Please be true!!!!!!???!!
If it's the works of Nenas again, then....don't get our hopes too high
No, I haven't got Backspacer yet, according to my bro he couldn't find it anywhere here...(but he already downloaded it). I have yet to listen to it though..

I've only seen Season 1.. did they censor a lot on Cinemax? lol. I want to watch season 2!! but with all the new shows out now, omg, my internet connection is so slow lately from all the downloading sprees haha. Season 2 any good? I read a bit on the True Blood thread on the board, they said Season 1 was better hmmm.
Good luck with your finals! :) You can dooo ittt!
Lol, yes, they censored a loooot. Oh? I dunno, I'm enjoying S2 as much as I enjoyed S1, both are awesome imo :D
Thank you! It's finally OOVEEERR!!!
I stopped watching Heroes since Chapter 4. Fugitives just felt kinda boring to me. Is it still any good? I feel like Heroes have lost their charm :(
Yeah I feel a very hiphop/r&b vibe from UD too, so maybe it'll be a single! Sorry to say but i have a feeling Resistance might be a single too! Since they played it live for the VMAs :( sorry kak faz. Its already kinda spoiled for me too cause my friend, who is like only into teeny bopper crap and stuff thats on the radio, LOOOOOOOOOOOOVES Resistance :'(
I stopped watching Heroes too! K.
OHNOEZ. That is horrible..can't stand it when teeny-bopper-crap listeners start humming Muse songs, like, *SPOIL*.
i don't want MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection to be a single too! lwah.. i think am pretty greedy eh? don't want to share my fav songs from TR with anyone else! lol
I wish they won't play ANY songs from TR. Only we get to listen to it. *sticks tongue out*
Did you guys hear the New Moon remix of IBTY??
HORRENDOUS!!!R!

Aida, thanks for the link. i wish the article mentioned the exact date of PJ's concert here rather than just saying next month! my guess -- IF they're really coming that is-- it'll be at the end of Nov right after their NZ dates. but am not holding my breath for this. very skeptical la.. i hate rumours! :(
btw, i saw Backspacer at rock corner yesterday. i didn't buy it tho.. :stunned:
Green Day in Singapore? i used to like them, but dunno if i still have money left at that time. am really looking forward for a vacation in early december. i hope i won't miss PJ if they decide to come here.

A quick one...
ANDREW BIRD !!!!!
After missing Damien Rice in 2006, I don't think I can ever let this pass! Thing is, I'm also looking at a possible gig @ Wembley in Jan 2010 (fingers crossed...but I don't think it's gonna happen :( ) If I were to travel across the causeway to sg for Andrew Bird though, might as well stay there for a whole month since there are so many gigs lining up in that month!!! January 2010 is also known as International DOGASS (Day Of Gigging Around Splendid Singapore) month, apparently

Wow.. I dont know why but that sounds so romantic to me lol! Like what you see in the movies, then you two spend the rest of your lives trying to find each other and once you do you have this uber dramatic kiss!
... Unless she's a girl. Then you two just move on with your lives without any thoughts of "what could have been" unless you swing that way?
Okay i'm gonna shut up now. Pardon my delirium, it comes with working nonstop for the whole weekend, and then going job hunting today. i'm so tired :'(
Anyway, on a more serious note, did he/she mention anything about posting here? :) he/she could be like you! you didnt post on here until i asked you on my blog right? eh heh.
ok this is like a belated post...but...the muse fan girl i sat next to on the plane found me, on my blog o_O wonders of the internet! i tried googling "muse", my name, my uni and "plane" but i don't even get my blog. don't know how o_o
anyway! just wanted to say that :D

I knew that you would want to go. :p What gig do you want to go to at Wembley? I'm going to be in London the day that Pet Shop Boys play, but I won't be able to go. It's also the day after the Horrors play, and I would be able to go to that. :'( And then there aren't any more gigs there for the time I'm there. -sigh- I never knew that January was known as DOGASS. There are a few more gigs there than usual though. Regardless, I'm sure you'll have an awesome time in London! Well, they're both entirely different genres, can't really categorize them ;) Jesse Lacey (lead singer of Brand New) and I unfortunately have too much of a history together lol. I'll see how things work out in the 2nd half of December. Are the Andrew Bird tix up for sale btw?
Waldo

Definitely! :D Haha yep. I don't think so, they go for sale in November I think, possibly with the tickets for the other acts from the Mosaic fest.

@Nut : The audio clip sounds very much like...Citizen Erased!
Congratulations to those who got their albums!
YOU GUYS, guess what happened at school today.
Ok, during assembly, we had some musicians perform for us. 2 of them played traditional Chinese instruments, and the other two [if you guys know the show 'Anugerah', my friends told me that they (Romey and Buggy) are from the band 'Helven'. I don't know who they are 'coz I don't watch that show ] played guitar and bass. So they played some covers, and it was nice and all, and all the while I was thinking, "Hmm, wonder what it'd be like if they played a Muse song" / "Hmm, wish they'd play some Muse".
THEN SUDDENLY the guys said,
"This is the last song, its a cover of the song ASSASSIN by the band MUSE."
And as soon as I heard that, a surge of adrenaline pulsated in me, and without much thought,
I screamed / shrieked.
Very loudly.
The other 300+ students were not cheering or anything, and suddenly they heard a very loud shriek from the back..A few heads turned to look at me. I was like :$, but at the same time
I was in serious SHOCK / AWE lol. Like, who would play Muse? ASSASSIN? So I was singing along to the song, but my whole body felt weak, and I was shaking and blushing and hyperventilating lol. Some of my friends around me were giggling / looking at me like I was some sort of major MAJOR freak. :$
I was still shaking when I was making my back to class, and was rambling to my friend about how massive a Muse fan I was, and I couldn't stop grinning the whole time! :p I texted Nut as soon as I went out of school. Just needed to tell one of you guys! And my hands were still shaking, and throughout the whole journey back I was trying to stop myself from grinning!
Oh, it was an acoustic cover of Assassin. It was rather nice :) (or I was just too bloody excited). I'm still in a bit of a daze, the whole thing was so...surreal!
At first I thought of how mega embarrassing / potentially embarrassing the whole thing was. But then I thought about it again, and said to myself, "So what, I love Muse. And I'd scream for them in a hall of 300+ people where everyone is quiet. And I'm proud of it."
Still, I'm a bit
It seems my friend's relative's friend's (or s'thing like that) knows the two guys, and meets up with them sometimes. I was thinking of writing a letter to them, to like, thank them for playing the song or something. Should I? ..or would that be just plain silly...
Made my day (:
I know this is an old post, sorry! But just had the time to read all the previous post. >.o
Lol.... Noor, if I was in your position, I would be shrieking too spontanously without thinking at any event in my hotel if someone played Muse songs. and I would have to  but damn  bloody excited at the same time :D:LOL:

A song by Muse called "Soaked" is listed in the Warner/Chappell Music song catalogue. To hear a 30 second clip, register here (http://www.warnerchappell.com) and search for "Muse" or "Soaked".
A cover of the song by Adam Lambert (http://twitter.com/adamlambert/status/5233064095) will appear on his upcoming album.
*yeah, got it.. it's 04:39 long.. (ketawa riang ria!) :D
a bit info about SOAKED :
Name Soaked
Length 4:39
Recorded 2006 *In the songs metadata the date of the song is automatically set to 2006 suggesting that it could be from the Black Holes and Revelations era!
Matt Bellamy spoke breifly about it in the Japanese magazine “Crossbeat”.
"I wrote a song called ‘Soaked’ when we were making Black Holes and Revelations, it is just like ‘Nikita’ by Elton John or one of those kind of tunes from the 80s. According to our publisher, it’s an Adam Lambert-esque song, who took the second place in American Idol. I want to write various genres of music, classical music, pop music, and anything. I suppose Muse have the clear distinction that we must not go overboard, however, I sometimes cross that threshold as a songwriter. When I’m about to do so, it's made clear thanks to Chris and Dom.”

Don't want to sound like I'm getting hopes high for nothing but LAMC teased us with this on their facebook:
"Stay tuned for a major announcement on our first show of 2010! You won't be disappointed. (Hint - We've brought them to Singapore before. Check our past shows over last 5 years). Suggest our page to all your friends!"
And then this:
"Mark your calendars right now!!! Prepare yourselves for a BIG NIGHT OUT at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on February 3rd, 2010! \m/ \m/"

MUSE ARE GOING TO BE PLAYING AT BIG NIGHT OUT (I still can't help but laugh every time I heard mention of that lousy excuse of a festival. BDO rip-off, last year's consisted of TWO nights that were separated by weeks, and each one was just like a regular concert) IN SINGAPORE INDOOR STADIUM ON FEBRUARY 3RD.

I want to see Yeah Yeah Yeahs but I can't because I'll be abroad. :'( But oh well. -shrugs- I ALREADY ASKED MY MUM AND SHE SAID I CAN FLY OVER TO SINGAPORE IN FEBRUARY TO SEE MUSE OMG. For once, I love my braces because it gives me an excuse to fly over randomly to see good gigs. ;)
And there's like a 98% chance I'm going to see Franz Ferdinand in two weeks!
Franz and Muse are tied as my favourite band along with Radiohead, and Franz were the first good band who I got into, and if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be listening to anything that I listen to now, so I am ridiculously ecstatic.

Could someone please take me in while I stay in Singapore for one whole month next year? Cause I would be effing broke, and my cousin would be awfully annoyed if I travelled to and fro so many times. YEAH YEAH YEAHS and ANDREW BIRD AND NOW MUSE?!?!??! THIS IS CRAZYYYY THEY'RE PLAYING HERE AGAIN AHHHHH!!
I can feeeeeeel it... Malaysia's date is only in a matter of time before being announced! *fingers crossed* We'll get TWO gigs then, yeah? :D:D:happy:
Franz Ferdinand! Tee, I'm so glad you're finally seeing the band that changed your music perception in life. I know how that feels hehe. Have fun!! and be safe.
Kay-a/Nut thanks for the constant Muse updates in this thread btw! :] Life's been a bitch lately, well it should be according to my conscience, but it appears that I'm enjoying it a little too much. :(
-------------
Did you see the suspenders Tyson wore in that Batu Caves pic??! You should've wore yours hehe. Lol I honestly dunno who's this Malaysian person asking all these bands to go to Batu Caves. I'm glad they find it fascinating though, but oh God, it's so near my college, if only I knew earlier. Also, they were staying at Nikko Hotel, just like Switchfoot! (though a bit too late for that now...)
I wouldn't call em as stalking skills lol, more like... being an opportunist and making use of information available ;)
I just listened to the bootleg I made, it's power packed with screams unfortunately, but I love the little Halloween tuned-down set they did for our gig. I'll get it up as soon as I can for anyone who wants it, but I doubt I'll hv the time to edit, so it's just gonna be the raw files.
Some of the random quotes from an equally high Tyson (as the MTV Worldstage gig):
"There, I see a witch. Owait... That's a wizard, not a witch! Sorry sir." LOL
"You guys are so fuc..... crazy" Hahahha, I noticed how Tyson pulled the microphone away and back as he said the word. ;)
That long wait for them to show up was a little uncalled for (AAR should hv the courtesy of showing up no later than 930pm lol) Even though I entered the gates late, I felt annoyed. Maybe because there were too many opening acts. One would've sufficed. Two, max. They listed three and had 3 other singers fr other bands covering certain songs for the final group. Simply asking for trouble, I say. With all due respect though, go malaysian bands! (but not Pop Shuvit) Eh sure sounds like I'm contradicting myself there hmm. Brain must be shutting down.
Tyson's antics on stage didn't frighten me as much (ironically on Halloween lol) as the first time. I came a lot more prepared, knowing what to expect, and not expecting much. Boy, did they prove me wrong this time round. Opening number was Move Along and immediately they gained plus points fr me because I thought they'd only play it as the encore or something..so I was caught a little off guard. I won't go into details for every song and the technical glitches that were plentiful throughout the night (missed drum beat, wrong key of music with Tyson's vocals [due to their change in tuning a few steps down for the Halloween touch], Tyson not hitting notes etc) but rather the very presence of AAR on stage that was enough to drive the very young crowd into a frenzy. It has converted a lot of casual listeners into proper fans, and I suppose that is the ultimate goal anyway for concerts such as these. So they came and delivered a promising performance for the (allegedly) 15,000 strong crowd. Wonderful to hear Swing Swing live together with my friends, rather nostalgic moment there and having My Paper Heart played right after that was a HUGE surprise. Don't even get me started with The Last Song (or maybe you should )
Setlist as below, with Halloween tricks up their sleeves:
1. Move Along
2. Falling Apart
3. Dirty Little Secret
4. Swing Swing

All in all, it was a fun night getting dressed up for Halloween (hee) and for once completely forgetting that outside of music, my life is in shambles. What more could one ask for than a good night out with friends while observing a whole new generation of listeners, yeah?

@Liz Woah if there's a KL gig for Muse I'm definitely there!:D Hope that'll happen.
@Tee Maybe swimming might help you grow taller eh? heh heh. :D Right now I can't really feel excited for YYY when I know Muse are coming. But seriously, LAMC haven't officially announced it, so there's a slight sense of wariness in me. Tension, tension.

I'd like to see the videos/audio if you dont mind haha. You can take your time though if you're busy with classes and all. no rush :) I still cant believe they played "The Last Song" and "My Paper Heart"!!! aaaaah <3 seriously so happy. Best setlist ever. Nut, Oh man I hope LAMC confirm this singapore gig asap. I want to start planning already! I missed their singapore gig 2 years ago even after buying tickets, i dont want to miss it again! aaah. I'm gonna get seated tickets, because, no offence intended, but i'm afraid of the singapore crowd haha. I heard scary stories from von (vspirit) about how rowdy they were, aku takut :$

This time you'll try the nasi lemak ayam at BRJ instead of just a roti canai, yeah? ;)
For now Muse still remain gigless in Feb... I'm sure a deal of sorts would get through eventually. Remaining hopeful that it's Muse! Also sending more mails to LAMC's Laurrieta :D
You're planning to go for Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Me too  I can't wait to hear Maps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pUhZwAhFew) live. I watched Karen O belt out a few songs live before on tv, gosh, was she weird, but in a good way lol. I missed Stars this year, wouldnt wanna miss a great start for 2010 with Yeah Yeah Yeahs... Still have to see how things turn out end of this year though before confirming :(

If we were to all go in a group, I think that shouldn't be too bad. Then again, there were stories about that boy of 8 who broke his ribs during the Muse sg gig :o For all the gigs at Singapore that I've went to though, they were ironically the most polite crowd lol an awesome lot. Perhaps a lot has to do with the venue at Fort Canning Park which was downhill. Well, since this is at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, it should be relatively better (and flatter).

Aiyo how adorable, that's an awesome costume! If Matt could see you there he'd be very proud lol. Ben Barnes too, for that navy blue pair of chucks ;) I love that V neck guitar shirt (mainly cause that guitar looks a hell lot like the one I have haha)
What did you dress as btw?
The OTH thing was a bit too much trouble, so in the end... I guess to put it down to words (you asked lol), I was a cross between a French stereotype (hence the beret), a chef (also the beret), a Rennaissance painter, a political movement and an idiot who wore a skirt to a concert. Boy, doesn't that scare you already? Haha. I decided to go French because of this (http://www.spinner.com/2008/11/12/all-american-rejects-forgiven-by-french-thanks-to-obama/) article (actually it doesn't make sense) and also because my sister has a beret bought from France that she hardly uses so it was convenient to use it (ah, now it does). However, it started raining the moment I walked past the gates so I took off the beret, and in the end I just looked like someone who just came back from 9 hours of class (which was the case really haha)
I'd like to see the videos/audio if you dont mind haha. I can't wait to upload the audio actually (although i didn't filter the screams). Connection's way too slow at the moment though sigh.
I was grinning silly when the first keyboardish parts of The Last Song came on. I tried so hard to contain my excitement and Tyson kept on teasing us yeah? I love how he amended the lyrics at the beginning and sang, ".... when I sing this song for you ... and just for Malaysia!!" (instead of "and only you") I fell apart literally haha. I forced myself to muffle down my singing throughout the set because of my attempt to bootleg, but then when TLS came on, aiiiihhh cannot tahan dy (or perhaps I forgot) and you can listen to my crappy tuneless voice singing in the recordings.
and during that strings/guitar combo interlude leading to the climax... :awesome: I looked at my friend, she looked back and we just ... fell silent in awe.
and what do you mean by tuning down for Halloween?
Erm, well sometimes they play like creepy eerie tunes right? I assumed that's in a key lower than usual, before launching into the proper song. If you listen closely though, sometimes when they launch into the proper song, the first note does not match with Tyson's vocals. Perhaps it was just me being tone deaf after escaping a crowd of screaming tweens.

Am I missing something here? Since when were Placebo going to Jakarta!? :stunned::eek:
Liz, are you also going to see Cat Power and Andrew Bird? That would be an amazing January.
I think he broke his ribs only because he could have been smaller than an average 8 year old boy or something, like really tiny and 4'0. And he was probably stuck in the middle of the pit, the nearer to the front or back the safer it is I reckon. Still though, he would probably break his ribs at any other Muse gig.
Singapore Indoor Stadium has a 9+ age limits for seats and 12+ age limits for the pit I think, to avoid things like that ^^^ And I find the crowd in Singapore a bit boring to be honest...:(

Yes, Placebo's heading back there Feb 16th 2010!
That's the thing, if I'm going for YYY, might as well stay on for Cat Power and Green Day held the next two days, right? If i'm already there in sg for the whole weekend... I might just wait for the next weekend for the Andrew Bird gig! :( Right now however, things aren't looking too good. I might end up not attending all of the above! Sigh.
Did you follow Neil Gaiman's tweets while he was in sg with Amanda Palmer?
Yeah, usually moshing start from the centre middle part of the crowd. It's pretty easy to spot these bunch of moshers too, so don't stand too near them, find couples or girls standing together, that's the trick ;) Breaking of a rib during a Muse gig is actually pretty cool la... I mean, that boy could grow up to wear a shirt that says "I broke my rib at a Muse gig" or something.
I love the sg crowd cause they know when to keep quiet during certain songs lol. We don't get much "quietness" here in Malaysia... As proven in the Explosions in the Sky gig... Gotta love that Msian crowd energy sometimes though!

 If Muse come to Jakarta, it might be around that time too....I want to see them both! But if I could only choose between Muse and Placebo I'd have to choose Muse.
:( I hope you get to go to all of them! I arrive on the day that Green Day play...which annoys me because I don't like them and I'd be able to see them, but I wouldn't be able to see Cat Power or Yeah Yeah Yeahs before!
Yes, I followed the two of them! Jealous of everybody that saw them. :(
 Yep. Most of the people at the back are just people waiting for other people, because usually when fans get there late they push through to as far forward as they can get. And at the front it's too tight to mosh or even move at times! I agree, I broke my pinky finger on a maths textbook without realising it until a couple of years later. Breaking a rib because of Muse > maths textbooks. :p
That's true...but I think it's more so because they're quite throughout the entire gig. :p I really want to go to a gig in London or Sydney or something, to experience what a "proper" gig is like! All the gigs in London when I'm there are all sold out and/or have age restrictions, though. :indiff: And whenever I go to Sydney all the gigs I want to go to are 18+

@Tee I agree with you about the Singaporean gig-ers being very, very, very, very, very tame. But when it comes to them Musers, they're freakin' animals! And I owe it to the Fort Canning slope for making it worse. :p But the Indoor Satdium should be effing ace and Muse willsurely top Coldplay's show. I'm so confident of that.
Who knows what kind of a giant you might turn into when you start swimming hahaha. :D

Glad to hear about the non-rowdiness or boring-ness that is the Singaporean crowd haha. I actually thought they were .. you know, stuck to their stereotype and 'kiasu' about getting in front, hence rowdy? heh. I'm seriously considering getting standing tickets now teehee :D then maybe i'll sit WHEN they come to Malaysia!
Ohhhh you noticed the chucks! :awesome: hahaha sweet :D I'm really tempted to show that to Muse but I have no idea how? :( Maybe I should wear the same outfit for Muse hahaaa..
Wow that article about AAR said that Mona Lisa is about politics? I had no idea! haha I always thought it was just a sweet love song that magnifies Nick Wheeler's hotness when he's playing the acoustic live <3 seriously. That song made me fall inlove with Nick! haha.
I didnt really notice the halloweeny background music tbh! Thats why I need the help of your bootlegs haha :D Aww man I was hardly paying any attention to what Tyson was saying, though tbh i thought his vocals were a bit soft. His mic was too soft i think. sure I can help you get the pre-sale! You can pay me back when you come, probably?
NOo I didn't get any poster! It'd be sweet if you want to give it to me but I won't mind if Kak Faz gets it either! :p
LyaIshak (http://board.muse.mu/member.php?u=120423), the gig is on the 3rd of Feb at the Indoor Stadium. Tix details are not released yet so check back here!

Tee, hopefully the promo will wait for you, yeah. Be great to have a meetup in Feb with you, Nut and hopefully other Musers that get on here, like Lyalshak above, hehe. I'm loving the anticipation, can you tell?
Yeah, I can't wait to a have a meetup with a whole bunch of people either! Tickets are more expensive from here to Singapore because it's a further distance, but as soon as I get the gig tickets (when they go out! Hehe) I will book the plane tickets. :D I think we're all loving it. :p

Ooh Miele I spotted that RM100 return flight to Singapore too! My friends and I wanted to take that but we're only gonna get it (if its still available) after BNO ticket prices are announced. I'm gonna save up lots now for this! haha. no more shopping. and have to cut down my budget for christmas shopping too :(

Kak Faz, Muse at the Indoor Stadium better be better than Coldplay. :D
You know, I'm pretty worried about who the opening acts are. The event starts at 5pm and is estimated to end at midnight. If it's going to be a bunch of local bands playing, I'm going to hate this. If Muse comes on at 9 or 10, how are we supposed to enjoy their set if we have to be at the front from 5pm?
Waldo
08-11-2009, 12:06 AM
Nooo. Not local acts. I will actually kill myself if one of them is bloody Electrico. :indiff: The only good local band is Etc. :yesey:<3 Maybe we could get inside at 5PM, and then crowdsurf to the front, and from there, push ourselves forward? :chuckle: By which time it'll probably be 7PM or 8PM, which is perfect. :p
Franz are starting at midnight, so I'm going to go see Peter Hook first on another stage, then I'll go over to where Franz are playing at about 10PM and crowdsurf as near to the front as I can get, and from there I have to hope that I'm small enough to squeeze through the cracks of other people. :p
Nutcracker
08-11-2009, 03:30 AM
I feel the same way about most local acts. If i wanted to see them, I'd rather just pay $10 at some random location (and that's being generous). I'm going to be there for MUSE not Electrico or some lame band! Man, LAMC picked the wrong gig to have a few extra bands performing prior to MUSE.
Lol have you ever crowdsurfed before Tee? I guess your size gives you some advantage.
Waldo
08-11-2009, 05:07 AM
No I haven't, but that's two perfect opportunities to do it! :awesome: It looks fun, and it'll bring me pretty near to the front, which is what I need haha...I'll be loitering around the venue for the whole day, but I'm not going to waste my time listening to crappy local bands. :noey: I'm sorry, but Singapore can only produce violinists and pianists. :p
I would rather pay $60 to never hear Electrico play again. I hate them with a fiery passion. They are actually pure rubbish.
Nutcracker
08-11-2009, 06:35 AM
Haha it sure does look like a whole lota fun. Just make sure you don't end up over the barricades though. :p
Electrico is such a SHAME!!!! They did a "Singaporean" song for our National Day and it was EFFING CRAP!! They prob did it cuz the money was good. But that don't give them a reason to make such atrocities they call music.
I hope the ticket price isn't ridiculous though. European shows are like S$90 to about $115 and it would be stupid if LAMC charged us anything more than $130.
Waldo
08-11-2009, 06:48 AM
Yeah, I'll be starting from the back so I doubt I will, but when I see it approaching I'll be sure to get down...somehow. :wtf::LOL:
I know. I don't even see why everybody thinks they're so brilliant. I can't wait for the day they go overseas and everybody tells them they're rubbish. :p
I bet it's going to be over $140...It'd probably be that price in Fort Canning, but it's in Indoor Stadium so it's bound to be more expensive. Gigs in Singapore are such a rip-off: Shit opening band nobody wants, not enough of the main band, rubbish venue, rubbish crowd, and overpriced tickets. In the end it's worth it but ughhh...
Nutcracker
08-11-2009, 07:37 AM
Yeah pricey gigs are not justified with the set-up and locations!
Muse's recent setlist at Belgium is pretty wicked! Encore with Overture, SS and then KOC!! Truly orgasmic. :awesome:
Waldo
08-11-2009, 10:09 AM
On an opposite note...are you going to see Buzzcocks? The tickets are $49 or $39, and it's at Zirca so the venue's not that great, but I reckon the price is well worth it! And plus, they have the one decent local band opening for them. :chuckle:
 I want that encore.

Trust Muse to bring on a spectacular show. I'm sure it'll be worth whatever you'll be spending.
I had doubts about getting the Coldplay tickets earlier this year because they were slightly out of budget (since I was also holding Sunburst tix at that time) and I honestly regret I didn't just go with my impulse reaction of purchasing the tix. Still regretting... but I've definitely learned my lesson.
ALSO THE KILLERS!! BRANDON FLOWERS. Arrrrrghhh I'M SO HAPPYYYYY. SERIOUSLYYY?! 2 days before Andrew Bird! I'm going I'm going I'm going!! I wouldn't want to miss out on this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIC3PyyoKA4).

http://board.muse.mu/showthread.php?p=6752508#post6752508
I'll write something more detailed tomorrow because I have to go soon, but a debrief:
- Arrived in Jakarta twenty minutes earlier than I was supposed to, was going to stay in the same hotel as them, but it was full, went to a mall to have lunch, then went to the hotel (insane traffic!) and stayed there for about ten minutes.
- Found free wifi in the hotel which I'm using now, saw Alex's tweets, went crazy, rushed off to the venue.
- Everything was so delayed! We were supposed to be let in at 4, were were let in at 5:45.
- Went search for Franz, couldn't find them, so I went to watch Peter Hook and met him as well, then I watched a bit of Novak 3D Disco's set, but went off to search for Franz again.
- Couldn't find Franz anywhere. :( Was absolutely gutted.
- SAW FRANZ. Endured the last ten minutes of a shitty local band, pushed my way to the front (a lot easier than I expected, I thought I'd have to crowdsurf and push my way through, but I could basically slip into the front row immediately) and then waited for what felt like ages while their crew were setting things up. My back felt horrible, and it still does, and I can't wait to see the osteopath next week...Franz came on, played the best gig I'd ever been to, but it was way too short. Lucid Dreams was epic, they played it as the demo version and album version combined: demo version, then the longggg extended ending. I was right in the center front facing Alex, and when he came into the crowd I grabbed his hand for two seconds, and afterwards, I got the setlist. Got a lot of pointing from Nick. :awesome: Ended up in all the photographers' pictures and videos (:/) and was on the screen for about twenty seconds, and apparently next month I'm in the local Elle showing all the people who went to see Franz.
- Miraculously found Franz's backstage area. Talked to Alex, he signed Sound Bites, asked me what my name was, and I got a picture. Then I got about four pictures with Nick, two pictures with Paul, and one with Bob, and autographs from them all on the book from the Tonight boxset. Had a brief chat with all of them, then they went off. :( Took a picture with Parker, came back to the hotel, and had a spaff. :D Proper posting with pictures when I fly back.
Post-concerts are always the worst.
OMG you met Alex! Thanx for your speedy update ;) Sounds like a handful and I hope you get lucky at their hotel (lol i don't mean in THAT manner) to bump into them in the lobby :D do you still plan to, since you've already had the liberty to talk to ALL of them and have multiple pictures taken? ;) so lucky!! Welcome, Grace! (One can only assume it's Grace? ) Glad you could join us Msian musers
I believe the tickets are only on sale on the 16th. Try checking again tmrw There's also a 10% discount if you purchase the tix between 16th - 30th Nov.
Yes, I'm Grace, thanks so much!
I was sadly too excited for the event itself, I forgot yesterday was Sunday, only today that is Monday. :p
I checked the sistic site, and apparently I need to have a credit card. Which, I DON'T HAVE. Can anyone help me? I'm sincerely wanting to go to this thing ever since I fell in love with Muse >_<
Or, does anyone know which debit card deal will approve before 30th of November then I can buy :p
YAY FOR MK ULTRA, I CAN DIE A HAPPY GIRL.

miele - well i don't know if i should go on about a full length story cuz you guys are gonna see them in a few months' and i don't wanna spoil em too much :p but tbh reviews are all over the forum/twitter anyways
but my personal opinion if anyone wants to read! - the intro was superduperuberly amazing!!! we managed to get 6th row in left side ie in front of matt, but crowd's crazyyyy, and in the end i got pushed back to somewhere about...15th row centre :( they're soooo much larger than i am :| i guess m'sian/sg crowd would be better la, at least everyone's kinda comparable! but i managed to get back front again after crossing 3 mosh pits of death lol
i think it was a pretty good mix of old songs + new songs, could have more old songs though, hence making it longer. ours lasted for around..1.5 hours or so. everyone went crazy when MK Ultra came out! it was like this intro bit and then people were like "omgomgomg dont tell me it's this! oh yeah i think it's this...this could be it!" cuz they didn't play MK Ultra in every gig - we were the 2nd to get it (after Birmingham!)
then the awesomeness continued until matt started talking. he was like "i'm gonna play something from our 1st album. anyone of you guys have our 1st album?" (everyone went crazy!) and he said "let's play Cave". all hell broke looose! yay to us for being the first to have both MK Ultra AND Cave so far! :D:D:D:D anyway Cave was great..piano jazzy version! managed to record a full vid of it (and MK Ultra too!) - with loads of jumping lol
imo the best that night were uprising, unnatural selection, mk ultra and SS! exo was beautiful :'(
ended of with KoC and I dropped one side of my contacts during the last 5 seconds and it broke (of course, everyone was jumping!) souvenir from the gig! :P
despite all the bad luck of breaking my lens, was pouring that day, got stepped on too many times etc (it was Friday the 13th lol), Muse turned it all around
now..bring on Wembley 2010!
and some of the clearest individual shots from Friday - i don't have a kickass camera with anti-shake function so i didn't manage to get good photos! also... i couldn't be bothered sometimes, just wanted to enjoy my 1st muse gig :P

Heya Liz! 3 days, from the 2nd - 4th february? Wanna join me there? Havent booked lodgings yet though.
.
C'mon guys, who else coming??? Faz, Liz, Aida apa cerita?
Ah, so that's Tues - Thurs, yeah? Would love to join you there hun, I believe it'll be an excellent night out for all us Musers!! Hot damn though, why does it have to be on week 6-7 of my semester, which is the worst possible time (apart from pre-finals week).
The same goes to my Killers dilemma, but that's on a Sunday at least, and the chances of my mid terms falling on a Monday is less likely than Muse's concert date. I have Andrew Bird on the 26th though and if I'm already there for the Killers on the 24th, why not just extend it two more days, yeah? But what if my paper falls on that Wednesday, night of Andrew Bird? Aarrghh.
I've already pre-booked my bus tickets (taking two drips down to sg, one in late Jan and another early Feb - doubt I could skip classes for 10 days) which will only materialise 6 weeks from departure date. Up til then, I can still change my mind. I should be worrying about more strenuous, serious matters that will be happening in December, but all day long, my mind is only swimming in this Singapore dilemma :(
hey which hotel did u book? like seriously ive nvr been to singapore & im not gonna miss another muse concert but really trying to keep d budget low. the tix are expensive enuff. please please share ur knowledge
The best bet for saving cash in singapore is to bunk over at a friend/relative's place. That would save you a LOT for acommodation. I've never attended any concerts at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, but I believe it's located pretty far off from the main town of sg (Orchard Road.. the Esplanade... etc) I remember staying at this Bugis St. place though, and it costs only about $35 per night, your own room but a communal toilet. I've never tried any of the Frangrance places, I believe Nut/Miele/Aida could talk a little more on that, but I've heard great stories that it's the most affordable accommodation you can get. Perhaps this time round, if my cousin refuses to take me in (lol actually I feel awful for always crashing at her place...) I'll head up there.
As for heading down to singapore and transportation itself, you'll have to see which is your preference. You basically have four options, depending on how much of a fussy traveller you are ;)
Option 1 - By train. You leave from KL Sentral at night (about 8pm I think?) and you reach Singapore the following morning at about 8am. It's a long 12 hour ride, which, I believe costs about RM70 for a return standard single seat tix (please double check this, there are also bunk beds available which will cost a little more) Usually the cheapest option if you don't mind the long long hours cramped up in a train. Ideal for non-claustrophobias with an eye for adventure (i've heard stories of people meeting their soul mates in train rides! :p )
Option 2 - By bus. You have two routes for this. Either a direct one to singapore, or another one to johor and from johor you take another special bus down to singapore (please consult Aida for this ;) )
I would personally recommend a direct bus ride to singapore any time, because I find I enjoy the long comfy bus rides listening to music but then again, everyone has their own preferences. Choosing which bus to take is another headache itself but I wouldn't recommend Transnasional buses. No doubt they're relatively cheaper (Last I checked, I think it's about RM85+ for a return tix?), I believe if it's only gonna take another RM20 to upgrade to a more comfortable ride, it's a lot more worth it. Plus, transnasional drivers are sometimes a little scary - but I believe this is really your luck. Aeroline is super comfy and they serve you subway sandwich, which I love, if you take the morning buses. The price is a little steep however, with RM90 per journey (includes 1 meal) which totals up to RM180 for a return ride. It's usually fuss free though and there's a comfortable lounge/lobby of sorts in the lower deck which you could use should you choose not to sit for 5 straight hours on a normal seat. My personal fav bus is First Coach which is RM115 for a proper return ticket. First Coach offers a smooth ride, and has a personal tv in front of you (very much like aeroplanes) where you can enjoy multiple movies if you bring your own ear phones.
Option 3 - By air. This one takes a little more commitment. Coz you'll have to book months/weeks in advance. It's crazy how the prices to fly to singapore has dropped tremendously though. At one point, it only cost RM25 to fly to singapore (tax included!). If you book your tickets now, I believe it's RM95 for a return tix (tax included). It is absolutely worth it and you'll reach singapore in less than an hour's time! You could even travel in the morning of the concert day itself and save one day's worth of accommodation. There are downsides of it too, of course. You'll have to take into consideration the amount of time you'll have to check in early for the flight and make sure you have someone driving you to KLIA/LCCT. At Changi, it's super convenient as the MRT is right at it's doorstep so you don't really have to worry about getting around upon arrival. Basically, you don't have to worry about transportation in singapore because their public transport there is just bloody efficient ;)
Option 4 - By car. Gather round 3 of your closest friends, dump all your luggage in the car boot and you're off and ready for an exciting and memorable roadtrip down south ;)
Hope that helps. If it doesn't, just remember that Google is a very powerful tool.:D
I checked the sistic site, and apparently I need to have a credit card. Which, I DON'T HAVE. Can anyone help me? I'm sincerely wanting to go to this thing ever since I fell in love with Muse >_<
You can ask your parents/sister/brother/cousin or any of your friends with a credit card to get the tickes for you. Since this is done through SISTIC, a singaporean agency, all tickets must be picked up before heading to the concert (I think?). There are a few SISTIC outlets located strategically around KL (one, I believe, is in KL sentral), as long as you have a permission letter of sorts from the original card holder, you can then pick up your tickets there ;]
Liz, i need company for The Killers. may i join you?
For sure! We've got to catch up with all these merry-go-round rumours surrounding F1 anyway :] Which tickets do you plan to get btw? I would honestly love to stand and cheer at the concert, with a GOOD view of Mr Brandon Flowers. However, my sister is very very broke and she's only planning to get the $88 ones - or not attend the gig at all. Sigh. We haven't come up with a decision yet. There are 5 days or so left til the tickets are open though, so I'll let you know by Sunday if I'm really confirmed yeah?
I don't want to ever see any other non Franz gig again. Oh god, what's come over me? D:

Aww, you look so genuinely happy in the pictures with Franz. I can honestly say I know how giddy and all you feel. Or your state of disbelief that it has actually happened! Yes, it's Liz. What's yours? :)
Ah, yes it would be a lot more convenient for you if you took Aeroline then. How long do you plan to stay in sg? I suggest you travel on the 3rd itself to save on accommodation. An 8am bus leaving KL would reach sg by 2pm I think, which would give you just enough time to check in and start queueing up! (though I've heard rumours that in the previous SG Muse gig, people were already queueing up at 6am). Then again, this is a "festival" of sorts... I guess the gates would open slightly earlier.
For Muse, I honestly think any amount you spend relating to them would be worth it  If you're a little reluctant to get the Pen A tix though, I suppose the numbered seated seats will not be too bad of an idea too, considering how you *might* be arriving late (should you only leave KL on the 3rd). That way, you don't have to show up early but still get a promised good view of Muse. You're bound to stand up anyway once Muse kicks in, perhaps just an entirely different experience if you're not in the Pen A category. You could save the moshing pit experience for Malaysia perhaps, IF they choose to stage a gig here in KL as well. Sigh. I honestly hope they will!
Aww, I think you just caught me in the right mood . I tend to babble on about Singapore if anyone asks... Recenly a classmate of mine asked if I was a tour guide there or something

Hello!
A quickie one…I don’t know whether I can take at least 2 days leave for Muse…like Liz, I do hope they’ll come to Malaysia. So I haven’t decided am going to Muse or not. It’s odd isn’t it, having a festival (BNO) on a Wednesday.
But for Killers, I may be able to go cause it’s on a Sunday, just need a 1 day leave. I may just buy the cheapest tix (SGD88) though..
I haven’t decided how to go.. another option though is fireflyz via Subang …costs RM165 return.
Taking a bus to JB, then change bus to SG is a very tiring process indeed! The queue is verryyy long! The Aeroline is a good option for you Lya!
Accomodation – Fragrance hostel it’ll be!
Lol Liz! I was about to say you are you a travel writer or something? Maybe you should ;-)

Hey Noor! Good to see you again! :D
Will your mom allow you to watch them? Muse will be playing a full set, so it's pretty worth it :).
:D AWESOME! I told her about it, she's fine with it! I think I have demonstrated my crrrazzze for the band enough to convince her that I really love Muse!
Why do they have to come in February, in the middle of the week..why not in December or when there's a holiday..that would make it easier for students and those working. Yes no.

If you're planning on doing it at Singapore, I assure you my way of getting backstage will not work for you. :p If you're planning on doing it in Malaysia, it'll only work if there are security who will stop you if you ask them if you can do something that you shouldn't, but when you go ahead with it, they really don't care. On the map of the venue it showed their backstage area. :stunned: So before the gig I went around there for three hours, but thought all the backstage tents were recovery tents and that the F&B area was their area. :$ I was really disappointed when I couldn't find them after searching and Alex kept Tweeting and I could see it on my phone, but then after the gig I wandered around and miraculously wandered into their tent. I found it on my own accounts, but I'm pretty sure I could have asked somebody and they wouldn't have stopped me. The security didn't even notice me  and Franz didn't care. Which was good. And I squeezed to the front by getting there two hours before their set was about to start, so it was at the end of a terrible Indo band's set when I got to the stage, and there was hardly anybody there! The people that were there weren't in a tight formation either, so I just kind of slipped my way through and when I got to the second row I tapped the person in front of me on the shoulder and asked if they could scoot over a bit haha. But was I was planning to do because I thought that there would be a ridiculous amount of people was that I would crowdsurf to about fifth row, from there I would push myself forward, and tap somebody in front row on the shoulder....:p

hey liz! i'm lya :)
ARGH i'm so angry at the singapore exchange rate now. whyyy so expensiiiive whyyyyyyyyy T_TI really want to go, I really do, and i'm quite willing to fork out RM300 for the $128 or $98 tickets but my friend isnt willing to do so!! There's no way I can go to singapore alone sigh :( I dunno what to do la. I really honestly doubt they'll come to malaysia (same for The killers too :'() and I really dont want to miss this chance to see them live again! seating, standing, i dont care, i want to go!
hey there debbie! i know right? i'm like praying day in & day out for the exchange rate to go back to 2.0 like back in those days  i wish... but yeah i kinda just realized last night ive been fretting so much abt the pen A ticket which obviously is outta my budget. so y not get the cheaper ones & still get to see muse right? i mean, even if i do get to the front-est of the stage, it's not like i get to proprose to matt :p
ohh i was actually gonna ask u if u'd feel awkward going w me? coz i really wanna go too & i duwanna go alone either. i suppose if i start planning w someone then i cn bring down d budget a bit. esp budget for the hotel room. plus now air asia is having this promo thing where return tix to spore is only rm95 if u book b4 d end of the month. so yeah.. jz trying my luck here :p

It’s odd isn’t it, having a festival (BNO) on a Wednesday.
But for Killers, I may be able to go cause it’s on a Sunday, just need a 1 day leave. I may just buy the cheapest tix (SGD88) though..
Yes, it's really quite inconvenient on a Wed. What to do though, rockstars don't have a 9am-6pm job the next day... Unless Muse has a press conference or something haha.
Aww, that's great :) You're headed for The Killers!
I just bought the tix for Wembley '10! Thing is...I'm not sure if I'm going, it really depends on what happens next Summer. But I decided to buy it anyway cuz I guess I could always sell it off! Well let me know if you are going!
Well, I didn't get the tickets. I suppose even if I do, it'd be too much of a hassle to travel south to London for the gig. As fun as that might be, I'm pretty sure I'll be botched up with classes (I think I'll have summer semester, not too sure j yet) Do you go together with a few other friends who enjoy Muse too? :)
If you're planning on doing it at Singapore, I assure you my way of getting backstage will not work for you. If you're planning on doing it in Malaysia, it'll only work if there are security who will stop you if you ask them if you can do something that you shouldn't, but when you go ahead with it, they really don't care. On the map of the venue it showed their backstage area. So before the gig I went around there for three hours, but thought all the backstage tents were recovery tents and that the F&B area was their area. I was really disappointed when I couldn't find them after searching and Alex kept Tweeting and I could see it on my phone, but then after the gig I wandered around and miraculously wandered into their tent. Another one of Twitter perks, eh? ;) On the contrary, I thought the security in Singapore (at least, for the Ash one) was a lot more lenient as compared to Malaysia. I always feel bad squeezing through to the front row... probably because I hate the people who actually tap me in the shoulder to ask me to scoot (well, if they're alone I suppose that's tolerable but if they're bringing like 10 other people to the front, I get really annoyed.) :p
ohh i was actually gonna ask u if u'd feel awkward going w me? coz i really wanna go too & i duwanna go alone either. i suppose if i start planning w someone then i cn bring down d budget a bit. esp budget for the hotel room. plus now air asia is having this promo thing where return tix to spore is only rm95 if u book b4 d end of the month. so yeah.. jz trying my luck here :p

To be honest, I only went on Twitter when I couldn't find them and was hoping it would somehow lead the way to their area. But it just aggravated me even more. Singapore security is okay, they can be rather annoying at times though...Jakarta security are my new favourite. :awesome:
I would line up as soon as it starts, but I wanted to see Peter Hook and not crappy local bands, and I also wanted to wander around and search for the band, so... The people I were standing next to were really nice though! Or maybe they were just amused at a crazy young fangirl who flew in just to see them. :$

Gotta try out this Jakarta security some day. Just being an opportunist, I say :awesome:
 Don't worry I'm sure they didn't mind as much to have you around to sing out loud with them in the front row :)\

Do it! The security here are even better, but there isn't any Franz here. :(
They didn't seem to mind, in fact, they were very friendly! But when Franz went off for the encore break I started screaming and they were all extremely amused. :$

I've bought me tickets so I'm definitely going too!
I dono much about the Fragrance Hotel TBH cuz i've never stayed in one..
Actually Liz, the Indoor Stadium is just the other side of the Singapore river. Pretty much near the Esplanade so technically it's not far from town.
@Mad Hope you got no plans and get to go to Wembley! Thanks for the pics at your first gig btw :D
paraluman

A friendly warning: Don't stay at the Fragrance Hotels near the stadium! I read some reviews; apparently that's where prostitutes usually have their rendezvous with their clients. One reviewer complained of girls knocking at his door every now and then. :stunned:
Try this hotel: http://www.hangouthotels.com If you're really on a budget, they offer dorm rooms, too, for around S$35 a night, if I remember correctly.

@Lya I've yet to finalize my decision :( I hope lamc would finalize the lineup for BNO soon (with more international acts! Jimmy Eat World maybe?) so I could at least convince my parents to actually give me the green light to skip possible mid terms and travel down to Singapore twice in 10 days after The Killers and Andrew Bird. Then again, they've generally never approve of any of my Singapore trips. Arrgh.
@Nut lol oh! I couldn't find the stadium in the map that I have, so I assumed it wasn't around that city hall area. It's not within walking distance with Esplanade though, right?
@paraluman OMG. I should check tripadvisor myself first before recommending :X Perhaps those Fragrance branches are located near the red district area? Generally I think Singapore's still a pretty safe place though, yeah? Hangout (Rucksack Inn too) seems like a really convenient stay if the gig's at Fort Canning Park. :) Well if all else fails, there's always couchsurfing (http://www.couchsurfing.org/)! :D
@Tee I dunno if you've watched the Ash vid to Joy Kicks Darkness (you're in a Franz high after all ;) ) but I simply adore that ♥ shirt of Tim's. He looks so damn good in it :awesome: :p

Wow missed too many topics so I'll just address what I remember (do forgive this nyanyuk old lady):
1. Madraulix review: aaw thanks, just pulling your leg la, untung2 dapat your unique perspective. Thanks, you've added to my anticpation of the SG show :)
2. Train travel to SG: this is an awesome plan if you have a lot of time and are really on a budget. Take the night train, the bunk beds are quite comfy and snooze your way up to the border passport check. I love taking trains as only need to be at KL Sentral 20 mins earlier compared to the hassles of airline travel. Also, train rides are always interesting, more time to mingle and stuff.
3. SG Hostel: In the spirit of trying out new stuff this place is my choice for February http://www.betelbox.com/about_betelbox.htm
Never stayed there before, but was totally impressed by its location (near the airport and the stadium, also halal food), the rates and the classic architecture. Apparently the place has won awards also.
Not sure which Fragrance Hostel has ladies of the night, haha, but the one I stayed at with Aida was comfortable and was not dodgy at all, quite near a mosque in fact.
4. People contemplating / planning for SG travel :C'mon guys, do not lose hope. Relax, the show's still some time away. Di mana ada kemahuan, di situ ada jalan :D. Lyalshak, feel free to PM about anything, but the experts would actually be Nut / Liz / Aida kot.
5. LAMC: Thanks for bringing Muse again but what is taking so long the other acts to be announced?
6. Deb's headcount of confirmed attendees : Nut, moi, Aida +/ Faz pencilled in eh? No rush, saja ja nyibuk

You can add Rise Against to that BNO line-up :)
Saosin is pretty heavy, and I think they're classified as post-hardcore (I'm clueless actually) Don't know any song apart from You're Not Alone.
Rise Against; I haven't the faintest idea about their music. They sound alternative, judging from a couple of youtube videos I've seen..
But yeah, MUSE!!!!:D:D:D:D
I've "invented" this equation for 20090203/1900; Muse > [Saosin(Rise Against)]10

I've decided not to quit my part-time job (despite how much I want to quit just so I can spend ample time with my friends who are back from Australia, who has tickets to BDO btw  lucky or not? Kasabian and Muse all in one gig) just so I can have enough money for this trip lol! YES PEOPLE COUNT ME IN!!!!!!!!!!! well, me and my friend. so COUNT ME +1 INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!
Rise Against and Saosin are apparently very "GROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAR" kinda music. ie, heavy. Which is something I dont really enjoy tbh. So i have a feeling I'm gonna be getting the seated tickets instead. The last place I want to be in a heavy rock concert is in the mosh pit. I value my life!

Tee, just wondering if you already knew that Nick McCarthy guest rapped (in German!) on SFA's Inaugural Trams. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKO_v-ZhxgI&feature=related) live vid is so funny!

Also, Saosin had five songs with "groar"ish music. I haven't heard their last album but I heard it's horrid pop, and the music before that was pretty okay, but I just want to see them again because my first gig was one of theirs. :chuckle: I don't really like Rise Against though. :erm: BNO doesn't sound too great...Saosin and Rise Against? I can understand those two together, definitely wouldn't pay as much money for them or fly out for them but meh...but with Muse? I'm not that fond of that type of music.
EDIT: Bluhhh. Weresodisco, I've forgotten your name sorry (:$) but now you've gotten me reobsessed with that song. So catchy!

24-11-2009, 02:05 PM
^ My sentiments exactly. Rise Against & Saosin together seemed fine. When Saosin opened for Incubus, I raised my eyebrows a little, but it appears that there were actually fans who went there ONLY for Saosin and not Incubus! It's pretty amusing. I suppose LAMC pulled in acts of varying genres to really get more fans going for BNO. At the same time introducing more fans, I guess? I suppose a new Muse Saosin fan is better than a new Muse Twilight fan..if you catch my gist
There was this one acoustic Saosin song that I liked. A looong time ago though haha I don't even remember what it's called anymore.
I'm sure it'll be a fun night though, but for those standing in the pen/mosh pit, do take care! I love that a lot of Malaysians will be heading to Singapore for this. Perhaps an article about how Msian music fans have to fork out and contribute money to SG's tourism thus making their economic well-off could catch the local promoters here once and for all... OK I just got a muse for an article but I hate that I don't have time to write it! (Actually, I think an article like that probably has already been written :-/ )
That being said, I think I've decided (well, ok my decision might change during Christmas...) I would not be able to go for BNO. I'm already going for The Killers and Andrew Bird a week before Feb 3rd (getting in trouble for that as well), Muse would certainly make things worse for my deteriorating state and constant lack of time SIGH.
P/S: I wouldn't say the Killers tix that we got are the cheapest, it's the most affordable one lol. The $168/148 ones are almost sold out though! :o

24-11-2009, 02:08 PM
I completely agree with Muse+Saosin fan > Muse+Twilight fan. :chuckle: But yeah, LAMC are crap at putting bands together.

UD VIDEO. CHANNEL V. YESTERDAY.
OHMYGAAAWD!
I was telling Nut, I didn't even know they video was completed! I was flipping channels and suddenly I heard the song and I saw Matt and then I started singing along, with much feeling, lol! How wonderful! And so fast! But like we discussed some time ago, don't want the GORGEOUS song which I love love so much to be 'spoiled' when it gets played on radio. Y'know what I mean? :stunned:
So I've been thinking, I seriously need to go see Muse. NEED to :(. The only problem is after the concert. I cannot stay with a relative, 'coz it wouldn't be nice to inconvenience them at, what, 1 am? Yeh. The two options I have are
1) Go back straight to JB after the concert, and then trouble my mum to pick me up from JB checkpoint (which she seems, SEEMS, fine with. From experience, I reckon on the day she'd be like :indiff:, then I'll be :ninja:, or I'd be looking like a major retard 'coz I'd have just experienced Muse LIVE!)
2) Stay in a hotel with one of you! (Which my mum is OK with too.)
So IF supposing, katakan, kalau, I choose option 2, Auntie Miele, would it be super alright if I stayed with you? :D But that is IF lah. I think Option 1 is better though, yes no everyone? tyvm.

Noor with option 1, you'd have to take a cab to get you to the JB immigration and that would be like S$30 IF I'm not mistaken. And the cab station is not so much of a walking distance from the Indoor Stadium. You'd have to take a cab from the Indoor Stadium most prob.
Kay-a I'm curious to see how they'll portray the music in visuals. So any single is ifine with me! WOW you bought a Pearl snare! Not just any Pearl snare I'm sure.;)
Woah Liz hope you don't miss out on watching Muse live. It's MYOOOZZEEE!!:D

Noor, I don't think it'd be wise to take Option 1 because you'll keep your mom up waiting and she'll be worried should the gig go on for any longer than 1am, which is pretty likely seeing that rockstars are hardly punctual... If you're travelling alone, it's not too safe as well. If I did go to Singapore again for Muse (which I might, hvn't cut it off completely from my mind yet...) I don't think I would mind staying up with you at some 24 hour cafe/comfy place all through morning coz really, I'm used to that anyway lol. It'll be safer for you then to travel once it's about 6-7am perhaps because let's face it, I doubt after a Muse concert neither of us would be able to SLEEP! Haha, we'd be smiling to ourselves constantly all night long  If they did play MK Ultra (I hope they do!!), I lagi cannot sleep. It'd probably be ringing in my ears for ages!
Undisclosed Desires... it's such a good make out song lah, seriously  I wasn't really aware of the video too until last week when I stumbled upon the link on youtube. Those wires dangling and twirling around look dangerous haha. RAH!!! Literally. Lol. Aww, it's a keytarrr! Thanks for the link Nut that was beautifulllll. If you decide on Option 2, no problem la, can hang together2. Like Liz said, can stay up an bask in the afterglow of Muse's awesomeness. Or if you want to stay at the betelbox hostel where were staying also can. I understand the value of your mom's peace of mind :)

that movie's horrible, btw
hey what is this abt staying up all night & basking in the aftereffects of a muse gig? sounds fun! (& i might be able to save $23 by not checking in at all :P)

Thanks nut! :D and yeah, my friend and I booked our BNO tickets already. We got the balcony seats unfortunately, cause its the only one we can afford haha. OH WELL. I'd rather see Muse from afar than mingle with the Saosin/Rise Against fans in the mosh pitt. My life is as stake
But now.. I have quite a dillemma. My sem only starts at the end of Feb, so I can actually stay in Singapore a while longer and be a tourist! since i have never been to singapore before hehe :D But omg, the accommodation prices is seriously suuuuch a bitch to my wallet/bank account. So I need help guys! Any cheap hostels/hotels? :D my friend said he found a hotel thats about RM100 per night per person for 4 people, and another hostel thats pretty cheap, but its bunk beds and a shared toilet. Is that pretty alright? I'm worried the toilets will be as filthy as hell, but then again Singapore is a pretty clean place right? But then again I've never been to Singapore before so what do i know? Opinions, guys? :)
and about the RAH Undisclosed Desires vid, wooow Chrisssss! He sounds soooo good during that last chorus. Its like as if he's singing lead and Matt is singing back up! Awesome  :D

I'm sure the seated tickets are going to be just as good. Hopefully they'll have the same set up as their current European tour and you can spazz at the lights show and screened pillars.:yesey:
I can't vouch for Singapore's cleanliness in the B&B area. Never really got the chance to try it :p. I doubt these places will leave their toilets to be filthy as hell though. Maybe you can tell me the places you want to consider and I'll check it out for you if it's not out of the way lol. :)
Liz, again, hope you will seriously consider going. It's MUSE. lol.
Tee I'm guessing you'll be getting the mosh pit tix?:D

Not being in the mosh pit isn't the last thing in the world... Sometimes it could be a good thing too. I totally agree that being all the way up front wouldn't be the best spot for acoustics. You'll only hear the raw sound coming out from the amps in front of you which has not gone through the process of blending together with the drums/bass etc. Having said all that though ... I think I would still rather pick mosh pit over anything  It's just that feeling of realizing everyone cheering for Muse isn't all that different from you after all, despite coming from varying demographic backgrounds. Oh sorry I'm just confusing things...
Oh Nut, been meaning to ask you this... you were seated at the terrace for Coldplay right? Did anyone walk up front to the barriers to stand or everyone just sat down quietly according to their tix?
Nutcracker
28-11-2009, 05:03 PM
Liz good job compiling the list :D For Coldplay we terrace people didn't stand at the barrier. We stood at where we were supposed to sit like obedient schoolboys unfortunately . There were people standing at the barrier however, and these people got screwed by either Sistic or Indoor Stadium.. I'm not sure. Because they bought tickets to 2 rows that didn't exist on that day. Weird right. So they stood at the barrier. Don't know if others from the seats joined them though... I had the urge to stand at the barrier but the whole office were with me so I decided against it.:(
So it seems we have a common understanding of the pros and cons of the ticket you might buy / already bought.
Don't know if you guys know about Adam Lambert covering (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVVG5Rg2y2A) one of Muse's unreleased B-sides entitled 'Soaked'. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vknKjvcwfSg) Beautiful B-side track. Hate to say this but Adam Lambert did a pretty good job covering it.:eyebrows:

28-11-2009, 06:07 PM
As many times as I've seen the cover of Adam Lambert's For Your Entertainment, it still makes me  I just keep thinking about the Iggy Pop/David Bowie/Velvet Goldmine days ;) Trying to put that aside though, as much as I think Adam did not do a horrible job covering Muse, I just can't take that guy seriously, unfortunately. He's talented, fo sho, but all this excessive publicity surrounding the recent AMAs, I think is unnecessary for him. It's kinda over shadowing his real talent, which is aplenty but now... I don't know, it's just funny for me because I find the whole shenanigan ridiculous.
2 rows that didn't exist... Hmmm, well, I guess sistic would do anything to cater for the demand! During the Oasis show, a lot of people stood near the barriers and my sister who was seated nicely in the first row got really pissed lol scolded them and in the end they sat on the floor  I hope I can stand near the barriers during the Killers (which is half sold out already btw).. coz I'm just not used standing in one position... I guess we'll see how things turn out in the end!

haha my only consolation for getting BALCONY seats is that... I .. can... see... EVERYTHING!!!! Like as if I have a bird's eye view or everything haha. If I had to choose though, without having money to worry about, I'd pick the moshy moshy tickets. No doubt about that. Then I'll tag along with you guys so that I can hopefully get to the front with you guys since you all are so 'talented' like that haha! Seriously man, its like a skill you need to be able to get to the front. A skill I dont have, because no matter how many gigs i've been to, I've never been to the front before. Not once. :'( But really though, the reason why people love to stand is becuase of the whole experience of just letting loose, shouting, screaming and singing with the band you love with people who love the band as much as you do that makes the moshpitt so worthwhile. at least, thats what its like for me anyway. the pushing and sweating is just a huge downer.
but never mind! I get to see the big giant balloons (do they still use that? haha) and I get to watch Matt Chris and Dom prance around from afar and I can see the crowd shifting and moving as everyone forms a giant mosh pitt (remember the KL gig? KOC? that was insane!!) and I can see all the lights and actually listen to the band. ^_^
One question though, do people actually stand in their seats? Especially on the balcony.. would it be dangerous if I were to stand? haha. Because I definitely still want to jump and shout and woohoo at Muse :) and I know during Jason Mraz, NOBODY stood up at my seated area. I wanted to stand up, and I stood up for awhile but noone else stood up (not even my friends) so I felt awkward and went back to sit :( tak syok la. Grooaaar.

Who sits in a Muse gig?!?!?!?! If this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvYozyTBxeY) was played, I don't think I'd care what anyone else thinks if I stood up haha. Gotta rock out to that opening riff! I don't think you'll have to worry about people sitting or standing really. Just... see how things work out, I suppose. You could try walking up to the barriers at the balcony and stand there, if the people in the first row don't mind.
KOC was really insane. Went in fully prepared though, after that experience for Megalomaniac during Incubus' opening number. The trick is to go in with a group of friends and stand near couples cuddled closely together (if you don't mind their PDA). Even with proper preparations however, sometimes a circle pit can just happen out of the blue - evident during New Found Glory's Singfest gig. Brrr... I still get shivers thinking about it now. If you're in the mosh pit though, really, what's the fun if you don't join the crowd to jump and push a little? ;)
Anyway, I think the Killers and Andrew Bird will be the first time I would be seated (if you don't count that KL Linkin Park concert so many years ago), should be great fun observing everything and getting good acoustics :yesey:

I was going to say that ooh, when you're far back at Andrew Bird's concert the acoustics would be dead amazing but then I realised that oh, Esplanade Concert Hall is entirely seating.:LOL: When I went to see Stars almost everybody just stood up in the seats anyways (which was good because I would have felt awkward being the only one) and I saw some pictures from DCFC where everybody stood up too...so you'd probably have to stand at Andrew Bird depending where you're at if you want a clear view.
Hmm, James Yorkston will be playing a gig in London when I'm there, and I think I get back to Singapore in time to see Cat Power. Oh, and +/- are playing when I'm there. But they'll be at Home Club, damn strict security in Singapore! :(

I wasnt prepared for that KOC nightmare at all tbh. :( I don't know if my mid terms will be then. I know it's Muse and I would buy the tix in a heartbeat but and I'm already skipping 3 days the week before, in hopes that any one of my papers won't fall on those dates. My current procrastination run doesn't spell well for my exams coming up soon too - it's like I'm not even trying. I don't know why lah. How's your sister doing btw? She's taking ACCA too yeah?
Perhaps HK would be a slightly better choice? It's on a weekend and the standing tix, despite being HK$580 after converting, will only come up to about RM255 max. Now, how much does an air ticket there cost... Edit: RM700 for return tickets, apparently. Not feasible.
@Nawkaz I don't know if there's any other way to get the tix apart from Sistic. Is there an authorized agent there in Sarawak? You could try your luck in forums... sometimes people would sell their tix there because they can't make it. Hope it all goes well for you!

Grooaaar.
Ohh, it's going to be awesome for you! Maybe for my 2nd Muse gig (:p) I'll get balcony seats, then I'll be able to immerse myself in the music! But for now, I need to experience being in a mosh pit, like what I see in concert videos!
About the Jazon Mraz gig, that sucks. I've had such experiences... I wish people were more sporting!

i've asked my dad for permission to go to this gig and maybe errrr.... sponsor it too
and he said YES!!!! :D
but he also asked me to bring along my 14 year old sister, which is fine by me.
BUT i'll have to really really confirm it later after i meet my dad again this weekend.
and it's only official after my tickets are confirmed.
but i need to know something, those who has had the balcony tickets, may i know your exact section and seat number? maybe i can choose the seats nearest to you so that we can enjoy the gig together!

Aww, you forgot taking exams. HURR.
I was a FOOL to think I could manage 3 papers this time round. Back to back papers, at that. I've been up for so many hours I don't see the difference between daylight and night time any longer. I don't remember what it's like to sleep for more than 4 hours anymore. If I combine the fees (alone) for these three papers, I think I would be able to pre-order at least four of Muse's biggest Resistance package if I didn't spend so much on non-reality. Bleh. OK wait, so education is no longer reality but music and going for concerts would be reality?
I really should get my priorities right. :-/

I didn't really jump for joy, but it was a nice surprise! I must say for a venue like the Indoor Stadium, the tickets are not expensive. Maybe cuz they're a "kids" band HAHAH.

I go to banter because there has the most "chat" going on in there:p That thread is actually about sexing. :chuckle: and yeah, I do agree the title is quite vulger but then that's what the person who started the thread wanted to put. Nothing much we could do about it but quite a number of suggestion to change the name....
:LOL:I thought you like Hayley A LOT. Hehe.... Maybe because they are not too sure of the response so they just put them in a smaller venue... Like Muse in Stadium Negara  which sold out 2 or 3 weeks before the concert :D
What is read 1984? :stunned:
uh.... PDT has gone from peeving to just total....
sexing imagination
I don't think I want to look at Dom that way if I ever met him in real life.... Ekk.... I doubt I'll go in that much anymore and what's even worse is that those girls are actually (should be) quite matured, not young teenagers.... =/

The greatest thing about Hayley is probably her looks! Come on, you have to admit she's hot! That red hair helps too!
1984 is a novel that the song Resistance is based on. Go read it if you're really bored! It IS partly like a romance book, if that's any consolation heehee.
Abt the PDT, I think it's just way overboard.

Paramore in Singapore, a month after Muse. I'm heartbroken because I know I wont be able to goo!!! :'( You know whats weird? I actually want to see Paramore not for them, but for Hayley Williams. I really like her! Not only is she erm, ahem, hot, but omg her voice is fantastic. I want to hear it liiiive ughhh. Seriously, I want to sing like her so much! She is my karaoke inspiration . No joke, my online friends, no joke.
And yeah I'm busy working and holiday-ing at the same time. Its very tiring, because on my days off thats when i go out. aghh the fatigue is catching up I say!

I didnt know The Resistance was based on 1984.. I read in a book thread on the board a few days (maybe weeks, I seem to have lost track of time lately with the monotony in my life) ago and a lot of people said that 1984 was fantastic. However, I recently found out that I totally suck at reading classics. I bought 3 Austen books, tried reading Emma, read until like Chapter 4 and switched to reading Dead Until Dark (the book the TV Show TruBlood is based on) instead
Epic fail la. But I shall try again once I'm done with Dead Until Dark!

Hayley's hair is almost like Paramore's trademark. I think people always notice her hair first before her look =D I think she started to look damn bloody hot is after the video of "that's what you get"
Ohhh.... So Muse got inspiration from that book then. All along I thought Resistance has something to do with the politics in England. :$:p
