Because it means we can change our displayed name all the time according to how we feel Not like on here where its a chore to get them changed if you get sick of your username. You do it yourself.

Don't be so goddamn picky on MY forums! :p

And its so people can't steal usernames as well. its easier to hack if your username and log in name are exactly the same.

It's not bad. It's not brilliant. It's okay. The re-worked songs are hmm not as good bit there are little bits in the tracks that have improved on before but overall not that great. The later tracks don't sound like Kasabian at but like something from a lost sub-standard Primal Scream album. Other tracks are lovely & some of those tracks jsut don't work live at all, sadly. I found myself a little bored watching them particular tracks last week but the singles were great & a few others. Lovely guys, though.

yeah they're ok

we served them a month or so ago when they came into the shop hehe... went on the internet though, didn't buy any DVDS awww... and interestingly enough only the other Chris recognised them at first it wasn't until he prompted me that I did.

His 'band alarm' went off as he called it. Bunch of hairy blokes with a hat, I was ready to get security on em.

The reworking of the songs hasn't done the tracks justice I reckon. Some of the songs are gorgeous, ID and in my opinion U-Boat, also despite the remix, Cutt Off doesn't seem half bad. The absolute belters like RiT (only the remix mind) and Processed Beats still sound good (abeit a tad toned down for my liking), and I've really taken to Clubfoot as one of those essential poppy crowd pleasers. But wouldn't say its one of the stronger ones in my "album of the year" list, but its not half bad.

But I got news earlier tonight that the album went to gold (100,000 copies) so it can't have been all that bad. They did alright with the debut, and better than some bands could dream of achieving.

I would, but my uncle's computer speakers are well, non-existant. And I don't have my own computer anymore... I'll probably end up getting it with birthday money or something later on. Don't want to waste what little money I have at the moment on albums I'm not entirely sure about. Plus, Interpol's new album next week, which is shaping up to be well, great.

The fact that they take pride in being an emo-kid and think it's cool to be uncool which is somehow also cool ( ) bugs me. Their melodramatic ways tend to be serious, whereas everyone else, uses it for fun or for compliments. Or just to be a pure bitch in many cases, too.

I think some of Kasabians success is owed partly to their image & attitude. The musics good, I love their album, but the die-hard indie look and 'bleeding rock n roll' image makes them more appealing to the mainstream, imo.

glasskite
15-10-2004, 08:48 PM
Its alllllllll about the decent promotion and seeping into the conciousness. They've had a fucking good marketing team and promotion through word of mouth way before they even started getting in the NME.

Image is everything nowadays.

And they have that cocky swagger thing that makes people either love or hate them.

And downloading is bad kids.

Paul
16-10-2004, 12:11 AM
arrgh why do i keep missing things like this.. grr, when was this then?

Ages ago. I had just heard of them then, but not heard the music - they just started up on the stage.

There was some lass in the audience with a big Kasabian flag waving it around constantly, pushing the brand about a bit.

And downloading is bad kids.

Do you actually believe that? I've bought shit-loads of albums on the back of downloading. I just wouldn't take the risk of buying an album wihout knowing what to expect otherwise.
