ive decided to let my partner think of a first name so that i can choose the middlename...
Toadfish!
his first name would soon be forgotten as i brought him up with the nickname toadie...id let him gorge himself on food, grow a goatee and long swamplike hair...oh, and encourage him to be rebellious during his school years but of course expect him to become a lawyer at the end of them:LOL:

Still don't want kids because the one person whom I might have considered having children with is a complete wanker who doesn't realise a good thing when he's got it but aaaanyway...
*If* I was going to have children, I have always liked Alexander for a boy but I think that'd just be a big no-no now because I'd get accused of naming him after a certain individual. I'm kind of stuck for boys names now.
I'd love to give a girl a mythology related name like Iphigenia or Persephone or Venus [even though Aphrodite is the better name but the Roman version is safer I guess] but they might get to the age of 15 and hate me for making them go to High School with such names.

Surely if you've already considered making concessions for this one guy - so relatively early in your life - it's not unlikely another guy would come along at some point, who you may also consider havign children with.
I don't think anyone can work with definates in this subject (unless you're 100% homosexual, I suppose).

Safe? Not in the schoolyard.
Safe-er, but not 100% :p. Still, a kid called Venus is less likely to get picked on than one called Aphrodite! I think a lot of the Greek goddesses have lovely names but sadly kids won't see it that way.

Hmmm, I dunno, it takes a lot for me to think "yeah I might want children one day" - I'm back to square one, completely not wanting them. If I had actually got my way and ended up with this guy, I could've seen me saying "if we're still together in a few years then maybe" - never felt that with a guy before.
But now I associate that feeling with my stupidity, so assume it was out of character, so now have no desire to even consider children. Again.

Gaia is a nice name.
Yes it is, and that's about one of the only names with roots in mythology that I see people using, other than you get the occasional Zeus in Greece I think...but that's a boring name.
Anyway, Gaia is a pretty name.
You also get more widely used names that turn up in mythological stories like Cassandra of course, I do like that name but it seems a bit "old" at the moment [as in older women are more likely to be named that] and I just associate it with doom and gloom anyway thanks to the Cassandra from Troy [as in the CITY not the film]

Well, I wanted to give my children Bible names, including any girls, but I don't like any of the female names in the Bible. However, Hope is my favourite girl's name, and there's a chapter in 1 Corinthians, that ends with the verse "So these three things conitnue forever, faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love." so, seeing as faith, hope and love are the three greatest virtues in the Bible, I thought that Hope and Faith would be nice names.

According to the Torah then Former Testament,Myriam ( in hebrew מרים - miryam ) is Moïse's and Aaron's sister,Amram's and Yokébed's daughter.
Some variant Mariam gave the greek Maria and the French Marie. The etymology is still discussed but this name might come from the egyptian Mrit ( merit ) : beloved ; or from Mar-yam in hebrew : drop.

MYRIAM
Gender: Feminine
Usage: French, English
Pronounced: MIR-ee-am [key]
Variant of MIRIAM
----------
MIRIAM
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Jewish, English, Biblical
Other Scripts: מִרְיָם (Hebrew)
Pronounced: MIR-ee-am [key]
Hebrew form of MARY used in the Old Testament, where it belongs to the elder sister of Moses and Aaron.
----------
MARY
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, Biblical
Pronounced: MER-ee [key]
Usual English form of Maria, which was the Latin form of the New Testament Greek names Μαριαμ (Mariam) or Μαρια (Maria) (the spellings are interchangeable), which were from the Hebrew name מִרְיָם (Miryam). The meaning is not known for certain, but there are several theories including "sea of bitterness", "rebelliousness", and "wished for child". However it was most likely originally an Egyptian name, perhaps derived in part from mry "beloved" or mr "love". This is the name of several New Testament characters, most importantly Mary the virgin mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene. Two queens of England have had this name, as well as a Queen of Scotland, Mary Queen of Scots.
