I picked up "Psyence Fiction" a few weeks ago...and I've truly become a fan!!!! With the truly stunning "Rabbit In Your Headlights" featuring Thom Yorke from Radiohead on vocals, this is a haunting song that will never leave you!
Also, I do like "Never, Never, Land"...although nothing as memorable as "Rabbit", it is a far more consistent and lighter album to listen to!!!
Any UNKLE fans here?

Yeah, "Rabbit" is great, but I've heard only 2 or 3 their songs. I remember now "Invasion" and "Reign" (it's quite nice) from Never Neverland. However I cannot say that Unkle is my fave band (is one of them but not the only), because I haven't known their all composition yet... Maybe it will be changed?... Although I'm almost sure that the "Rabbit..." 'll have been in my mind till my death. :)
.......Lately I've heard a lovely Doves' song - "The man who told everything" from Lost Souls (US Version). Maybe have you heard it ?

Yeah, it's between sounds of Radiohead, Elbow, The Verve, Oasis and also Unkle. "Lost Souls" (Oct 2000) is their first album. I haven't known their all songs from it yet, but I think that "The Man Who Told Everything" is one of the lightest moments on this album. It's quite simple, but Jimi Goodwin's voice sounds so nice. At the beginning I can hear here some sounds like wind's whistles :) It's great melody, it's not too complicated, even so I like this one, because I think that a beauty inheres in simplicity. And here you're others songs: "Cedar Room", "Sea Song". I haven't heard the new thing of Doves - "Last Broadcast"(2002), but I'm going to do that soon :) yeah and that's it...

If you like Shadow - pick up Never, Never Land which is the first UNKLE album - his solo albums are cool too. But try RJD2 this man sounds a bit like Shadow and is a legend!

Psyence Fiction is the first UNKLE album and it features lots of DJ Shadow. People similar(ish) to DJ Shadow include RJD2, Prefuse 73 and Amon Tobin.

I was told to the contrary but i'll believe you - i'm new to UNKLE as a whole and only found out that psyence fiction was shadow about a month ago so I assumed that Never, Never Land was the same - who was the driving force behind the first album???
P.s. Am loving Josh Homme's guest appearance!

It's Richard File on Never, Never, Land. James Levelle doesn't seem to do much.

Generic rock/pop. Quite good for that, but totally not UNKLE. Weak compared to Never, Never, Land and Psyence Fiction.
However if you were lucky enough to pre-order the Ltd edition you'd have got the 3rd CD (exclusive to pre-orders from the official site only), and in that you get this track (if Wikipedia is correct which is always open to question)...
A Wash of Black (Instrumental Unkle Remix of Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole")
Really annoyed I didn't pre-order it now:(
Anyway, ordered Self Defence: Never, Never, Land Reconstructed and Bonus Beats, which is a 3 CD remix of Never, Never, Land and other stuff, and it's actually rather good. Could listen to that for ages.
Also worth getting is Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats? which is 3 CDs of DJ mix. Very good.

haha, that's a really cool name.
I like War Stories, there's nothing that majorly stands out for me though. I'm just about to put the self defence box onto my laptop and give it a listen

Unkle has revealed details of his forthcoming album, which features guests including Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age, White Denim and Black Mountain.
James Lavelle and co will put out 'End Titles… Stories For Film' in the UK on July 7, with a US release date to be determined shortly.
Song titles include 'Heaven', 'Blade In The Black' and 'Trouble In Paradise'.
According to Unkle's website, the new album is "a collection of eclectic recordings from Unkle and various collaborators that were inspired by the moving image in the last two years since 'War Stories'."

Was James Lavelle the special guest at the Stonebridge bar at Glastonbury? there seems to be some confusion. If it is, he seems to have grown an afro since I last saw them live.

What are peoples opinions on Where Did The Night Fall? I still strongly think Psyence Fiction and Never, Never Land are the best of UNKLEs stuff. NNL being one of my favourite albums. I bought Psyence Fiction on 12" today :D I want the NNL Ltd vinyl set. Only 250 of them made.

I quite enjoyed the new album, preferred War Stories and Psyence Fiction. Still some cracking tunes on the new album.
I think my favourite UNKLE track will always be Keys to the Kingdom or In A State.

Need to listen to it again. It seemed pretty bland.
PF and NNL are definitely the best though.
The Unklesounds mixes are good too.

I loved Psyence Fiction & Never Never Land. Both are totally distinct albums due to personnel & vision, but both are great.
War Stories was a decent album, but definitely indicated a move in a different direction (UNKLE would be an awesome alt rock group with Gavin Clark as full-time vox IMO).
I don't really enjoy Where Did the Night Fall as much - it is professionally executed, but just seems to lack some spark & spirit.
