OK so these guys are supporting Muse on the Saturday at Wembley, I mentioned it to my husband the other day and so he gave them a listen last night on iTunes and dowloaded the whole album. I'm listening to it right now and it's great! Really enjoying it...
yeah they're good, well surprised they're playing with muse, i've seen them doing metallica covers at glasto a few years back (on the tv) was bloody ace.

I've learnt how to play the lead part of Tamacun  and I definitely think that Gabriela is the best female guitarist to have been noticed so far.ever.

Yeah, they're so talented! I made this thread after I'd only listened to 3 tracks off the album and after I listened to the rest I was even more impressed (apart from the StH cover, just :noey:)
I'm gonna try hunt down some YouTube links today so I can see them performing :)

Gabriela's technique is SO difficult :stunned: I tried to do the triplet thing that she does; it's so quick :stunned: it's pretty frightening
Can't wait to see them play again. Seen them twice already :D

That's when I first saw them on the tv Glasto 2004. Got the cd last year (I brought it for my husband-put it on my ipod though:$). Saw them last week at Shepherds Bush. Brilliant. Gab's purccusion skills are amazing. I hope that there will be a close-up camera, so people can see what she's doing. (See full review Muselive- Bands). if you have the chance, please go and see them in a small venue. The tour started last week.
If you like the idea of new wave flamenco guitar bands. check out Ojos de brujo- they do flamenco/hip-hop/rap/bangra(?Indian)-borrowing a drummer from the Dhol Foundation.

My ex was a big fan of them so he played me some of their stuff and I really liked it. I'm not much of an acoustic fan but I love the way they play thier guitars, they kind of have that "stomp" feel to their performances too, you know that show in the westend? I think they're good hopefully they will pull of a good show at such a big stadium :)

I am a classical guitarist, and have seen some BEASTING players in my time, but man. They are awesome. Just fucking awesome.
I just bought their album on amazon without listening to it.

I now have their album, via amazon.
OH MY GAWD
It is fucking amazing. Like, properly some of the best guitar music I have heard. And I have heard alot. I play classical guitar, and this is like, God playing the guitar to me. These guys rule. 'Diablo Rojo' - TUUUUUUUUUNE!!!!! Oh my gawd, I cannot believe how good it is.
And I am in a mexican/south-american music obsession phase right now, so this is so perfect.
Fucking amazing. This makes me all the more gutted that I am not going to wembley. How SHITE!!

Glad you like it, see what I mean? I can't believe people are moaning about these guys playing Wembley
Do check them out on YouTube if you haven't... I thought they were great when I just heard them but I realised they were even more amazing when I saw them play because I'd thought they had a percussionist too until that point :$
Check out the EP called Live Manchester & Dublin too, showcases some of their earlier stuff and has a nice atmosphere to it :)

Those people moaning are clearly wrong. SO wrong. Wrongy wrong wrong.
And lol yeah that's why I think they are so amazing, I am currently trying to master the whole percussive thing Gab has going on. I can kind of do it, a bit more practise and I should have it down. Well, some of it heh :p
Now let's see.....ring finger and middle finger down, thumb down, thumb up......slap...slappy.....massive knuckle....
No, I am getting there heh.

i don't see why people would complain, personally prefer the whole chilled out acoustic thing to start a night, then kick in with the rock stuff later  gets people in the right mood without being overbearing...
I'll probably check them out at Guilfest as well after Wembley. They sound very promising and I look forward to it.

Yeah I'll be seeing them at Glastonbury I think, though I'm torn between them and the Stooges :(

Hmm, I'd say the Stooges if you've seen Rodrigo once before (at Glasto time).

Ok lads, I can now play Gabriela's part to 'Tamacun', 'Viking Man' and part of 'Diablo Rojo'.
I can't play her epic solo bit in Diablo Rojo yet, because I am a traditional classical guitarist and have long nails on my right hand. She has no nails (well short ones heh), so can do it alot easier. I can't make the right sound, it just kind of clacks with the sound of my nails. Plus, less manouever-ability amnd everything. I can do it with two hands though
And Rodrigo's parts are ok aswell. He has a cutaway bit at the top of his guitar, so can reach the top of the fretboard easier, but I can stretch heh. But he uses a plectrum - what's up with that?! I'm getting by just using my index finger and middle finger simultaneously!
Goddamit!

Ok, I have now officially become obsessed with these guys. I can pretty much play most of the album.
However.....I just bought the live one of Manchester and Dublin. Fuck me. It's fucking amazing. They are properly awesome.
Is anyone else as crazy about them as I am now?

The Manchester and Dublin album is great, isn't it? I've had it since the beginning of June :D
Having given up the guitar a while ago myself (and not having the time now with young 'uns) I love listening to them, yeah I guess I'd be obsessed if I was figuring out how to play it all, yeah!
You'll have to YouTube yourself and give us some links ;)

Fucking Hell, '11:11' is brilliant.
Loving 'Buster Voodoo'. Like woah. Only had one listen so far but not a dud on it. They pulled it off. I wasn't sure if they would after RyG but they bloody have, and then some.
Please tell me I'm not the only one on the board who got the album today?
