Hi, this is probably the wrong thread, but here it goes:
I'm looking for a good cover band to play at my party, in March '09; I'd love of course a few Muse covers, but not all of them. Crucially, it must be a band in the Leeds area..... and also I can't pay very much!! (please be kind, don't insult me :p).
Can you suggest anyone?
Cheers!

Hey! I spent some time on your page, this morning and..........YOU'RE REALLY REALLY GOOD!!!
In fact,.............I think you're too good for my party!:(
I mean, I don't think you're a 'party band', you sound like you should have your own albums out there!!
I need a band that can do lots of good covers, (for my own sanity!) as well as lots of 'trashy' one for the rest of the guests
Anyway, I saw you're doing a couple of gigs in Leeds this month, so you just got yourselves another fan!:D
Of course, should you consider playing the sort of covers I'm after, then I'll be very happy to do business with you!:D

They played live at loch lomonds main stage not to long ago with sex pistols and pete docherty. Kind of pop, rock stuff.

Unnamed Song (http://www.blaktornado.com/stuffz2374/song.mp3)

I was fed up of all my new music sounding like a Muse-wannabe so I did a new song in a style similar to my older music. I'm quite happy with it... even if it is only a demo. (waiting to get Logic Studio before I do anything for a proper release)

I haven't posted on this board in a while, but a lot of you peeps still know me. Anyways recently I have been working on ridiculous, epic emo music with a friend. Our whole goal is to be as generic as possible, but by trying to do so we ended up becoming somewhat original. Anyways a rough mix of our MOST EPIC song is up at:

Be prepared to shit your pants at 5:19. It is fucking epic.

if you would check us out its www.myspace.com/luciddreamsband2008

if anyone likes the stuff we have a CD which I would quite happily send to people..

apologies for shameless promotion Im just trying to guage a response to our band..the recordings on myspace arent great due to the techies we were paired with at college not being too brilliant..but we are having the songs rerecorded professionally.

i quite liked this track, i dont know what you did with the mix but it seems to get very quiet and loud between the verses and chorus, you may need to use more compression, the solo is too low in the mix, but one thing that is great is the drum mix, i always stuggle mixing drums cause i can never decide what i want to be the most audible in the mix.
the song is great i like the chord progression, the synths are great and the effects are sweet.

Thanks.

With the mixing, I basically took everything down a little bit in the verses, and then brought it up in the choruses to give it a more "explosive" sounds for the choruses. There are probably better ways of doing this with compression, as you said, but I only do this as a hobby and have no real idea what I'm doing... so it's all experimental for me.
Another thing, possibly, could be that the bass also goes up an octave in the verses too... just a thought... I'm not really sure... haha.

And I do a few live shows, but only locally with my band (where I have to share the set with the songs by the band, and not just my own music). I wish I could do more though :\ Unfortunately, that's one of the downsides of working solo.

Not bad. I feel like the vocals could flow better though.

I wish I could do more though :\ Unfortunately, that's one of the downsides of working solo.

ahh right i see. that makes sense, also you are probably right about the bass too. its one of those instruments you only miss when its gone, kinda like a cat that shits everywhere.... :P

let me know if you ever stray to somewhere in the north west and play cause i'd love to come to see that :D

Calling all Kit and Tab members!!

>>>>BUY TICKETS (http://www.glastonbudget.net/supportyourband?band=Industry)<<<<

After playing a couple of showcases in Leicester last year, we have been successful in securing a slot at this years Glastonbudget Festival which will take place on the 22-24 May!

Held at Turnpost Farm, Wymeswold, Leicestershire, UK, the Glastonbudget Festival is "Europes largest tributes and new acts festival" and is exactly what it says on the tin!

The tribute bands who play at the festival are usually professional sound-alike bands who earn a living by touring and sounding like the original band.

Hundreds of new bands also play at showcases in Leicester throughout the year and only a select few get through, and we are lucky enough to be one of them!

There are potentially two stages for us to play on, one is bigger and better than the other and has better press exposure! That's the stage we're aiming to perform on! But they only allow the top half of bands who sell the most tickets to play on that stage. The bottom half of bands who don't sell that many tickets end up playing on the smaller intimate stage.

So now we need your help!!!

If you click this link you can buy tickets to The Glastonbudget Festival through us.

>>>>BUY TICKETS (http://www.glastonbudget.net/supportyourband?band=Industry)<<<<

The more people we have buying tickets through us, the better the chance we have of being in the top half and playing the better stage.

Currently the tickets are on the "Very Early Bird" stage of sales, which means that they're currently at the cheapest they're going to be because you're buying in advance.

As time gets closer to the festival the ticket prices will go up, so it's best to buy NOW to save yourself money!!

WEEKEND tickets are currently priced at: (age dependant)

18 and over - £46.49
16-17 - £41.49
6-15 - £28.87 (must be accompanied by an adult)
0-6 - £2 (must be accompanied by an adult)

All weekend tickets include free camping and parking!!!

Cheaper "day tickets" will become available soon, but as of yet we don't know which day we're playing. We will inform you as soon as we know.

We understand that £46.49 is a lot of money to come and see us, but for a three day music festival it really is brilliant value for money!!!

The amount of bands you will see justifies the cost alone. If you were to go to Reading/Leeds Fest and see "The Killers" it would cost you hundreds of pounds. Instead, come and see professional Killers sound-alike band "The Fillers" and so many more at Glastonbudget for under £50!

BARGAIN!!

It can also be a great way to see bands that are no longer touring or are impossible to get tickets for....Queen for example!!

So here's the link again, tell all your friends to come, help us spread the word, buy them through us, and lets have an awesome music-fuelled weekend in May!

>>>>BUY TICKETS (http://www.glastonbudget.net/supportyourband?band=Industry)<<<<

For more information about the festival and who is playing, see: www.glastonbudget.net and watch this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9Z1fQMEx84

the pieces were really atmospheric, and the basslines were awesome (especially Pheromone and Adrenaline!!!)

my only (constructive!) criticism would be that they were all a bit too repetitive and a few new sections within the songs and possibly some vocals wouldnt go wrong!!!

I really like the song. But theres one thing, and please dont take it offensive, but either you need to tone it down, or the rest of the band need to tone it up. Theres nothing wrong with all these movey stuff your pulling off, but with your bassist and singer glued to the spot, it makes you the odd one out, and its not a good look when theres one guy really into and the rest not.
