He owns Station 22 edit and effects, His name is Noah. They do TV, DVD and web videos as well as audio. He actually wrote one of the tunes on High School Musical three. Really talented guy and fun to work with.

I'm listening on my laptop shitty speakers and I can still hear this bass tone trying to prod me in the ear drum. I can't listen to the other songs because I know it'll be the same on all of them. Get him to sort it out FS.

EDIT: I only comment on shit I can hear real potential in by the way, sorry to be so negative.

I think they have a lot of potential. I am so fussy with what I listen to, but I didn't skip any of that. The song structure is great, can definitely hear the radiohead influences and loved the trem guitar in New Towers.

I don't currently have a band :(

But I write and record music regardless - this is my latest work in progress

and I've finished recordings of several others on my youtube channel:

I dig it. :) I really think the vocals work well together. Maybe when you have it mastered you can add more/different harmonies. With that duo you could pull off something wicked. Harness the power. ;)

More of a fan of Bitter End than Here Tonight mainly cause of that little solo guitar and ending riff. It seems to have a little bit more go which got me hooked.

Had a gig last night, went pretty good, we arranged everything ourselves and there was a big band playing in a vanue nearby so we were really not expecting too mucht people, but still w got a good 200 :) which is a really good amount for bands our size.

As I said, gig went pretty nicely, recordings were made I believe, will see if I can get my hands on it.
Both that and it was our first proper gig with a new bandmember on keys.
That and we're getting a better view as to where we want to go with our music, we played Rise Against, The Killers, Muse, Editors and white lies and stuff, pretty random.
We'll probably drop the Rise Against stuff, as I play guitar and sing and those song are too exhausting and you're stuck to the mic the whole time.
But we're attracted to synths and stuff too actually, might buy a Korg R3 or something.

Anyway, might be able to FINALLy show something of my own band.

Hey guys, these are the last two songs ever from my college band. give 'em a listen

http://soundcloud.com/bransonny/sets/sirens-you-had-me-at-goodbye-single

produced and engineered by myself
mixed and mastered by Beau from Saosin.

I dime'd my Oranges to track those guitar parts. Pretty gnarly guitar tones.

I am also heavily considering doing a limited pressing to 7" vinyl.

the vocals seem a bit quiet on Sirens.. to me at least...? otherwise the mix sounds pretty good. not my style of music though haha

Here's my cover band doing Under Pressure by Queen/David Bowie.

There are no real amps on this recording. The Bass is a Musicman Stingray V into a POD and all of the guitars are done by me with my Suhr guitar and my AxeFX Ultra. I did two tracks with an AC30 sound and then laid and additional track of a Plexi (I call it Plex Luther) plus the solo, which was also the Plexi sound with the Midboost preamp on my Suhr engaged a little bit.

Enjoy.

that would be awesome. SD is my favorite album of all times.

what type of fuzz are you gonna use? ive found that fuzz face into a big muff can get some great SD tones. also, keep tone at 1 o-clock on the BMP for that sound

Perhaps unsurprisingly I'm recording parts on a click and layering them.

Different woods and p/ups. Fuck knows how it will turn out.

Unsurprisingly my drumming is ULTRAMEGASHIT

Thank you, that's definitely what I would hope to achieve. It's very, very nearly finished now, I put together a rough draft of the 3rd Movement last night (a whopping 10.5 mins long!) so now I just have to tweak and refine a few passages in that and then make a decent quality recording of the whole thing.

No worries, just being honest. It has some great "Beethovian" undertones which for me is a very good thing! Is it your first classical piece or have you composed others?

I've been working on a symphonic piece for about 5 years now, but this is my first solo piano piece that I've written, a lot of my other songs have some very classical influences either in terms of chord progression or string/piano sections. Classical music is my favourite genre at heart

Yes it reminds me of the "mood" of some of Beethoven sonatas like Moonlight Sonata or Pathetique... not sure how to explain I just get the same vibe when I listen to yours. That symphonic piece sounds really interesting I hope you get it finalised and recorded.

I do love the more melancholic or darker tones of a lot of Beethoven's Sonatas. Nearly everything I write is quite melancholic or tragic sounding..

Ohh I will finish the orchestral piece eventually don't worry and could probably send you snippets to listen to soon if you wanted

Yeah I've done band gigs with covers, even open mic nights where I've done a few acoustic sing, strum jobbies, but this was massively different. But I've got a taste for it now!

Thanks!

We used multiple effects on bass for each track. We had roughly three bass tracks with different effects going at the same time. The main bass sound is DI'd through a Sansamp, and split to a Bhudda Bassdriver through a GK amp with matching cab, with an SM57 placed right at the speaker cone.

The fuzzy stuff was with a big muff through the GK, and a Digitech Bass Synth straight into the desk. We also used a EHX Bass Microsynth during the 9/8/9/7 breakdown where there's just bass and drums.

you have ENORMOUS potential. i think you should rearrange your track order on sound cloud because the first one, dont take this the wrong way, was really boring - it needs to be varied, its too samey all the way through. i listened to that and thought "oh, i dont want to hear the rest, they're all gonna be like that" but i was wrong, the rest were really good, you just need to develop them more. you've got some powerful riffs there and they sound insane! the piano one at the end i was really impressed by, you are good at piano if you can write that. i thought the bass sound was cool, it suited your songs - very gritty.
i use Cubase studio 5, i love it... my stuff pretty mediocre but i should upload it.

This song is one of 3 songs that he wrote for his mom for a mini album. This one was supposed to stay real light until the very end with a slight change up, no big dynamic shifts! We had a Kid A type thing in mind.

We got a bass player last week, so it's starting to fill the songs much better!

If you wonder about the title, it's part of the concept album and book I am writing now:)

Yeah, the drums aren't real. They're taken straight out of Guitar Pro 6.

All instruments played by me, except some parts here and there :)

Produced by me, written by me, recorded by me. ^_^
