are there any concert promoters in Msia?

if there are, they'd soon find the business not a very lucrative one.

DUUUUUUUUUUDE(S) !!!!! MY DAD SAID YESS!!! AHHAHAHAHAHAH HOLY SHIT I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY NOW!!! (sorry for the swear word. but damn it i'm too excited to care!)

i asked my dad and after talking to him for a while.. i was like "so can ar?" and he said ".. its YOUR money... but if i were you, i wouldnt wanna spend 200 on noise like this. i dont understand hoowwww you can enjoy this la *laughs to himself*" so i guess thats a yes. woohoooooo. but now that he mentioned, it is my money. if i do go, and stay at some hostel or something.. i'll be spending about 500 bucks. which is A LOT of money.. think of all the things i could buy with 500 on the YearEndSale that has already started!! ahh!

oh and i was wondering.. do Singaporeans mosh and crowd-surf and all that?

i had my 2nd Muse dream..
i was in a hall at an award show or sumthin and Muse was there..i think they won sumthin but i dont remember what it was
anyways, i took a picture of my friends..
oh then i went over to the table where Chris and Dom were..and i took out this piece of paper with their picture on it, and asked for an autograph
then Chris said i had to write somethin on his finger..and they asked me to write a poem. i cant remember what it said though
then they signed the paper..and i asked them where Matt was and they said he left or sumthin..then i cant remember how but theres this picture of a playground at Kedah (it was written on the pic) at the end of the slide there were like 3 orang-utans  and suddenly Dom and i were in the picture and i was patting the orang-utan..
then we walked to the middle of the playground and there was a container, attached to a stick, filled with powder(or flour) and Dom took abit of it and i asked him "do you know what it is? then he said sumthin i cant remember and then we laughed i told him it was powder lol
then we were back in the hall and i asked Dom, "Muse are gonna perform at Singapore right?" and he said yes and i told him i wanted to go but i couldnt and told him why and he said the guards can take care of me(?) then this person came and told him "Sir, your limousine has arrived. We're waiting" then he told me that he would take care of me and pick me up after the concert and send me home lol..if only..
then his "manager" came and she was a..a like a 10 yr old girl and i asked her for her email address so i could add her on my msn and she would help me get to the show..
and i think it ended there..
and once again i woke up depressed..

Nice one, Deb.

Well ultimately it's entirely up to you. I guess the biggest obstacle isn't your parents, but yourself, in the end. YearEndSale vs MUSE. You decide. =) Neither would be a bad choice, don't worry. The most important thing is to figure out what you feel is most worth that RM500 of yours. ^_~

muse_music, do u live in JB? if u r, lucky u..and to Deb, as a shopholic myself, what's year end sale compared to muse live for (maybe) once in ur life time..? ur lucky that ur parents said yes.. and u r like what? 12? 14? mine were very angry when i told them of my intention of going last sunday.. u'd think that when u r old that u can do whatever u want eh? by right i could just go and not be bothered by what my parents think.. but it's just not right. vspirit did u manage to read the article that i mentioned 2 u in the star..? it was not written in a very hopeful and positive manner which kinda make feel really frustrated. ur text made me feel like u dont want this auntie to tag along with u to s'pore.. heheh. welll, no worries..

vspirit
04-12-2006, 11:54 AM
no, no, no!!!!!! OMG, crazy_mary, you've gotten it completely wrong!!! it's the OTHER way round, actually. you seemed so completely unsure, so much at a loss of whether to make this trip or not, that i thought it'd be easier for u if they just announce early to play here. that way, you wouldn't have to be at a loss anymore, i thought. but note, this was BEFORE i read the article.

i have since read it tho. it really wasn't too positive, was it? and to top it off, it actually encourages malaysians to just go ahead for the singapore gig instead of pinning all our hopes on this uncertainty. a bird in hand is better than two in the bush and all that. which actually is good advice, if you ask me. one i'd suggest you wholeheartedly follow by buying the ticket and hooking up with us to go south together.

I sincerely doubt, however, that as long as MUSE can help it themselves, they'd come. Their track record doesn't make it seem as though they're the haughty, picky types when it comes to where they hold their concerts so long as they get to play. even now, i believe that even if they somehow impossibly end up getting a low bill ranking at a festival, they'd still do it, as long as they have a say in it. but then again, what do i know?

Another thing, seeing as so few acclaimed brit bands ever bother coming down here, doing so would garner them good rep on their part and the great possibility of earning them so many new fans. a lot of m'sians would check them out despite not knowing much about them, just cos so few good acts ever bothered with us. not saying that they'd sell out per se, but i reckon they'd sell a good amount of tickets, as far as malaysian standards go. i'm still hoping for a smaller venue on the side tho, impossible wish as it may seem to be.

and if they do, i'll make it a point to go again, even if it means they'll be playing pretty much the same set, even if it means my bank account will suffer a couple hundred bucks less in its confines.

my goodness, no wonder you didn't reply to that text msg. perish that thought, aunties are most welcome! sides, who am i to talk, being only a mere 4 years your junior? *snigger*

EDIT: and btw, Deb's 16 going on 17.

04-12-2006, 12:48 PM
no worries vspirit. u'r actually right about me being on the fence about going or not..and i still am. even if they do come here i'd still like to go to the s'pore gig, so that at least i could watch them twice.. thnx 4 correcting me bout deb's age. it really shows my ignorance..:D
bout d article, u feel the same way right? if only i know the e-mail add or website of the concert promoter.. i didn't know suede cancelled their gig here..

to deb, sorry 4 getting ur age wrong..;)

Oh man i hate it when i have to make a decision based on another person's decision.
I wonder when will Muse decide to come to Sg, is it on the 16th itself or earlier? I'm sure they would wana check out this damn island. I hope i can meet them in person on the streets or something! That'll be so cool. I imagine meeting them at Orchard Rd or something then eating at umm Burger King with them.

mynameisdebbie
07-12-2006, 04:57 AM
omg that'll be so cool! then you could show them around and be their tour guide! and who knows? you might get vip tickets or something along those lines!

oh please note that i have never been to singapore before, so if i do go next year, i'd wanna look around too! i have no idea how orchard road looks like. haha. heard its a great place!

Nutcracker
07-12-2006, 05:20 AM
Haha yeah vip tickets would be nice. Maybe then i'll sell my $85 ticket to someone else for half the price. IF i get VIPs heh heh. Orchard is something like the KLCC area. It's ok lah, things here are almost the same as in KL, but seriously i think KL is way cooler. I mean Times Square is so fun. With the amusement park inside and all. There's a new place called Vivocity which is dubbed to be another Orchard rd but i think they're spending too much on redundant malls.

Yeah and would you guys be interested to check out me bro's band, heavily influenced by Muse. www.myspace.com/monofonemusic

called the ticket agent this morning just to ask them a few questions about the concert. Deb dont worry, when i asked them are there any tickets left, the man answered "ada.. banyak lagi";) (hope u understand malay tho eheh). was asking about hotel booking actually coz dunno if i'm into hanging around all night cafes.. no offence, vspirit i'm just too old and requires enuf sleep plus i cant skip my prayers. found out that u can actually make hotel bookings there so that's kinda nice. is geylang near the concert area? coz d man said that there r alot of budget hotels in that area..

vspirit, are we're meeting up this sat evening?

Nutcracker
07-12-2006, 08:48 AM
No actually Geylang is about aprox. half hour away from Fort Canning which is near Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station. Geylang is between Paya Lebar and Eunos Station which is prob 7 - 8 stations away from Dhoby Ghaut.
Im not too sure about how the budget hotel pricings are like. But do take note that a certain part of Geylang is an infamous red light district. But don't worry it's just a small area.

crazy_mary

vspirit
07-12-2006, 01:47 PM
Yanno, crazy_mary, 28 really isn't all that old.

...or at least that's what i'm telling myself since i'll be getting there in four years...

And yes, Sat evening's a green light. Just need to decide on a time, is all. Oh and venue-wise, can we relocate to Pan Cafe in SS15? If you don't know where that is, it's actually very near to Subang Parade itself. You just have to drive in a little bit more, bout 450 meters or so.

Oh and I did check out for nearby budget accomodations and the nearest one to HarbourFront, where my friend and I are alighting AND departing from, is this hotel called Harbour Ville Hotel. It's less than 2km away from the port itself. I don't know the rates but I'm sure it should be plenty affordable, being categorized under 'Budget Hotel' and all...

As for hotels near Fort Canning Park, well, I didn't have any plans to stay around there to begin with (if my friend and I are staying at all, I wanna make damn sure we stay as near to the point of departure as possible, so as not to miss the bus home, you understand) but you might wanna check this site out (http://www.streetdirectory.com/). It's extremely helpful, especially if you're a tourist in Singapore.

And Nuts, you're a real nice helpful fella, aren't ya? ^_^ Don't change for anything in the world. Me, I'm your usual run-of-the-mill Malaysian Chinese, who just so happened to have been studying Japanese for the past six years and is currently working in a Japanese-speaking environment (tomorrow is English-speaking day, though, yippee!!). I'm not that fluent yet but would really like to be someday soon. And really, that's all there is to it. Nothing impressive at all. ^^;;

There's nothing much to helping ppl. Don't worry spirit, i'll do my best to be as helpful as i can for as long as i live.
It's so cool to learn a language that you don't hear everyday, i say. So are you into the japanese culture and stuff? I think the way they speak is so animated haha. Very interesting listening to them.

Er, heya, Kuciku. Selamat...datang?

And that's about as far as I'll go.

LONG READ AHEAD OF YOU. KUCIKI, I SUGGEST YOU READ IT. NUTS, YOU PROBABLY DON'T HAVE TO BUT DON'T LET ME STOP YOU IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. OTHERWISE, JUST GO AHEAD AND SKIP TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH WHICH IS ADDRESSED TO YOU IN REPLY TO YOUR QUERY

I think I understand your feeling so you can go right ahead if you want, since most of us here will more or less understand perfectly what you're saying (but I had a little trouble since your spelling just sorta threw me off for a bit there...or is that bahasa kampung, or BM from the East Coast or something? I'm from the city so I don't really get much of the spelling there...) anyway, but me, I'll answer in English, thank you very much. It's not like our general standard of English is great to begin with, so pardon me if I may, I'm going to use it as much as I can to promote the fact that not all Malaysians can't use the language properly.

Speaking of 'bahasa kita', the BM you're using doesn't seem very much like it to me. Not the one I know anyway. If it's from a local region I'm unfamiliar with, I apologize for being presumptious, but if you're really sincere about wanting to speak it, how about using the standard version of BM instead? And why I choose to use English rather than BM is cos while I love both my country and its national language, and I understand it more or less perfectly, it however, is neither my mother tongue nor my second language (which is English, if you can't already guess...which actually is more like my first but since it isn't my mother tongue, well...what can I do?), like it seems to be yours so when I DO speak it, it'll never come out as natural for me. It's not even my third language, if I have to be honest. It /is/ probably my fourth and on a personal level, it's not something I'm ashamed of at all (I would be if I don't know it at all, which of course, isn't true in my case, either).

In fact, let me go further as to say I'm not good at expressing myself in any other language as well as I can in English. Not even my mother tongue, truth be told, nor Japanese, a language which I'm very interested in and have been learning for a few years out of my own accord, but even then, I think I can express myself far better in these two languages than I can in BM, a language that I have love for simply because it's my country's national language, but sadly not the interest to further hone.

Speaking of interest, I hope to be able to use Japanese well someday. Am working towards it now, in fact, er...more or less. But anyway, back to BM. Words like "Cis", "Celaka", "Aduh", "Alamak" do come in handy sometimes, cos after all, I am Malaysian at heart. xD So in case you did, please don't get the impression that I'm less patriotic than you are, and I'd speak BM in a heartbeat when certain situations call for it (with a little trouble and probably not a little amount of stuttering, yes, but I'd still do it without hesitation) but this isn't one of them. This is a forum where I want to be able to express myself with as little trouble as possible. If I'm going to hit a snag every time I try to even in a place as free as this is, I might as well not post at all, innit. Which is why I suggest you keep on using BM, even if it's only allowable in this thread, if that's the language you find easier to express yourself in. After all, one of the greater beauties of our country is our Muhibbah culture. Saying something in BM and then having it being replied to in English or whatever other language that's prevalent in our country, as though the languages are one and the same, is no less impressive than speaking only one of these languages and it's another facet to our country which I'm extremely proud of.

Plus, general population aside, quite a number of us M'sians are able to use English well, unlike some of the other countries in which thread you were indicating as speaking their own language, so we choose to speak it instead of BM. Remnants of being forced while in school has left a slightly less than positive impression on me so now I won't ever use it unless, like I said earlier, certain situations arise where I have to. I hope you understand. But like I suggested, do continue speaking in BM. It is fun to see our national language being spoken but don't get mad when some of us don't respond to you in kind, OK? Cos we all have our reasons. The long rant above is just mine alone.

Oh yeah, and when I say I have love for my country, please do not mistake it as my holding the same amount of adoration for its government as well. The latter and former are two very different things, as some of you should very well know. But let's not discuss this cos it's neither the time nor the place. Especially not the place.

And aw, look what you did. You've gone and sparked off a rant. I must've been unconsciously holding it in for quite some time. =/ Oh well, read or not, at least everything's out of my system now.

Nuts, yeah I'm interested in their language and their food and I guess, in a way, their culture and history as well. I also like the nature in their country. As far as pop culture goes, my interest is until the extent of certain genres of anime, manga, and possibly music as well (very limited, tho) . Can't say I'm too keen on other aspects of it (fashion and whatnot...then again, I'm not keen on fashion, period xD).

OH, KEHIJAUAN! SAKITNYA MATAKU!!

ok no i'm not mocking our language, but if you insist, kuciku. and the fact that we are living in a multiracial country kinda means that we are biligual people too. but it just so happens that english is our first language. as it is also the international language. hence we communicate in english here. thats my reason for it anyway (besides the fact that i almost failed my BM paper... but you didnt need to know that) :$

and yeah muse_music it is pemecah kacang.. haha. and about the whole no photography thing.. thats where cameraphones come in handy! :D

And who are you to talk? Your BM hurts my brain! And you're the one still schooling!
Er...aduh, dasyatnya BM-mu!!!

Anyway, after seeing the sorry state of both our so-called BM prowess, I think kuciku gets the idea.I mean it's so bad, and not only that, we /look/ and /sound/ so bad using it, it almost looks as if we're mocking it, when we're really not. If the fella still insists, though, then he/she must either be immune or patriotic to the point of masochism.

And you almost failed? Hah, I got a P7! A P7, I tell you!! (Then I bucked up and managed to scrape by with a C4 when it mattered, whew)

09-12-2006, 02:38 PM
it's not like i can't understand it at all, yeah? i can read it just fine, you know. and if push comes to shove i can probably string together a decent, if not stiff, sentence. but doing that requires time to think, in a way which i can do while writing but not while speaking. and that sorta thinking is inconvenient anyway cos when i wanna write down something that's in my head, it's hard to do so without that something escaping my head cos I took too long to write it down.

Penin is near Orchard, City Hall to be exact. Nearer to Dhoby Ghaut than Orchard. I am from the east, some place called Bedok Reservoir Rd. No my bro is on the drums. Yeah his vocalist is really into Matt, you have no idea..

You're rite about taking the train from Kranji and sleeping all the way to Dhoby Ghaut haha.. Why don't you try to get ur bro to come with you to the gig? Yeah no photography but I'm gonna bring a digicam anyway. But i imagine being at the front, i will be quite exposed to the security ppl thus making it difficult to take pics... :(

it's just gonna be my friend and I. there's still a spot open for crazy_mary but from the way things are going with her, it's kinda doubtful it'll be filled. but i'll keep it open still cos, well, who knows, right?

anyway, yeah, meeting up sounds good but my guess is that it'd have to be after the concert. nuts' probably gonna be way in front of me in the queue and while it sounds good to spend all the time waiting getting to know each other, i doubt it'd happen what with us all coming from different ways by different modes at different times, and everyone being too anxious trying to hold their place in line and whatnot and not to mention we don't even know what each other look like.

after the show though, when we're still high on it and have all the time in the world, sounds entirely possible. i'm not sure how to device a way to meet up, tho, what with not having seen you guys before and not being a local. maybe we should leave the planning to a local. someone with military knowledge would be good. someone like, say, the fort canning ambassador. :D

What does 'pornogenic matt/dom' suppose to mean?I know wht is porno...

Nutcracker
14-12-2006, 02:43 PM
Uh-huh. riiiiiight..... :p

U might be right about me being near the start of the queue if there is one. I think that it's a swell idea to meet after the show. About how we're going to meet;

-First, at the stroke of 2200hrs, we flank the last known rendezvous (which is the stage), to destination: 'gig main gate'. Point to note; If the 'meeting' isn't over, do not, i repeat, do not proceed with plan Lima Foxtrot aka flanking. Await further instructions from General Bellamy if that happens.

-Second, due to the massive amount of civilian life at the said destination(refer to first point), it will be difficult to get a visual of Mr Nut i.e me. What i suggest is to look out for clothing that will be announced when the mission date is near, due to security reasons. Just pray that I will get a customised Muse T-shirt print that'll hopefully be different from the other civilian.

-Third, if all else fails, please proceed to the nearest phone booth and dial the dude's number. This is only if all else fails, but i seriously hope this is not going to happen. I just included this just so that my mission briefing will be lengthy.

Let's make this happen guys. For the world. :)

Sir, Yes, Sir! (Altho I didn't get head nor tail what you're talking about, Sir!) But I must say, sir, General Bellamy might leave us all to die out here in the field.

And my guess is that the term is a hybrid of "Pornographic" and "Photogenic". But don't take my word for it.

the thread was actually called Photogenic Matt/Dom at first.. but i am assuming that the pictures got a bit too.. i dunno. good. sexy. awesome. hot. cool. porno. whatever you wanna call it.. so the thread title was changed to Pornogenic Matt/Dom.

It's how the main entrance of the gig should look like. I'm sure we can hang around somewhere in that vicinity to gather first after the show. Yeah mobile would be so convenient :D. I'll tell you guys what I'll be wearing, and i'll ensure that it's something soo cooool (to me at least) and uncommon, cuz i plan to design my own Muse tee and print it at the shop. No man. In the awesome army, we have to keep our hair at a certain length. I updated my profile. That was taken sometime last year i think HAHA. I'd rather not show myself in uniform. I doubt u guys will be able to recognise me with that pic.

i'd say that was a nice comeback but rather than all of us showing you our photos, wouldn't it be easier to show us just yours cos it's just one and you're the designated tourguide...or should i say unit captain...or was that ambassador? i can't seem to keep track anymore. you flip roles faster than i can change my underwear.

but if you're shy, don't worry about it. i suppose the meeting point and a description (or possibly even picture) of your ever-so-unique t-shirt will have to do.

Yeah true.. I think it'd be best if you guys add me on msn careleaf@hotmail.com as i don't use friendster:rolleyes:. Then i can not feel so awkward about displaying my pic cuz it's less scrutinised by the eyes of the public. And you shall address me as 2nd General Nut-tella. I serve General Bellamy. I move up the ranks pretty quick, you see.

I'm so going to do my own T-shirt, i'll definitely post the pic! :D

Stadium Negara? Isn't that, like, a steamboat restaurant near Jln. Ampang or something?

And can you actually be ranked a general and serve under another general? You can't , can you? So you'd either have to demote yourself to Brigadier General or promote Bellamy to Führer. Herr Bellamy.

i'm not a muse fan yet but i'm so there on 25th feb in 2006.
for singaporean..stadium negara is like an arena..not an open stadium...can fit like 10k.
last time i went to stadium negara way back in 1996 to attend alanis concert.

so i'm gonna start digging their stuff...
i heard they are a good live band (thom yorke said so)
heard so much about them from radiohead fans.

Hmm...I heard through the grapevine that the acoustics of teh place fail tho. isn't it like really ramshackle with air-conditioning that only cares about cooling the back of your knees or summat? and given the fact that MUSE is an arena rock band...i'm not sure how much justice this rundown shack (which i thought was torn down ages ago btw, which is why i sincerely, tho admittedly dumbly, thought what business does a steamboat restaurant have to host an arena rock band like they're filipino imports?) will be able to do a band like them. and it's indoor isn't it? why, yes. yes it is. indoor + slimey acoustics = :noey:

but i'm happy they're coming at all so i'd prolly still go, if just to compare the two shows but this time, i'll prolly get a sitting ticket instead of a standing one...

...then again if the acoustics are gonna suck, i might as well try to get a spot nearer to teh stage and gawk at their maestroism(sic) instead of throughly trying to get into the sound of the music itself.

would be great if they had gotten bukit jalil instead...or at the very least, stadium merdeka, which has the open-air concept. =((

i'm gonna assume the sound system in fort canning rocks, or at least will rock harder than stadium negara's.

and 25th's a Sunday btw. It's around the end of the CNY holidays.

p/s: and thom yorke said they're good? how come i don't see anyone in teh main boards broadcasting this like crazy? could you have only dreamed it up?

well, this is the info:

Ticket Pricing :
Numbered seats : RM 180, RM 140, RM 110
Free Seating : RM 80, RM 50
Arena Rockzone : RM 110
Tix hotline : 03 2282 2020..

i'm dying to go, but hopefully i'll raise money for the tix by the time tickets are sold :$

huh? did you call up to ask or something? prices seem affordable. i'm looking at the 180 seated one but...what's arena rockzone? do they mean standing? and how come it's cheaper than some of the seated areas??

um...no i'm not really familiar with the workings when it comes to the local concert circuit...i don't even know where to buy tickets from if i wanna do a walk-in purchase...

what i find even more amazing than the fact they even had m'sia on their radar at all and made good on their landing on it, tho, is the fact that the organizers have finally gotten through the thick heads of those who run our Immigration Dept. that's truly a feat, if i ever saw one.

EDIT: nvm, just like you, i googled. i could totally see your tracks, dude. way to leave bread crumbs.
and if i can buy tix at rock corner, like that tiger page said people could for when WAS was here, then i'm all set. (then again, i seem to remember the guy from the rock corner outlet i frequent telling me that if muse were to ever come to kl, tickets can be gotten via his outlet...but it's so far back in the past i can barely recall it) now i just have to find out what exactly is arena rockzone and should i opt it over the 180 seated zone.

...and since when do steamboat places have arenas? this stadium negara must really be something else. i'd go even if it means i have to eat their XXX spicy steamboat, or whatever kind of steamboat it is that they sell there.

you should aim for arena rockzone...
it should be the one in front of the stage standing and all(provided u camp in front of stadium gate early in order to be in front)...
if i'm not mistaken the more expensive numbered seating is the seating area viewing the stage directly...
basically the more expensive tix is just like the free seating tix but with better view.

*this info is according to the seating placement the last time i watched a concert there.

why thank you for the advice, not.tired.happy!

i sorta assumed rockzone is just a fancy term for standing so i guess i guessed right. think i'll go for the 180 seated, though, if I can get a direct view of the stage like you said, as I probably would've had my fill of standing at Fort Canning...

oh! and welcome to the boards.

if i'm getting numbered seated, there won't be any reason for me to camp now, willl there? however if ir's arena rockzone...iunno. how nuts are malaysian fans usually? i haven't really had much experience attending concerts here in malaysia, you see...

but to be on the safe side, i spose sometime in the morning? like...9 or 10....? but again, i dunno about the fans here so there may be some who would've been there since the night before. i ain't camping overnite no matter whose concert it is, not in a muggy place (yes, I mean that in more ways than one) like this country is, so i guess the earliest i'll go is around 11ish or so. but it's gonna be so warm, yanno? which is why i'm more partial towards numbered seated in the first place. this way i'm gonna show up like...a half hour or 15 min before the show starts. If I'm driving, maybe slightly earlier to leave concession time for carpark hunting. xxD

how early do u think we should camp?

haha~ i'm obsessed:p

i don't think you have to camp overnight etc...
to be on the safe side, maybe you have to be there like 4-5 hours before the gates open...
and one more thing, you have to be physically fit to sprint to the front of the stage once you're in the stadium (if u insist to stand in front of the stage lah)...i saw ppl do that...

Tired.Unhappy
19-12-2006, 01:35 AM
regarding numbered seats...
i don't think it's worth it just for direct view of the stage...
it's quite far away from the stage i might say...you have to bring binocular...
you might as well buy the free seating tix where you can seat nearer to the stage (sideway)

so what songs do you reaaally really want Muse to play live, that they hardly play live anymore? mine are

1. Sing For Absolution
2. Falling Away With You (they've never played this live before. damn it)
3. Glorious
4. Futurism
5. Dead Star
6. In Your (freakin) World.
7. Muscle Museuumm!
8. Shrinking Universe

5. Sunburn
6. Citizen Erased
7. got sommore but i can't remember them

Don't really have anything specific in mind. Anything they play will sound good to me, since I've never heard any of em live with my very own ears. If they play Unintended, though, it'd sound beyond good. It'd sound absolutely D-I-V-I-N-E.

But then again, I guess seeing a white xmas here this year would be more probable.

crazy_mary, i need to ask. i heard from a friend of mine who went to the LP concert earlier that the concert ticketing system here works in strange and mysterious ways. she said that early bird standing ticket buyers aren't given a discount, but a reserved place to stand near the stage (the first four rows or summat), and the ushers will know you're an early bird simply by looking at the registration number of your ticket (tix are all numbered...??) and if it falls within the early bird digits, then you're in. Which means that if you don't hold an early bird ticket, you don't get into the first four rows, no matter how early you start queueing.

now, i'm not sure that system only comes into play for popular concerts (and rest assured LP /is/ popular) because you sure as hell didn't mention that for the previous concerts you went to (Hoobastank and Incubus among others...didn't even know Incubus came, truth be told) and these are popular in their own right (tho probably not as much as LP), or for all concerts and you're just not aware. but you said you were right up front for the hoob concert and you didn't mention anything about being an early bird ticket holder and such...maybe you were. i dunno, were you?

or then again, maybe it depends on the venue. were any of the concert venues you went to held in any of the stadiums? cos i heard LP was in stadium merdeka...

...anyway i'm kinda confused right now. if you could shed some light on this matter, it'd be thoroughly appreciated.

24-12-2006, 03:14 PM
hey vspirit.. i guess ur friend is quite rite in one way. i do remember when i went to LP concert in stad merdeka, we (my friends and i) bought d early bird ticks to get to the place nearest to the stage (u had to b 18 n above to b at this part of d stad). it was d most expensive and there was no discount since u were like in an exclusive area of d concert. the ticks showed us the gate number and yes, they were numbered but we still had to line up like the rest of the people who paid for d same ticks. those who came early went in first. no such thing as following any numbers on ur ticks. stad merdeka is a very big stadium with a number of gates to enter.. they've divided the std to sections according to ur ticks, to get close to d stage u've got to have d early bird ticks n b more than 18..or b a stupid contest winner (unfair if u asked me..some of 'em were not even a fan)

As for the hoobastank concert we were at d front coz there was not a lot of people and they would rather sit than stand infront of the stage.. i bought d ticks at the last minute really, it was a free-standing event i think. we arrived at 6 but bukit kiara was still quite empty. there was a section rite in the middle and front of the stage reserved for some contest winners but other than that just d normal fans who bought their ticks. i didn't even have to line up.

and for incubus.. well, it was my worst concert really.. it was a free standing which only cost RM100.. so first come first serve..no early birds discount as usual  we were there by 12 and were behind this group of indonesians who were there from 9am i guess.. we were pushed to the back coz d crowd who came late (after 5 mind u..) kept pushing like maniacs.. i was rite in front of the stage when i finally entered d stad but had to get out coz i couldnt stand the pushing plus it was very hot.. unlike stad merdeka which is an open stad, bkt kiara was like a sauna.. i wonder how stad negara will b like...

but anyways what i can say is that..it all depends on the ticks that ur gonna buy and how lucky u r..d LP concert was organised in a different way than d ones in bkt kiara since d stadium is big, and they divided it into sections. guess it'll b d same as muse in stad negara, coz d ticks prices r varied..i'm just gonna buy d one which will allow me to b nearest to the stage..and will b lining up early coz i noe d crowd in m'sia never follow any lines, they'll definitely push u to b to the front..but if u r early than u get to b infront of the lines and not allow anyone else to cut u.. i'm not expecting any early birds discounts either coz i find it weird that galaxy entertainment is responsible bringing muse here since they've only been bringing a lot of chinese acts from what i heard. even their website is in chinese..*sigh* i guess d only way for u to b sure is when u buy d ticks ask the seller which part of the stad u're gonna be at...r u still unsure whether u'r gonna get standing or seats ticks? perhaps we should get d same ticks so we can help each other out to get the best place at the concert.. coz that happened to d concerts that i've been to.. people who were in groups, they were kinda stand in like a 'wall' to make sure nobody cut their lines..:D hope this clears ur clowd a bit..

how did you get those early bird tix, pray tell? did you get them just by going to the vendor and buying them early? i mean since you were clearly over 18 and all...so as long as you have that on your side and are early to go buy, you'd be guaranteed an early bird tix? or do you have to go through some other channel? who organized those concerts you went to anyway? cos the only other recent english concert organized by galaxy is INXS back in August...

and while you still have to queue up, it doesn't really matter even if you don't right? since you'd be guaranteed a special area? like, even if you're a latecomer, and you may not get to stand directly in front of the stage, you'd still be near it anyway (fourth row, maybe), right?

for d LP ticks we bought 'em on a day before it went on sale to d public coz luckily my friend heard on d radio that they were having this special ticks 4 celcom customers..i remember there was a big buzz about LP coming down here since it was like d first time a huge rock act performing here. we had to go 2 HRC to buy em but i dunno about d rest of the people who went there. heard that u could still get dis so called early bird ticks if u just buy em from d ticks agent like usual. if i'm not mistaken Jojo's Entertainment n celcom were d organizers.

yeah i guess, it all depends on what ticks u r buying really. i remember some kids i noe had to buy d RM100 ticks and they were at d half way end of the std even tho they were lining up from early morning coz of d age rules. and if u paid 4 d RM88 ticks u were at d sitting area which was FAR from d stage..(my sis bought that one) i'm assuming muse concert will b d same, minus d age limit thing. d stad will probably b divided by sections n u just haf 2 make sure that ur buying d ticks dat will allow u to be closest 2 d stage. but for u to get right infront u'd still haf to que up..coz d area will b big. guess it will b different from hoobastank n incubus concert since both of 'em were free standing/ seating , one price ticks event. so u had to come early and 'pushed' to get to d front.
haf u been to any of local concerts? i noe that u've been to RHCP's in oz..was it different? i'm dying 2 noe when d ticks will be start selling..

so.. if you get the 'early bird' tickets, means that there'll be saved standing places nearest to the stage? but what about the normal ticketters? knowing malaysians, we'd be pushing and pushing to get to the nearest anyway.

i hope there's no age limit for the muse concert. if there is, i'm surely gonna try climbing over the fence to the 18++ side, like what i did for LP. or... at least, what i tried to do in LP. heh.

vspirit
25-12-2006, 09:06 AM
my first thought would be that the age limit thing is silly. but then thinking deeper on it, i guess they have their reasons.

i called galaxy prod. and dropped my name and contact anyway, cos they said if i do that, they'd get in touch with me once they have the details (which they don't have much of yet) and ask if i wanna reserve tix and how many a few days before they release it to public sale via vendors. not sure if they'd make good on their word tho, *shrug* cos this sounds almost too easy...unless they only take into account people who call really early and have a cap on how many they'll get in contact with. i have no idea at all, really. if i can't get an early bird standing tix, i'll just get a seated one elsewhere. not gonna worry myself over it.

i've never been to concerts here in msia before. i've only ever been to a few in Oz. i almost went to one back in my high school days cos a friend of mine wanted company but then I lost the ticket on the first day itself xxxxD. oops.

hey debbie.. i was actually talking about d LP early bird ticks.. i dunno bout muse's concert ticks, not sure if there'll be any early bird ticks.. and yeah i agree wif u vspirit, d age limit thing is kinda silly, but i think that they dont care about it anymore these days. it was a huge deal when LP came here, coz lots of parents made some noise in the paper but that was like 4? 5? years ago?.. but i like d fact that there was no kids pushing me at d LP gig compared to those kids in incubus concert. n if d galaxy people call u, let us noe..it'll help to end my pain of waiting and not knowing anything bout d concert..did they tell u when they gonna start selling d ticks? went 2 d indonesian thread.. their's r gonna b on d 7th Jan..
waa mau tikitt.. eheh berjangkit dari muse_music..:D where is that kid anyway? hope he/she is ok coz of d flood in JB.

i hope there're early bird tickets for Muse anyway! i wont feel so worried then. hey crazy_mary, you're not going for the sg gig?

oh one thing about the malaysian organizers for concerts, its always very... messy. like for one concert i went to 5 years ago, a westlife concert (i know, i dislike them so much now), sooo many people were sneaking into the arena side. and my friend who paid the same amount for the tickets got the numbered seats one whereas i got the plastic chair seats nearer to the stage in the arena. it wasnt really fair to her la.
its all.. very very messy.

I'm thinking this /might/ be one way (http://tigermusic.com.my/landing.html) to win yourself some early bird tix. Don't quote me on it, tho.

And this might mean tix will start selling on the 5th. Might. That, or they're just gonna announce it on that day.

And if Tiger's involved, I'm thinking there's gonna be some age restriction thing going on around somewhere. Not very sure where. Hopefully this will just mean that beer's available and people below 18 aren't allowed to buy em or something...tho I'm sure some minors won't be too happy with that either xxD

I find it thoroughly amusing that they're one of the co-organizers tho. Cos Tiger's actually my third favorite beer, right after Bud and Asahi, to the horror of most of my beer-drinking, spirit-guzzling buddies (Corona and Kirin come respectively after that, if any of you are wondering). Ch, Heineken's so overrated, if you ask me. So if that's gonna be available that day, night, whatever, I'd be one happy camper.

On a different note, one of the xmas pressies I got turned out to be MCR's latest. Listening to it now and the tune Mama really amuses me, I find.

lol i dont like beer. its too... bitter. heh. unless its EXTREMELY diluted. but what are the odds of that? so.. i dont mind if there's an underage limit for BEER only. :) i'm more into cocktails! they're just too freakishly expensive. :(

how'd you know it was either going to be on sale or announced on the 5th?

i dont really like MCR.. too punk for me. and waaay overplayed. if i hear that black parade song again i swear i will kill myself. :stunned:

25-12-2006, 03:18 PM
Yeah, some people don't. I didn't start out liking it either. Hated it, in fact, cos my first proper encounter with it (not counting the time when I was eight...my theory stands that you can't really have a proper encounter with alcohol when you're that much underaged, inebriated or not) ended up disastrous due to the fact I consumed them on an empty stomach. Yeah, yeah, what was I thinking and all that. But wait--ah, well, everything's an experience in itself. I now know firsthand exactly why it's a bad idea to have beer for dinner despite it being made out of wheat.

Truth be told, I still don't like the taste much but I love the buzz it gives me after a few rounds. And I suppose using the word 'favorite' isn't quite so appropriate. 'Least dislike' is probably more accurate. xD The buzz...the buzz is good and something I love either way. I hope they serve free Tiger draft at the venue. If not, hell, I'll pay for a round or two if it means I can get my pre-show fix enough to be able to properly shed some of my inhibitions.

And yeah cocktails are expensive but deeelightful. But they also make me more shitfaced smashed than beer or wine ever do. Found out firsthand when I overdid it once. Not quite an experience I'd want to relive again either so I've been semi-monitoring my dosage ever since. xxD

And I don't know know. I was just assuming know. Doesn't even garner the word know, in fact, cos I don't really. It's all basically conjecture on my part. Besides, that's what the page is implying we do.

MCR wasn't (prolly still isn't, really) my cuppa tea. Eh, what the heck, might as well announce my stand on em and all the hoohaa surrounding their American tour with MUSE as support:

I didn't like them. I thought their previous album, 'Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge' was unique but just, like i said earlier, not my cup of tea. I still think so. I abhorred 'I'm Not OK (I Promise)', and thought it a sorry excuse for a song, and my impression of the band took a more definite plunge from an already not-so-high spot due to that alone. That, and irrational as it may be, I didn't like Gerard Way's face.

Then 'The Black Parade' came about. The songs are decent. More than decent, these people can actually write songs. And they're developing towards a direction that's making me see them in a more positive light. Their live shows have been improving, if some of what I've seen on YT is anything to go by. Seeing as this would be TBP tour, which I honestly think is one of the better, more solid and not to mention honest albums released this year, that if I were in a band that's going to tour with them for this album, I won't find the thought of it appalling at all. Quite the opposite, in fact. For coming out with TBP alone, they now have my grudging respect.

But I still don't like Gerard Way's face.

lol.. i've never been drunk before actually. quite happy to say that, to be honest. but i've been high before. lol its so fun being high. you laugh at EVERYTHING. to be honest, i think i'd enjoy the concert more if i was high/tipsy, that way i get to loosen up and jump and screaming my lungs out without caring what others might think. the downside however, i might lose my balance and fall and die

one i got high, i think i got a slight hangover the next morning. i didnt feel good at all i puked after eating half a slice of pizza. IS that a slight hangover? i'm not too sure actually. heh.

i like cocktails more cause.. well, they taste sweet. :) its all about the taste for me, to be honest. i cant stand the bitterness. and i cant stand the .. taste alcohol gives you if you drink shots. note that i have not drank a shot before in my entire life! but damn, i shouldnt be saying all this since i'm still underaged. but oh who cares! who has their first taste of alcohol after they're 18 anyway?

and about MCR, i bought "three cheers for sweet revenge" from a nearby pasar malam, and i listened to it ONCE and only once. it was too punk for me... it started getting annoying. however, my only favourite songs are Helena and The Ghost OF You. probably cause they're slow and emo-ey.. and they're the ONLY slow songs off the album. the rest are just noise.

i havent heard the black parade yet though. by your so-called review, it sounds good. lol. i've recently found a new miracle the internet can give you... BITTORRENT! took my long enough, i know i know. lol.

i used to think Gerard Way was... good looking. :$ in The Ghost Of You vid, he DOES look good! but once he bleached his hair, he is GAY GAY GAY IMO. and yes, i heard he actually IS homosexual. :stunned:

Dunno bout Way's sexuality and sure as hell don't care enough to. I must say that his lil bro has a certain sort of appeal...in a way that although he's a couple years older than I am, it still makes me feel like a pedophile for even thinking of checking him out. xxxxD And I'm certainly no pedophile!!!11one11!I hope11!one!

And crazy, I think you should just join anyway. If they disqualify you, well, it doesn't change anything but if they don't and it's eligible to all M'sians, think of all the hair you'd be pulling out when you realize you could've stood to win something but didn't cos you let your other half hold you back. Throw away your caution, tell that other half of yours to shut the hell up, what have you got to lose? I doubt they'll ask for proof of purchase or something lame like that. It's an Internet contest, for Chrissakes. And backstage passes seem unlikely but hey, like I said, you'll never know if you don't at least try. Nothing's holding you back from that at least. Well, nothing and noone but yourself. xxD

Artiste: MUSE
Venue: Stadium Negara (not the steamboat restaurant, I've since learned)
Date: Feb 25, 2007
Time: 8:00ish (I reckon...forgot to ask)
Organizers: Galaxy Group (http://www.galaxy.com.my/)and Tiger Music (http://tigermusic.com.my/)
Galaxy Group ticket window opens: 5th January 2007
Special Promotion: 30% off all ticket prices for whoever purchases it at Sungei Wang Plaza on 7th January. A One-day only event, ticket booth opens at 3p.m. and located on the Groud Floor where the event stage and Coffee Bean are at.
Age restriction: None whatsoever (or so the Galaxy personnel claimed)
Early bird specials: None (so going there early on the day of the concert counts, and counts a lot, I guess).

So...no age restriction can only mean one thing...no beer. I'm seriously contemplating the wisdom in going now...

...just kidding. The band'll just have to work extra hard onstage to work me into a high.

I guess my plans are set for next Sunday. xD

Yeah, as a matter of fact, some of us do speak it on an everyday basis. However, there're a whole lot of us who don't, as well. Bumiputera government workers, mainly. But the latter's just my opinion and/or impression, and not all of them, cos sometimes you get an anomaly like crazy_mary here. xD As to why we, or at least I, am not partial to using our national language, well, as I'm loath to repeat myself, especially for subjects that'll spark off rants from me, so here's a previous rant I did on the same subject (http://board.muse.mu/showpost.php?p=2436470&postcount=300).

If you don't feel like going through the rant--and don't worry, I don't blame you at all--though, here's a summary: at the end of the day, just as what crazy_mary has said, it's what most of us here on the board are more comfortable with. And as a bonus, should people from other countries come in here, well, they'll be able to participate in some of our discussions as well.

And I think the 30% discount is more than worth the couple of days wait, my dear mary. You'd only be paying RM77 for a standing ticket rather than RM110. Lots of things you can do with that RM33 you saved. It means even more to me since I've already spent a bomb for their upcoming S'pore show. So rest assured I'll be at Sg. Wang bright and early (ok maybe not the latter...but i'll prolly be there sometime early afternoon, at least) on the 7th, instead of hooking up with Galaxy on the 5th. Would you like to meet up again on that day, btw?

Well, to make it clear, I wasn't slagging you guys off. I find it actually cool that you guys speak in english, because like vspirit says, its open for anybody I guess. I was just curious.

Oh and vspirit, what a read. I did read it all though. I'm not sure myself why. If I understood that right, I find there's no need to force someone to speak/reply in a certain language unless they can't understand the language. More like ego-matter to me it seems. (Although I couldn't really tell what your mother language is  )

But anyway..enjoy the muse chats/concert people!:musesign:

yeah i know you weren't. it just sparks off an irrational feeling of anger within me every time someone assumes that when someone's a malaysian, he/she has to speak our national language. usually it'd be a complete valid and reasonable assumption if this wasn't malaysia we're talking about. the main reason, i guess, behind why i got a little defensive (ok maybe more than a little) is that people tend to forget that malaysia isn't a homogenous country and is a country that doesn't really make it compulsory for non-bumiputera to adopt a malay name or to speak the malay language, and that while most people are able to speak malay, being of the malay race or no, a lot actually choose not to.

i'm sorry if i shocked you. ^^; that little rant really had nothing to do with you at all. or the person who sparked it off in the first place (tho i distinctly remember being more irked by what he/she said than what you did). it's nothing personal at all. the way you asked was very nice and friendly. i'm sorry if i came off a little (or a lot) scary. hope i didn't scare you away from coming back...tho it seems it might be too late, i might already have...

Hmm, that's very interesting. Didn't know that most people do prefer to speak in english. It really is multi-cultural. I've never been to Malaysia, despite how close it was to me, so I haven't been exposed to the culture and I guess it really is different from Indonesia.

Oh, Happy New Years everybody.:)

Bakumatsu, i'm searching d same tickets as u r.. my guess is d rockzone ticks (RM110) will get me closest to d stage..

debbie, if u live in DU, it's actually not that far to Bkt Bintang rite? just take d LRT or was it STAR.. or s'thing else ..alamak forgot la what's it called .. and stop at Bkt Bintang station near Berjaya Time Square n just walk to SG Wang..

mynameisdebbie
02-01-2007, 03:37 PM
i hope its the rockzone tickets.. cause thats the one i'm gonna get. and yeah i do take the LRT and then the monorail to Sg Wang sometimes.. but i normally do that once a year. and i've already done that twice last month, that the thought of it is just so... exhausting. :( but i guess i just haaave to do it. for my wallet's sake anyway. :)

is everyone gonna get the rockzone ticks or seating ticks too?

you know what's almost as attractive as the awesome Dominic himself (besides Matt of course :$ )?? his freakin transparent drumset! omg i wish he'd bring it to Malaysia and Singapore. its so.. beeeaoootiful. but not as beautiful as the drummer himself, of course :yesey:

Why would they have those poor buggers pay RM233 for? If anything, they'll be the ones getting paid for doing their jobs. o.O

No, that's the free standing zone right in front of the stage (bout four or five rows of people max, I reckon) which the LP concert organizers made available only to VIPs, contest winners, early birds and such. The organizers this time around are doing things differently by opening them up to the public at a lofty price. Not overly so but lofty, nonetheless. The spot being right in front of the stage and thus extremely limited obviously is a major factor. I'll be trying to grab myself one or two of these come Sunday. If I can't tho, I'll settle for the purple standing area.

There's a link there that'll lead you to the floor seating plan. Why don't you take a look at it if you haven't already?

ibelieve, i'm also questioning the wisdom of buying a standing ticket since i'm not quite sure i'd have recovered from standing around for the upcoming singapore gig but i figured if the stadium's acoustics are going to leave much to be desired, i might as well try to get into the stick and stink of the pitt, gyrating the night away.

However things change since I found out Muse will be in town. Thanks to all the info from this thread, I've become one of the earliest people queuing for those tickets. Got 3 'The Pitt' passes. Huhuhu. :D

hi, and welcome ^_^

and yeah can't really fault you for not being a fan of forums but i'm mighty glad you chose to sign up anyway and talk to us. i hope you can make your stay more permanent. ^_^

well crazy_mary, her friend and I were about third in line. the group almost right up front that consists of two ladies in tudung and a chinese...person...in an orange tee would be us. i would be the chinese...person...in the orange tee. you definitely can't be the first two as the girl in who was first in line only bought one ticket (dunno which, tho) and the group after her bought 17 in total (15xPitt tix). The group behind us bought about 8 Pitt tix so yours should either be the one after them or possibly a bit after. What time did you arrive? If you're in the before-1130 crowd, it's possible I might remember seeing you since I kept on looking to the back and there were fewer faces to remember back then...

kOre
07-01-2007, 12:18 PM
Thanks vspirit :D

Yeah, I remember the 'tudung' girl. I did talk to her, very impressive - first in line.:stunned: Somehow I don't think they're releasing much 'The Pitt' passes. Coz when it was my turn could see that there's not much left. Probably around 20-30 tickets more. I came in around 12pm, saw the line *it was up till KFC entrance at the time*. But decide to go upstairs for some Teppanyaki first. Hehehe I need my strength. It didn't progress much by the time we're back in the line around 12.45pm.

I wonder if the tickets are sold out for the day. Pity for those at the back. I mean the line was reaaaallly long. I'm all sore, but nevertheless satisfied. :D

kOre
07-01-2007, 12:32 PM

crazy_mary
07-01-2007, 12:47 PM
my back is killing me..standing from 11 till 3 was surely an achivement for me.. did u really talk to me kOre? or was it some other girls with tudung, since i'm too old 2 be called a 'girl' and there were a number of other girls wif tudung behind us.. i only remember being quite harsh (as vspirit told me) to people who were trying to cut d que..didn't mean to.. but they actually deserve it in one sense..:p

didnt actually haf enuf time to take more pics since my friend was really annoyed dat i still lingered around d crowded area after getting our tickets..didnt actually haf time to properly say hi to debbie. vspirit, i just realised dat i wanted to give u a treat.. but i just forgot.. sorry..

so here r 2 pics, d 1st is d counter itself crowded by people and d second d tail end of d line.. people here were patiently queueing up without realising some punks were cutting lines at d front.. sorry not vey good in managing attachment:$

vspirit
07-01-2007, 12:52 PM
huh? those aunties and myself were third, not first, in line. first was another girl but she wasn't wearing a tudung...so did you talk to the unbe-tudunged girl who was first in line, or one of them be-tudunged aunties that were very, very near to being first in line?

oh and your queueing up near KFC would mean you'd still be pretty far away from us...so nope, wouldn't have seen you then.

so i take the pitt tix are sold out. more or less. i did reserve a couple of tickets from galaxy at undiscounted price as a contingency plan should i fail to grab one of those and decide not to settle for anything less. i'll have to call the nice lady tomorrow to tell her to release them...if they aren't already sold off anyway ^^;

from the way you spoke tho, it sounds as if the organizers are only selling a limited amount of tix today. i doubt that's the case tho. if there's a chance of selling out everything, why won't they go ahead to do it? as opposed to keeping some tix at full price and run the risk of people not buying them cos they're too pricey. you know how malaysians are. surely they'd be expecting a large volume of people coming on the first day itself only BECAUSE of the 30% discount. If everything's limited, i honestly think they'd have said it loud and clear beforehand because no matter how bumbling the organizers are, this is one golden rule they can't break cos they can't run a successful business with that kind of clumsiness. but then again, the lady did entertain my request of holding onto my reserved tix til tomorrow when there's a huge chance i'll end up not needing them and she might as well have released them on the 7th when they'll definitely get sold. xxDD i hope not many did what i did...she's way nice but thinking back on it now, she really shouldn't have agreed, at least not up to the 8th anyway. xxxDD

what i'm wondering now is if the venue's sold out. it'd be wonderful if it is, wouldn't it? would tell the world something about us malaysians knowing how to appreciate good music without exactly being vocal about it. it'd certainly encourage the band to drop by again should they tour the world again in the future.xxD

and i think why most of us are shocked that there can be this many fans when muse isn't exactly commercially popular here (or anywhere else, really, not the way commercially popular is really defined, anyway) would be because most fans here actually do know their music and prefer to enjoy it quietly. that's a nice notion, don't you think? and the other reason would be the discount...xD it was certainly effective in attracting all us tortoise/kiamsiap (cross out whichever doesn't apply. for me, it's the first) types out of our shells. galaxy and tiger sure know how to draw us out, huh.

tho i tot their way of conducting the event was pretty piss poor...

EDIT: sorry, this was supposed to be post #480. i deleted and reposted cos i did a huge amount of editing. ^^;;; thanks for the pix, crazy. will check them out as soon as i'm done with this...

EDIT#2: cool~ the tail end was actually almost at the other side of the mall wasn't it? xxD

arrived at sg wang almost 4pm and i only managed to buy tickets(7 of them) at around 7pm...
by that time i think the pitt tix are still on sale since the guy queued in front of me bought the pitt tix.
bought the rm80(before discount) tickets because i don't think i would be able to stand for about 2 hours during the concert...furthermore i plan to record the show using my nokia n70...the video recording function isn't too bad...i recorded a few concerts already using the phone and the video and audio turned out alright(surprisingly)...good enough to upload on youtube etc

i started lining up from 1pm and got my tickets at about 3.30pm! very worth it btw. its kinda fun lining up early... you can just sit down and listen to your mp3 player and/or read mags. i saw lotsa people doing that. and you can 'tapau' food and stuff too. i started lining up in front of Nose... which is opposite the counter.

my expression for the huuuge turn out was    . seriously, i dunno whether to feel happy or shocked.. .or both. i never knew Muse would have so many fans! and i even made friends with these 2 ladies in front of us and they were as excited as we were... well, sorta. haha.

i was soo shocked, i really didnt believe it. i actually thought the line was for Lee Hom or soemthing. so i asked the people at the front, which was crazy_mary and vspirit! but i didnt know it was them.. lol. quite a funny way to have a real-life conversation without actually knowing we're each other, eh? :p

and vspirit, i'm sorry to say this but... I WONT BE GOING TO SINGAPORE!! *CRIES LIKE A MAD COW*. i'll be selling my tickets on MusEbay. if anyone's interested, PM me! and check the MusEbay thread for more details and whatnots.

vspirit, you're probably the only malaysian who gets to see Muse twice in 2007!! lol.

Hi, came upon this thread by googling muse + malaysia :D

From the looks of the queue today at Sg. Wang, Muse is unbelievably popular or just because the tickets are 30% percent discounted for today;) ...didn't expect that much of people  ..a bit disappointed by the venue and handling of the ticket sales, they could do much better..really much better without that annoying chinese radio stage performances thingy..and I was told off to go to the back of the queue..by fans, not the staff or the security, I didn't know the queue was way at the back coz nobody told us/direct us, and that sucks..

I waited in line for 45 minutes(I was in queue nearing Delifrance) and decided that the 30% discount is not really worth the hassle of lining up, better I'll just go take a chance by going to the Galaxy office and buy them or online ticketing.. I had other engagements by 6pm and I'm still sad coz I still got no ticket :( ...(insert appropriate Muse song here :D )..

Well here's hoping for some tickets and Muse playing Plug-in baby and Muscle Museum on Feb 25th!!!

Haha, I did talk to you then crazy_mary :D U're busy with ur phone at the time. Just talk to you to ask if this is the line for Muse instead of Leehom. Hey what are ya talking about, u look young to me. *compliments :D

vspirit, dunno what happen over your side but there are guards by the time I reach the red line, and they're are doing a pretty good job shooing those que-cutters. Can't blame them, I mean with all the commotion, MyFM event, the hardly seen Muse poster and shoppers.

Tired.Unhappy , good to hear they didn't hold off tickets. I'm mighty surprised, like vspirit said, Muse are not one of those 'commercially popular' band here. *sigh...

In one of the things that happen today, I sms a few friend and told them about Muse concert in KL. Then in one of the reply, "Muse? The rapper? Didn't know you're into hip hop" Imagine my horror when I read that! She confused it with 'Maze'! It was funny and insulting at the same time.

Btw I tucked my ticket safely in one of my favorite book. Just so that I wont lose it.
I know, I'm a geek.

oh hey, this is my first post like many others!

no no no, that wasnt me, i bought the magazine after i bought the tickets, but i also did saw someone readin some mag outside kfc, and they were seating there, while reading, and i thought i did saw someone holdin a literature book a bit in front of me, in front of a baking shop where theres a bit of gap there, and it could be anyone from this board...anyway i bought the magazine at times square where theres a magazine shop rite in front of the monorail station....

ah, your dad said no after all, deb? i guess if it weren't for the malaysian show your dad might still have allowed you to go...now he sees no point in it huh? or was it due to something else altogether? wish you every success of selling it off =). and i most certainly will not be the only m'sian there. our world isn't /that/ small despite what we think ^_~.

..and I was told off to go to the back of the queue..by fans, not the staff or the security, I didn't know the queue was way at the back coz nobody told us/direct us, and that sucks..
 i certainly hope that wasn't me. i remember /politely/ informing a few people that MUSE's queue starts way at the back while LeeHom's can be gotten right off the bat where the booth is without queueing but i defo don't remember telling anyone off cos while i was a little miffed (tho i swear i maintained a polite demeanor!!!) at first, i did realize later that the crowd of people there for that MyFM thingy kinda threw people off...that and the generally shoddy handling of things. either way, i'm sorry you got told off when you were merely confused. but at least you know now that the MUSE fans here are nothing if not dedicated. we snap at the slightest thing that threatens our one chance of seeing the band live for ourselves. xxD

oh dear, that's a right shame, especially after all you've been put through. guess not everyone's day ended on a high note. but don't fret cos i don't think it's quite sold out yet so like you said, you could probably just get it off the organizers themselves. that, or you could check here (http://www.galaxy.com.my/projects/muse2007/outlet.htm) to see where else you can get them evasive tix. i heard record stores like tower records and rock corner might carry 'em as well but don't quote me on that.

It happens. *nods sagely* it's part of the appeal, actually, they being underdogs despite their seemingly larger than life success. well at least you know they're genuine and not all hyped up by the media. tho i dunno who this Maze is (if he/she is hyped like most rappers tend to be, then i prolly won't know cos i don't really follow the general coming and going the media, tho some still managed to leak into me, like that 20cents whatshisface--or was that 50?--there must be a prisoner appeal thing going on these days...and speaking of rappers, guys like coolio are the only ones for me. whatever happened to them? cos what they made are what i'd still consider as being in the realm of music...)...

Btw I tucked my ticket safely in one of my favorite book. Just so that I wont lose it.

that sounds almost...sweet. =) now just don't forget where you've put it. ^_~

To all those who still haven't got tickets, I have 4 extra tickets for sale. They are all Free Standing Rock Zone tickets priced at RM110 each.

These tickets were initially for friends but they are dilly dallying on whether to go to the concert or not (they're nuts to even ponder), so I thought it'd be fair to give up the tickets to those who really want to go instead. Drop me an email at kruel.muse@gmail.com with at least your name (or more) and give me a good reason why you want the tickets. I'll only sell it to those who are worthy :D Be creative and surprise me.

Oh and rock on to all those who lined up for the tickets! Response was awesome and the healthy crowd is a great indication that the concert is going to be whack fantastic! MUSE!

yeah i really agree with u as it happens to me.we all know and love muse by our heart and we dont care if other people doesnt like it,being a muse fan for quite a few years me myself had just realize that i've spread the love of muse to quite a few people who seems to appreciate good music while those who were pessimist will try to convince me that other mainstream band like MCR or blablabla were far more better than muse...it doesnt bother me and i am very proud f being muse fan no matte what happens and that explain why vspirit said that we muse fan prefer to enjoy it quietly...:)

hey guys. tot i'd share something. this is one of the best amvs i've ever had the fortune to come across. and i'm not saying that just cos the creator used a Muse song. i've seen other amvs/fmvs using Muse songs which aren't as good. it's just that the whole thing...fits. Music, scenes, cuts, edit. Well I could talk all day long and it still won't be as effective as seeing it for yourself so here, bear witness to it yourself (http://youtube.com/watch?v=20qrUiWJryc).
