Commonweal's getting a bit stupid.
They demolished two buildings, put up two temporary ones, and then built two new ones.

They were planning to move the school but in between steps 2 and 3 the plan failed haha.

No, I really wouldnt bother. There's not much to do here really, which is why the most frequent place I visit in Swindon is our train station!

Its one of those places people just pass through without bothering to stop...!

I actually had a taste on New College music tech when I recorded bass parts for my sister's project (ah, Knowledge by Green Day, the most boring song bass-wise ever.)

Anyway, i thought it was good but its only my AS not A2 so its not that high on my list of priorities.

but that's the thing though, people only care when out of town bands come in to play, local bands are forgotten about completely, there's a reason XTC and billie piper are our only musical exports, nothing to do with talent in the town, but when you're struggling to get 50 people to a show with local bands in a town with a population of 200,000, there's a problem somewhere.
last month at riffs, played with a band from stroud called queek, who were brilliant, but we played to practically no one. and who's going to be at the winner's lounge at the county ground on thursday? got 3 good bands on. probably no one as per usual.

yeah, boz from rag doll girl (we're pretty good friends lyk) keeps giving them gigs so i've seen them a couple of times, they're alright, feel peole are hyping them up a bit too soon, you get one or two great moments during a set, rather than 30mins of :eek::cool:

The problem with the local scene is that there isn't nearly enough publicity. Posters for events are only at the actual venues and maybe the music shop, but that only reaches a microscopic proportion of Swindoners.

It would be nice to get some REAL (as in, something other than a single column inch in size 6 font) advertisement in the Adver and things, so people other than the music regulars can hear about gigs.

In fact, i'm going to take action and write a rant for Havok.

Big scoop for Swindon to get an event like Radio 1 Big Weekend, just as shame the bands playing are crap. £1m estimate to local economy is good with Honda having to temporarily shut down. I can't see Muse playing any new stuff though, especially that early, but end of summer, Aug and Sept time they might, but even then, I reckon, they won't yet, I'm sure I heard them say they won't be doing a Debase Manson Grog sort of thing again.
