Anyone else like this?

I do believe this has to be one of the most well crafted shows iv ever seen. I bought it off t'internet a few weeks ago and as hard as iv tried to refrain im already on my second viewing of the series because im not so hooked more ever so slightly completely fooking obsessed with it. It does help that i have a thing for Kaylee/Jewel Staite (over to the Beatiful Women thread i go:happy: ) but i love the characterization throughout this show of all the main characters. You cant say theyr all totally realistic but theres a part in all of them that you can identify with which makes them just so likeable. Also the blend of genres is so smooth and well done and it makes a pleasant surprise to see a space based sci-fi not have to rely on ships shooting each other all the time such is the incredible script. In fact i think this is the first sci-fi show iv watched that is both witty and has regular genuine laugh out loud moments!
Damn Fox for cancelling the show so early. So much potential so many corporate fools:mad:

Okay let the Firefly bumming session commence!
....or you could just discuss it a little bit, or even just humour me if none of you care:p

pretty sure theres a serenity/firefly thread about, but yeah it was an ace show probably one of the best sci fi shows ever.

I've posted about this before which makes me believe a thread exists but yes...Awesome Awesome show. I love Buffy and Angel too but this could have surpassed them both with some time to grow.

It's an awesome show...I still check the fan sites from timr to time hoping to find news of a new film or season...

Just watched through again. :( It's always the same, starts off a little slow, gets good, start singing the theme song, suddenly you're on disc 4 and you get all depressed)

I love it! Just like Serenity.

Itīs as if watching the actual fictional movie on which the Knights Of Cydonia was based on with a higher budget.

Space Cowboys ftw. (even the starting credits include a spaceship chasing a bunch of horses).

I think a sequel to Serenity isn't impossible. Joss has mentioned a few times that the first has been a great seller on DVD.

Right now, y'all should be getting your Joss fix with the Buffy and Angel continuation comics.
His new show "Dollhouse" starring Eliza Dushku looks fucking awesome and will likely start toward the end of the year.
He's also doing a super hero musical thing with Nathan Fillion.

Awesome.

I've noticed that watching the movie and the series can sometimes be rather painfull. Kaylee looks (and acts) like a very accurate older version of a girl I was completely mad about :(
Come to think of it, she would've loved the show as well.

Aye it's a bit freaky but it does include guys too. It's an interesting concept, it's typical Joss style too, worth watching to the end of the season.

Yeah, it really picked up toward the end. The idea of people's minds being wiped is scary, but it questions how much you can remove etc. etc.

My bro lent me Serenity ages ago and I've put off watching it until now, now that I've borrowed Firefly from a mate. I'm 7 episodes in, and loving it.

Yeah you're better off watching all the episodes. The plot of Serenity is really warped by the amount of lose ends the movie needs to tie together.

Need to watch.


Although in one class this year we were shown a pretty lame beginning of one of the episodes. A really cheesy bar brawl. I'm told it's a lot better than that bit lets on though. Boyfriend has it on dvd, so I will get round to it...


Serenity was alright.. I'm sure it'll seem a lot better when I've seen the series..

You need to see firefly before serenity for sure. Firefly is awesome, you just need to watch a few episodes and you need to watch them all.

I've had Firefly on DVD for ages! I've never watched it though... Maybe the fact that the first episode is quite long has been putting me off. I'm terrible for motivating myself to watch stuff. I should get round to it soon! :(

I'm like this too :LOL: I'd had Serenity a year before taking any action :facepalm: Then I get into it and berate myself for taking so long to watch it!

Yeah. But it makes the proper return of the show more likely. Esp if this run is popular.
