it's not a joke to me, someone really needs to invent a sarcastic, or joke emoticon, to stop this from happening, and it's not coz main muse lacks a sence of humor, it's coz humor isn't able to be expressed through text.

I'm sorry but when someone says 'emo, lol' most people will take that as light-hearted with humour and NO WAY being an attack on someone. Honestly. If someone takes it too seriously, then they need to actually re-think what is funny. This section of the board really doesn't understand humour because everything is taken so seriously! Get a grip and just fucking chill!

Well, for instance you got a bit pissy at me for saying 'Clunge... shhh'. Now in my view that's not some sort of attack, but maybe a suggestion for leaving someone else alone but with a bit of humour (which is the best way, I think).

Another way that text isn't the best way for expression. So let's ALL take a fucking chil-pill! :D

Well, we all have own ideas about things, we're all different, I'm not brilliant myself! It's kinda hard to sometimes see where people are coming from.... oh well, my knowledge on the subject isn't brilliant, so meh, what do i know?

Off the album, Origin Of Symmetry, id o think is it one of the best, but let's not forget PIB, and Darkshines,(which i also like) also came off that album... it's hard to say....

Bliss is a very good song, but i definitely preferit live. The best live version i have ofit wasfrom Glastonbury,i love that version. I think most songs are better live, even if you sae it or not, the majority are better live.:)

I was always under the impression that Austrailians spoke english. Obviously not. Sigh.

I'll explain. You're clearly a kid, I was just saying if you get that offended by a small tiny comment then you're gonna have no chance as soon as you enter the real world, when you've left education etc. You get things ten times worse than that thrown at you, and you've just got to shrug them off! if you don't you'll never hold down a job! so I'd get into a habit of ignoring silly remarks if I was you, it'll do you good.

i'm not a kid, i'm a teenager and i'm not immature, people here just picked the wrong person to take the piss out of, i'm usually cool headed, i've just been having a rough time and i don't take crap from anyone, because i used to and it got worse, it's better if people know where i stand then have them walk over me.

And if a customer was being rude to me at the place i work i'd have the right not to seve them, and if i was my boss, i'd quit.

No no no no... I wasn't having a go at you! No! I regularly have debates, that's what i was saying! We all have different ideas about things, so we don't always see eye to eye, so debates are bound to happen!
Especially when it comes to hurtful comments, some people think that what they said wasn't hurtful, but others may think otherwise.

I don't like to rate Muse songs. Bliss is certainly the one for me I don't want to consider thus because it is quite special and different from the other ones. There is a message of love and universality in this one that is astounding!

When I hear it, it simply gives me such a Bliss and makes me smile.:) and I do associate this one to great friends who give me joy and peace in my mind.;)

I think one of things that makes it so great is that it IS sad, lyrically, but the music leaves you feeling strangely uplifted. Same kind of appeal (but different sound) as the Smiths and a lot of other great songs. You're being taken in two directions at once, or maybe just one or the other at two different times depending on your mood.

Yes I kinda agree to the comments earlier. it's a weird feeling you get, a vibe. First time I saw it live on the glasto dvd I think the feeling I had was euphoria. or very close to that weird happy feeling. I've never seen Muse live, like at a gig, so I guess that would be even better. :D maybe someday! anyways I think the phrase "everything about you is so easy to love" is one of the best parts of the song!!! :)

get this guitar pro file http://www.911tabs.com/link/?4212917 delete every line beside the arpeggi one, and export it as a midi file. Then you can play it over a keyboard
ah it lacks the arpeggis of the refrain hmm just search for other guitar pro files, im sure there are some which have all of them in it

Newbornscreenager

well its only really piano right at the start then it morphs into a synth which it pretty much stays like for the whole song apart from at the outro again. the piano has a delay effect on it and has probably been EQ'd quite a bit. with a bit of messing about on a workstation/synth its not too difficult to get a sound which is pretty similar to it

actually, it's just appregiators on synths with delay, not piano. two different instruments.

basically, if you want to play bliss accurately, you need a synth with an appregiator, not a piano.

The pills and joints thing turned out to be a false rumour and "peath" sounds a lot like peace anyway so that's probably no intentional.

Matt has started to say "peace and jjoys" (or joyce, or something) though.

I used to think it was hate. But now I think it is height. As in being high.

Gives me all I need. And helps me coexist with the chill. Yep sounds like drugs although maybe its used metaphorically.

And yeah like someone said, I too thought it was since ovulation...until I read the booklet. Hey have you noticed that on their website it says for microcuts "a blane cuts in your brain" but the booklet days "blade" which makes more sense.

Why can't they be on the same page with their lyrics? The website, the booklet, Matt, all different.

To me, H-8 makes more sense. But no one knows.

Musewiki: H8/H-eight/Height/Hate
H8 or height may refer to height as in 'getting high.'

An alternative possibility is that, as previously mentioned, Space Dementia is associated with feelings of insignificance, insecurity, and isolation. Height may refer to a metaphorical height. "Height is the one for me" may be interpreted as a desire for distance and/or significance.

Yet another interpretation exists in that height is "hate." Hatred is what the speaker needs; the bitterness helps him to co-exist with his loneliness and isolation - the 'chill' - so much so that the hate becomes a necessity.

However a comment from Matt (maybe in jest) detailed another meaning for that first word: "Using a microcomputer (Hitachi H8 / 3048F) which can be built into the industrial machines, you can learn and understand the inputs /outputs of the microcomputer as a basis of robot control and conduct the experiments by C-language for steppingmotor control, servomotor control (PWM control) and serial communication. H8 model, a 16-bit microcomputer consists of 32-bit registers, has a flash ROM of 128KB, a RAM of 4KB (SRAM) with external extension of 128KB and 78 I/O terminals with the built-in A/D and D/Aconverters. H8 is a microcomputer usually built into a TV, VTR, mobile-phone and car navigator. Since it has ample I/O terminals, H8 microcomputer is also used as a brain of a small robo". The information in this is true so maybe he wasn't joking ...

Another explanation to H8 is that it's some part of the brain

Orny92
31-12-2007, 10:32 AM
guys the booklet says "since ovulation" :stunned:

and I think Height could be a different way of writing H-8..not Height as being high...I mean...doesn't make sense pronouncing it as being high, but if you say H(and pronounce the letter)eight(8) it's ok....
ehm...sorry guys I make a lot of confusion when I speak,also in my language...imagine in English...

however it's peace and joy:)

It's in the top three, nothing else is guaranteed to cheer me up more, though the lyrics are quite bitter. But I love that about Muse, angry, acidic, defiant words, beautiful uplifting music.

Metallic. Some of their songs (though I wouldn't include Bliss in it, I don't think the lyrics are bitter, it seems quite free of the frustration/questioning/love-hate that runs through a lot of their other lyrics) But some of them are just metallic. You know - sharp, strong, edgy, tangy, reflective. Put it out there. It's good.

Nothing bitter in the lyrics, more like longing.

Bliss is ONE of the most amazing songs ever written.
Fade To Black by Metallica is THE best.

I think Facepalm by Facepalm is better than both of them combined. It's impossible to decide whether that or Banstick by The Admins is the best song ever written though.

To each is own, I guess.

I still think FtB is a masterpiece.

I'd have to agree, I dont know why everyone thinks that the lyrics are bitter because they aren't. They're actually the opposite, quite uplifting! :)

Bliss just happens to be my favourite Muse song and always will be... that doesn't make it the most amazing song of all time but :|

I happen to think Heart Shaped Box by Nirvana is.

Bliss is the best song ever written. But only for now, as Bellamy said himself he hasn't written his best song yet:eek: So look out, Bliss fans!

Also Citizen Erased is almost as good as Bliss. *Hides from tomato being thrown as well*

Bliss and Blackout are so depressing

Yes but they're really deap emotional songs sort of like drum and bass beats broken down on a rave mix sort of Take A Bow reminds me of dead star sort of muscle museum like the ones last week sort of other worldly dark disco we see these space rock prog solos sort of map of the problematique.

blackout is pretty

the music it self is depressing for me so what about the lyrics

"this love's too good last
and I'm too old to change, yeah"

"this life's too good to last
and I'm too young to care"

:supersad:

Blackout is a proper song. Not like all that usual muse wankery which I love, but have to admit is pretty shit.

Bliss is similarly incredible, but there's too many great songs out there for the thread title to be true.

Jeff Buckley's version of Hallellujah for example.
