Very solid "post-metal" atmospheric music. I only bought an album of theirs afew days ago after a recommendation to listen to them because of Isis.
I like these abit more than Isis mainly because they dont have those shouty vocals that you cant make out.

jesu ruuuuullle! Conqueror I am finding really hard to get into, like the last EP but I love Heart Ache EP and Silver, they're totally , Heart Ache is my favourite especially though, 2 twenty minute-long songs and they're just compelling from start to finish.
I'm really going to try and see Justin play with jesu and maybe play some Final if I'm lucky.. hopefully this year.
I am a big fan of Godflesh too... and How do they remind people of Isis? I can't see it...

It's probably because part of Isis is in Jesu..

Musically, or something else? I can hear so many bands in Jesu's music including a fair chunk of Broadrick's previous ambient and industrial projects.. but hardly any Isis, especially now, I could see where people were coming from if they're referring to Heartache EP or the s/t.
But nonetheless.. both are intense bands in their own right :)
I really can't stop listening to Walk On Water... so bloody delicate, but so distorted. If they don't come to Manchester with Isis soon, I'm gonna go nuts.
So far only heard the title track of "Conqueror" on pitchforkmedia. I think I'll wait for the release to hear the rest.
I definitely need to hear more Broadrick material though, his new project Grey Machine involving Aaron Turner could be interesting.
Apparently an Isis UK tour is being planned for May/June :D Jesu supporting would be nice. If Isis return to Bournemouth it will probably make my year

This summer? Fuck yes! I'm pretty syked about this Grey Machine, Turner, Broadrick and Stephen O' Malley (I think?) = lotsa droooool
and you really should check out some of JK's other stuff, he set up a few myspace pages recently for his main projects..
Final - http://www.myspace.com/officialfinal (awesome ambient stuff that he started when he were just a wee nipper)
GodFlesh - http://www.myspace.com/godfleshfans (just.. pure.. heavy.)
there's a few more of his projects in the top of the Godflesh top friends thingy... he's done too much stuff though. Head Of David might be worth a shot too...

Was that to me?
Physically, I meant.

Well, the US tour has turned into a bit of a mess!
Was exchanging E-mails with Justin the other day... said he's in NYC at the moment (I think) BUT they're not to play there until the 14th!
(if you ain't got a fucking clue what I'm on about; http://justinkbroadrick.blogspot.com/)
I feel sorry for all the US peeps who've missed their shows, poor Justin K as well.. same shit happened with Godflesh.
Bought "Conqueror" a couple of weeks ago.
To me it gets better with each listen.

There's 2 nice new releases out this month! :D and ANOTHER tour of USA, as well as Europe to follow and some time soon, Japan/Oz.
First off; Lifeline EP, pre-orders on HydraHead (www.hydrahead.com) will begin on 26th Oct, it's already leaked and it's fuckin' blindin'. Four tracks of a new side to jesu, a bit more folkier than Conqueror and more formulaic - also has one track with Jarboe on vocals which is also killer if you've heard of her.
And look out for Pale Sketches, it's something like 8 tracks of very old jesu material, very different from the jesu we know now and very interesting. The CD can be ordered from Justin's web label: http://www.avalancheinc.co.uk, best not to order right now though because of the current Postal strike :-/
oh and did anyone buy the Jesu/Eluvium 12" in July? Also a great EP.. I didn't like the last Jesu album but they've evolved once again into something better.
It's getting impossible to keep up with all the new stuff coming out this year...

Just listened the Lifeline EP for the 1st time.
The first 2 tracks seem pretty similar to Conqueror but a bit more polished and an improvement in my opinion :D
But "Storm Comin' On" & "End of the Road" are even better :)

details?
'In March 2009, Broadrick announced that a new one-song LP, titled Infinity, was scheduled for release through his own Avalanche Recordings label in June 2009. It was also announced that a new EP, titled Opiate Sun, would follow in July 2009. The EP had originally been mentioned in 2008 but a title and official release date had yet to be announced. It is known that this EP will be the first studio recording to feature the lineup of Justin Broadrick, Dave Cochrane and Phil Petrocelli. Hydra Head will also be re-releasing CD versions of the Heart Ache EP and the Jesu/Envy split 12" album. The Heart Ache re-release will contain a second disc featuring an unreleased EP from 2003, while the Jesu/Envy re-release may be released with a previously unreleased bonus mix. [2]'
