My favourite part of any Muse song is the chorus of Stockholm Syndrome...it's just perfect with the riffs, drums, lyrics and that magic piano playing in the background whilst Matt sings.

Oh, I love in the slow chorus of Citizen Erased when they sing "free" but it goes "freeeEEEEEE" and it feels sort of... suspended, almost, and then the main riff kicks back in. Pwnage.

Wow, I love far too many little things to mention them all, but I will list some of them, in no specific order. Unsurprisingly, mine are very like others’ choices. (Obviously almost Muse’s entire catalogue of music is wonderful in full, but you did ask for specific favorite parts to songs):

- The arpeggios to Bliss.

- The first twenty-seven seconds to New Born.

- For Plug in Baby: at 00:32 “I’ve exposed your lies…baby…the underneath’s no big surprise” and then at 1:31-32 the “oooooh”; and then at 2:42-3:06, after “tired of living”, the similar “oooo”, on to “and I’ve seen your loving…Mine is gone…And I’ve been in trouble…wooaahhhh”
..Man I love that. :D

- The guitar slide at 3:48 on Citizen Erased is wicked.

- The chorus, and piano sections to Sunburn – I love the level of ardency in that song; it is so exhilirating.

- The synth from Endlessly at 2:39-3:30. It’s incredibly compelling, and reminds me of something that is difficult to describe…something that would sound strange and silly if talked about.

- The entire song is masterful, but I especially love the enveloping guitar to Stockholm Syndrome at 1:23-1:29. Also the fluctuation in background vocals on the lines “let your anger rise”/”Let your hatred grow”. But it’s difficult to pick out any one section, I might as well say I favor the entire song…

- The strings to Blackout – they’re consolatory.

- “Interlude” from Absolution.

- Of course the bass to New Born, Muscle Museum, Hysteria and mostly every other Muse song…

- The Chorus to The Small Print – I love the guitar, and especially the vocals at “Saaaaaay, it’ll make you insane…” and the general mood the song carries.

- The dynamics, strings, and drums to City of Delusion.

- The descending guitar and piano notes at 1:33 on “Why….” of Hoodoo. (I think they are guitar and piano notes, it could be bass and piano, or something else…correct me if I am wrong.) Just a little nuance; it appears to be very common in many styles of music, but I’ve always enjoyed it.

That is all I can think of at the moment, but it is definitely enough to portray the idea…

A lot of people have pointed out a few of the bits I like, but by far my favourite moment is towards the end of Sunburn, when Matt's voice just starts to break when he sings the second repetition of "i'll HIIIIDE from the world"... the sheer energy coming from the guy there never fails to send shivers down my spine.

- the synth in Bliss, and especially the point where the bass and drums kick in. Magic. Especially live!

- The point where when you're watching KoC live at a festival and suddenly you have tens of thousands of people all singing along to "No-one's gonna take me alive!" and then the subsequent madness when the guitar riff kicks in

- the bassline to Easily

- The Groove

- the "fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking lil' fucker, yeahh..." bit of that one performance of Feeling Good... makes me laugh every time :P

- the small bends during the choruses of Hysteria, never noticed them until I listened to the instrumental version... good fun.

- all the gritty background synthesiser arpeggios on various songs on BHAR, especially the little bit just before the first line of the chorus of KoC

- i also like listening to the first version of Bliss, from... bizarre festival I think. it's great... no guitar but i somehow love the off-time always-fiddling-with-the-tempo arpeggiator usage, with that nintendo synthesiser sound and dreamy sounding vocals... and the "HAHAHA... yeah we've never played that, ever, before" at the end :P also, a video of an early version of PIB from reading university where matt sings "God is in me!" instead of "My plug in baby", purely for the bizarreness of that line.
