View Full Version : Mabuhay Muse!
Hey. I'm just a newbie here and I'm so disappointed that there are only a handful of Pinoys who rock to Muse. I'm so desperate for them to play here and so are these Musers who still have the unfortunate privelage of waiting for Muse to play here in our dear-old third world country. All we need is one night, one night of "Stockholm Syndromes", "Starlights" and many more. All Pinoy Musers, both who are living in the RP or who are abroad, please feel free to leave your messages here!

I have to start off by saying that writing this review was an enjoyable blast to the past into the remarkable history of the San Fransisco punk scene of the late seventies. Mabuhay Records was founded by Ted Oliphant, who named the label after the infamous Mabuhay Gardens in San Fransisco, also known as the Fab Mab, a hot spot for punk rock in the late seventies and early eighties (now 443 Nightclub), housing such legendary acts as Iggy Pop, the Dead Kennedys, the Ramones, the Minutemen, Black Flag, and many more. Oliphant had a few stints as soundman at the venue, and the impact of the birthing of San Fran’s punk scene never left him. With the stories and history of Mabuhay, it’s going to be a little tricky doing this review without get too long winded, so I’m going to dive right in and try to make a comment or two on each track - here it goes.
For starters, the first track, “Get Outta My Way”, by Bittley Black and the Next, is a classic, up-beat punk rock anthem- service with a smile, and a boot to the skull- couldn’t find any info about this band online.
