing In The Name
30-05-2004, 03:09 PM
MGS (all of them),
Final Fantasy 6-9 (9 was 'ok', but didnt have that special something the others did. I just plain didnt like 10. The sphere grid sucked IMO. Blitzball was fun, though.)
Sonic (all except the 3d games)
Zelda (all of them)
If i had to choose, it would be mgs, but only because mgs3 looks like its gonna own...

Right click your desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced -> adapter and that will tell you your card
So long as it is about a GF2 level, it will run the game (bare minimum settings mind)

An AGP slot is like a PCI slot (the things you stick network/sound/other cards into on your motherboard) only an AGP slot has more bandwidth for transferring lots of data (like when you are playing games).
Is the computer you are on a Dell or similar manufacturer model? And if it is, do you know the model number?

Well as I remember, we always put it on easy mode with no competitors...so all we really did was make lots and lots of vehicles, and watch them. Subsidies were a bonus, but when you`re the only company on earth, you rake in the dosh.

In my experience, games that take longer to make usually end up a bit pants, usually becasue what they`re made with is outdated before it`s even released.
Daikatana and Duke Nukem forever been prime examples
That's true.
They spend so long 'perfecting' it, that when it's actually out, the perfection is nothing.

ToCA 2 on PS1 - 2 player link-up on that game cannot be beaten, in fact the whole game cannot be beaten, I have yet to play to better racing game.
Goldeneye on N64 - Again another classic multiplayer game
MGS on PS1 - The 2nd one was crap in comparison to this in my opinion, the original was just genius, the second could have been so much better, I have yet to play the most recent one though.
Silent Hill 3 on PS2 - It just kicks ass, especially the hospital part

Metal Gear Solid on the PSX - loved getting one of the fastest completion times and the story actually made sense, other than the primordial soup bullshit in MGS2.
Goldeneye on the N64 - had me addicted for months, almost solely down to the multiplayer.
Final Fantasy VII - bloody classic; shits on all the later versions.
Any Sonic game except for the Adventure series - because I'm a fanboy.
Half-Life - I still play Counter-Strike to this day, and enjoy needing some sort of skill to be half-decent at a game for once.

Sonic 3D and Sonic 3D 2 i think were the only games available for the Mega Drive, that were Sonic in 3D. The Saturn had bits of Sonic Jam in 3D. The Dreamcast has Sonic Adventure 1&2, and the Gamecube has Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Adventure 1 DX

My favourite games are Medal Of Honor and Resident Evil (Gamecube).
silent hill 2
pure scary, artistic, brilliance
MGS2 was fun, but it was rather weird and didn't make much sense most of the time.
Luckily that only cost me £10 aswell.
It sorta did make sense..though that could just be me :D But I agree it was pretty wierd esp coming near the end where freaky things started happening

Silent hill 2 is less intense where action is involved, but much much more atmospheric. The whole game had a much darker feel compared to SS3 which really was more gore and guts. Also the story kicks serious butt and leaves your imagination running for hours after the game

I really liked the atmosphere of SS3, if the atmosphere is better in SS2, I'll have to really consider getting a copy.
I was more comparing SS3 to the Resident Evil games, SS3 is a lot less gore and guts than RE.
I have to admit, after the first time I played SS3 I found it hard to sleep that night.

Ahh thanks, I was wondering because I was bored so ages ago I got the 2 disk boxset from cash converters. Unfortunately the dumbshits lost the other disk, so I got it for £5. (Yes the one I have IS the game disk :p) I just didn`t wanna be screwed by an `insert disk 2` prompt is I decide to play it again.

That PC ver is the Mega Drive ver. I'd swear that there wasnt another 3D Sonic game for the MD. Unless you had that 32x expansion, but Knuckles Chaotix was still 2D if i remember rightly.

Whats wrong with Sonic Adventure? I thought 2 was really good.
The first Sonic Adventure was a joke. I almost died with excitement knowing I was playing Sonic in 3D, but they stuck an "RPG" element up its backside and pretended it worked. I'm sorry, but I play Sonic games for the blistering speed and (now) for the huge, fun levels. Sure, it might be linear, but strangely fun at the same time. The first Adventure just made the time between the stages a chore. Whoever the fuck put a bunch of puberty-plagued kids as the Sonic voice cast deserves to be shot, too.
The second Adventure is far, far better; I like it, but it just doesn't have the same spark the old versions did. They need to bring back the feeling of wanting to go really fast, with the risk of something horribly unfriendly around the corner in the back of your mind. Knuckles' role in both versions is a complete piss-take, lol, "find some emeralds/important item/last nights underwear". I'd love to see him as Sonics rival again - something to do with the master emeralds (and the regular grey emerald).
I still own a DC (which I personally think is one of the best consoles out there, still) and both games, but I still wish I could crack out my MD and play all the old Sonic games instead. :/

You should have no problem running HL2, my friend, as far as I know, that is quite a bit above the minimum requirements. You don't need a supercomputer or anything to play it, as it will come with all the usual adjustable detail settings and all that. You should get it running pretty well on that, though.
This is what I have:
"Requires a 1.2ghz processor with 256MB of RAM, Windows and a DirectX 7 supporting graphics card as a minimum, however to enjoy the new game in its unbridled glory you'll be wanting something altogether beefier, a 2.4ghz CPU, 512MB of RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a graphics card supporting DirectX 9."
^ You seem to have all that, so it should be cool

I've completed it loads of times. Once you've completed it you can start over from where you left off. That means you get to start again but with all your money, weapons, & accessories. So every time you complete the game it gets easier lol. Just make sure at the end that you collect the money off the boss monster thingy.

The Adventures Of Alundra on PS1. Absolutely genius gaming. Some failry tricky puzzles and a great story with great script. Graphics are basically slightly updated SNES quality but it fits the game perfectly. Shame the second one was absolutely bollocks.

It's quite an old thread, so it was a bit buried. Use search next time, and remember to tick search field for titles instead of whole posts :)
One of my favorite games ever is Sacrifice btw.

I've always wanted to get that, but the reviews were kind of mixed. I did really enjoy the demo though, and I bet it's dirt cheap now.
I think my favorite game is still The Adventures of Alundra. I haven't actually met anyone else who's even heard of it though.

It's just absolutely brilliant game. It wasn't marketed well though, since Shiny was creaming over that crappy Messiah, instead of Sac. It has a real story and plot, which you can really alter yourself. It has amazing replay value too, since the game offers lots of choices and options. It doesn't even look that bad compared to modern games, the magic effects are still gasp-worthy :p
There's one really annoying problem though. Hosting a multiplayer game is really hard to get working, the game doesn't really cooperate with routers etc well. It depends on the model and company, if it works. Joining game that someone other hosts is no problem though.
Get it, costs a penny nowadays. And no, I haven't head of Adventures of Alundra :p

Haha, I actually own Messiah. It really is quite bad.
Sacrifice is a fiver on Amazon, so I'll definitely get it soon. Stalker should arrive in a few days though, so I'll leave it a bit. Don't want to spoil myself and all that.
