Nice band with some synthetic sound elements! Sound kinda 80's to me
The singing sort of reminds me of franz ferdinand, but more melodic perhaps?
I haven't heard much, only a few songs but they sound promising...
Reccomended song would be : Smile like you meant it
It sounds better than their current single to be honest

The Killers are amazing! they're even better live then recorded (still amazing recorded) and I recommend everyone goes and see's them! I've seen them 3 times (supporting british sea power in Reading, headlining at ICA in london and supporting stellastarr* in Bristol). I'll be seeing them in Reading on the 9th June as well.
They're funky, rocky and have fantastic tunes and sound nothing like shed seven :p and they're nice people as well! met them all after the Reading and Bristol gigs :D

Nah, it was downloadable for a time, then they just decided to release it as a single
Probably

They did actually realise it before on a smaller scale and they ran out of copies and it's going on ebay for up to £40 (the original) I got one in hmv myself :D the new realise is indeed a new release with a slightly edited song.
How can you abuse the voice! it's great and has charater, he sounds a bit different live as well, even better.

I love the Killers. One of my top bands at the mo. I even have one of their picks! I shall be accompanying stuey at the fez. My fave song is Jenny. It was on one of the NME cds a while back. Now called Jenny was a friend of mine.
Can't wait for the album. 7th June for all interested. :)

surfrosa scare the hell out of me :'( there is another support group as well, forgot what they're called but hey they could be good! First saw killers as a support band after all! Nice that me and han the badger will be getting the album (out 7th june) just before the gig so we'll be the ones at the front singing along madly (while wearing killers ICA 14th feb shirts).

The Killers have sold out mean fiddler and have added a date at astoria, looks like they're really strating to hit the big time. They seem to be getting the hype the thrills did, the difference being the thrills are a bit shit live and the killers are fantastic live so me thinks killers will be getting a lot bigger in the future
Richard Lane

didn't mean to be mean to them! I still think the thrills are alright I was just a bit disapointed by them when I saw them, although bizzarly I saw turn a random irish band who were genius, bought their album and that was total crap so twas the other way round from the thrills, my what a crazy world we live in.

Wasn't so sure about their support 'The Departure'. They had some good tunes but just no charisma.

He looked really scared on cd:uk and top of the pops and jools as well (although he got more confident at the end). He was really shy when me and han met him as well :) poor little chap, he seems more relaxed on the ol tours though, can't wait to see them on wednesday.

Heard Mr. Brightside on the radio - one of those 'gotta find out who this band is' kinda moments. Love the song, bought the album.... still think Mr. Brightside is the best thing on there, slight disappointment that nothing else seemed to beat or even equal it.
But then....
Saw them live at the Zap in Brighton on Tuesday - anyone else go?! Amazing. And there was me thinking they had no sense of humour.
Crazy French band after the Departures. What the hell was that about?
Since the official forums are, well, rubbish, me and a friend set up new ones, at http://killers.3.forumer.com/

Write up: They were amazing! Genius! Best performance ever. They are now much better performers, especially Brandon, who always seemed really scared before. Highlights were Mr Brightside (moshing!), Somebody Told Me, All These Things That I've Done and of course the fantastic Jenny Was a Friend of Mine. Even the less exciting songs from the album sounded absolutely amazing. Next stop, London Astoria, July 8th. get your tickets NOW! :D

what did everyone think of The Daparture? I thought they were alright but they just had no charisma. Can't see them doing especially well.
I thought The Killers were great live but the album siffers from the same problem as their setlist- it just lulls at times. The last song on the album just seems to go nowhere. Still like it though- Andy your a star is such a great song.
Not sure where they go from here. I can't see many of the other songs on the album doing well as singles.

2 - Mr Brightside

I think they may start doing random singles. They have two singles from the album already and several of the other songs have been b-sides (On Top, Smile Like You Mean It etc) so they will have to use some other stuff soon. They have other songs that didn't go onto the album as well so there's quite a lot of scope for a non album single.

What's your name supposed to mean?
Just what I was thinking...
I met them last night. Here's what I wrote on another forums :)
So me and my 2 friends arrive about an hour and a half before the doors open. We listened to the Departure's soundcheck for a bit, before taking a walk. As we got round the first corner, I saw Mark, the bassist, on his mobile phone outside a Thai restaurant. Me and my friends stayed where we were, about 15 feet away, waiting for him to finish his phonecall so we could say hi. We waited for about 15 minutes, but then he disappeared inside the restaurant. We went into the restaurant to get a drink, and saw that the whole band were sitting inside, so of course, we waited outside for them. Eventually they came out, and we got autographs and stuff, and had a talk with them. They were really cool, Ronnie and Brandon seemed the most sociable though. And Brandon said that we should've came and sat down with them in the restaurant while they were eating :( Too bloody late for that now
Anyway, the actual gig kicked arse. We were in the front row, just in the middle of Mark and Brandon, who both acknowledged us during the gig. B) The setlist was good, especially as it ended with my favourite track, 'All these things that I've done', and before that my favourite b-side, 'Under the Gun'.
The Departure were alright too, but the first support band, (Who I didn't get the name of) were great. An incredible amount of noise for just a drummer and a bassist.

Saw them (for the 5th time) at london astoria on the 8th with han the badger as always :) was the best gig I've seen by them, the crowd was amazing, moshing, crowd surfing, singing along madly and the performance was tight as hell. Brandons got so much more confidence now! I remember back when I first met Brandon sitting on a sofa near the front of the fez after supporting British sea power, he was so shy! now he know's we love him!
Also the new single as announced by Brandon himself will be "All these things that I've done" great song!

just saw the video for all these things that I've done on cd:uk hotshots and I'm in it! it's got some footage of the song at london astoria where me and han the badger were. You see a nice close up of me then a nice close up of both of us and then a nice sliding clsoe up of han! All the way us singing merrily and moshing madly. This obviously means you should all go and buy it.

It's funny you guys say that about indie rock n' roll. He said the same thing at the concert two nights ago. Which I thought was kinda strange becuase people kept shouting fo it to be played right after the first song. But the crowd went crazy when they finally did.
Ya'll are lucky I live in the us and they have only released the song "somebody told me" as a single and they barely get any radio play and every once and a while mtv will play there video. I'm not that surprised it only got to number 18 as the single didn't exactly boast some lovely new material, just all these things that I've done album and radio version a morrisey cover and the video of all these things... People would generally just be better off buying the album, wouldn't blame them! I have the album and all singles but thats just caus I'm supporting them madly. Surely they can't realease more then one more single from the album? this is already the 3rd. Just one more then go away and make some new stuff me thinks.

I love The Killers! ;)
I bought Hot Fuss nearly as soon as I heard them, which is pretty rare for me, as I usually have to really love a band to do that. I don't know what it is I love about them, but they have something. Something I like, obviously! :p
I love Jenny Is A Friend Of Mine and Andy, You're A Star. Well, I love them all. I can't say I know a lot about the band itself though, which is a bit sad.

i went to their website and listened to the little jukeboxy thing, then went into the city to my favourite record store that same day and they were playing it there. i was going ot buy it on the spot but i dropped the case and felt too ashamed to get it... so i went back the next day, took it up to the counter and said 'the case was broken' so they got me a new one.
its also very rare for me to buy albums after only hearing a few tracks of the artist. i think the killers are a band who do that to a lot of people though, they have a lot of instant appeal. and not just instant appeal-then-eventual-dislike but long lasting appeal which turns into love. aww.

The Killers are amazing!! They are my fav band. Muse at second. As you see, i love Midnight show, on top, believe me Natalie, and pretty much all of them. Midnight Show would have to my favorite....they are just wow, amazing

I only heard of the killers fairly recently when my friend introduced them to me. I love Somebody Told Me and are they releasing 'all these things that i've done'? That's a good song too.
I think their songs are different (my boyfriend reckons they sound like the offspring!  - he has only heard one song though) and the singer has a very sexy voice. Ahem. And then today i saw one of their videos and i've also discovered that he is also fairly attractive :D
Anyway, can anyone recommend any other of their songs that are worth listening to? I need to try them out before i decide to get the album!
Rebecca.

Almost had a heart attack when I found out they'd sold out in a few hours.
But do not fear, a small music store came to my rescue :D

Ok I read it in NME
They're working on a new album which according to Brandon is a lot more "stripped down and soulful" and he has recorded about 5 tracks. Also, the thing that's annoying me SLIGHTLY is the fact that they're re-releasing somebody told me, in january. Don't get me wrong it's an amazing song but, I hate it when artists re-release records!!!

lol yea i would be sayin the same thing 2 months ago, because you 'and i usually do' have a stereotypical image of music of this gendre..... but once you start to listen to them they are actually really good, the album is incredibly strong...the only song which is slightly weak is proberly Mr Brightside... its very good but you certanly have to be in the right mood for it,
but yea if you actually took time to listen to the album like i did not entirelly by choice lol, but i think you would see them in a different light.. ;)

some fucking model :indiff: . LIFES UNFAIR!!!!
"Killers frontman Brandon Flowers now has a fiancée in the form of 23-year-old Urban Outfitters manager/CCSN student/occasional CityLife model Tana Munbkowsky. No date is set, as the band's schedule remains extraordinarily hectic.
"I don't think I'd be good at planning a wedding," confesses Munbkowsky, "so I'm relieved it's not happening right away. I'm just happy to be getting married."
The husband and wife to-be are Mormons. Munbkowsky says she converted prior to meeting Flowers.
CityLife hesitates to predict who'll be wearing more make-up at the altar."

it all sounds far too ridiculous to be true. look at her name for god's sake, Tana Munbkowsky?! No real person has a name like that. BRANDON WILL NOT BECOME A MORMON! I'm thinking this is just a huge prank that the Killers are playing to have a bit of a chuckle.
