there is a movie but its ment to be absolutely dire, doesnt follow the storyline etc, so i didnt bother buy it even when i spotted it for a fiver!

The movie is truly appalling, and from what can remember took real liberties with the storyline of the book. You were right to steer clear!

Yeah I read that a few years ago, it was excellent, I haven't read the sequel though so I might look that out. I didn't even know there was a movie of it.

When I was 13, I dated a guy who'd only read one book all the way through and that was 'Flowers in the Attic.' Seems I should've avoided him from the start. Though I did enjoy the first book, despite its rather exploitative incest-obsession. I read a few of the sequels ... they were more salacious and less interesting, simultaneously, strangely enough.

lol ive read all the sequels, the second one is alrite, then ive only bothered read the 3rd, 4th and the prequel once. you only really need to read the first one, and second if youre intrigued enough.
This is my favourite book.
There is no way to discribe how it made me feel at the end.

hey there,
i've written a poem for the lovliest character in the story..i wanted to share it with you all :
FOR THE FLOWER CORY IN THE ATTIC
They were four in the attic
Under the presure of everything
They were left to fall apart
Left to go through the darkness of life
With a wicked ma and grandma
They were filled with terror
No way to escape from the trap
And no way to catch the breeze of the life
With the tragic death of the one
Other three were in despair and anger
Anger that may be enough to challenge the world
Despair that may be the worst of all
With the revenge and hatred filled in their souls
They could achieve that
Yes,they could escape
But only from that gloomy atmosphere
Not from the reality
Waiting for the day for victory
They were patient
But when it would be the time
They wouldn't be any longer
Not only to make ma sell her soul
But also to make her cry till death
Yes,they would do this
They would do this without thinking
For themselves
And for the most unforgetable flower in the attic
Rest In Peace Cory
i want your comments about it.. thanks.... gokje

I read loads of Virginia Andrews as a teenager, I've seen the movie for this as well and a agree it's awful, I enjoyed the books though.

Exactly, the third one is the worst, 4th a little better and the prequel- can't remember that at all.
The best Virginia Andrews book imo is My Sweet Audrina- rare as it wasn't part of a massive series and it has a weird twist to it (not incest for once...).
Anyone here read any of the Heaven series? Read them all when I was a teenager....
