And who are these people on this board who doesn't know Muses back catalogue? I have hardy ever seen one. I'm actually surprised how many of the new fans are already getting into songs like CE, Sunburn and Cave.

So I am I. Yet there is still a distinct majority on this board, and Muselive, whom only know the more recent tracks - such as Uprising, Neutron Star Collision, Resistance and Undisclosed Desires. There is also a distinct majority of people on this board who found Muse through Twilight. Not that I am condoning that, in fact I think it's absolutely marvellous. Muse deserve to get as much recognition as they can. But it is these recent fans, and particularly Twilighters, who obviously have no interest in listening to anything other than the franchise's soundtrack. I'm sure that you have noticed that it is mostly the Musers who have known Muse for a few years whom actually vote for the older songs ( Muscle Museum, Cave, Bliss, Dead Star etc.) in the polls.

But fact is that songs like MM, Cave, Bliss, Dead Star etc still wins all the polls, which means that the majority likes them, and a lot of the "twilighters" around here does as well.Just go and have a look in the threads about favorite Muse songs, you will be surprised over how few(almost none) of them actually only choose the popular and new singles.

The people you are talking about is a very small minority among the posters.

From the albums, I'd say Fillip, Megalomania, Thoughts of a Dying atheist and Exo-politics... And they happen to be among my favourites :erm:
B-sides like Easily, Map of your head, Shrinking universe, Eternally missed... Muse have too many great songs...

A Citizen Erased99

Among each album they would be IMO:

Showbiz: Hate This and I'll Love You
Orgin of Symmetry: Dark Shines (I don't really think there is an underrated song on this album)
Absolution: Endlessly and Sing For Absolution (GREAT song)
Black Holes and Revelations: Hoodoo
The Resistance: Guiding Light (I think this has killer vocals, a GREAT freaking guitar and some great drums and bass as well, screw the cheese this is a great song)

And as for B-sides i'd say Glorious i there best but their most underrated would be Shine (both version but I especially love the acoustic version) or Hyper Chondriac Music

Hyperguy20

Spiral Static (Listening to it is like being lost in some crazy dream)
Endlessly
The Small Print (Live version @ Earls court especially)
Escape (Honestly one of the best song's Muse have ever made)

Hyper Music, it is one of the most overlooked tracks, not only in general but also on OoS, mainly because there are SO many quality tracks on that album.

It's my all time favourite Muse track and I've only ever heard it live ONCE! The thing that annoys me the most is that it was a SINGLE and it hasn't been performed live since 2003

The bassline ALONE makes it genius, it literally gives me butterflies everytime I hear it because it's just so incredibly powerful and raw, I think if I ever heard it again live I fear for whoever is sitting in front of me because he'll have a rather moist head for the rest of the evening :yesey:

City Of Delusion, Hate This & I'll Love You, Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist, Hyper Music, to name one from all the albums but The Resistance.

As in, not talked about a huge amount here and was never played live much at all.

Endlessly gets a bit of a raw deal. Everyone puts it near the bottom of Absolution and rightly so, but one can't help but think that's a little unjust given it is a very good song.

Personally I have FAWY near the top of Absolution. IMO [Endlessly]'s sandwhiched in between two tracks which are IMO considerably weaker (TSP, Atheist) than the norm on Absolution. IMO, ofc.

I like FAWY, but it's probably one of the most skipped Muse songs there is for me. Doesn't help I tend to forget it exists. I agree it's better than TSP and TOADA.

Dead Star isn't on an album because there wasn't any album to put it on at the time. It was released as a single between OoS and Abso.

Futurism is on the Japanese release, but not on the "ordinary" one, because it was too hard to play live, among other things I would guess.

And the rest....well, most of them are on Hullabaloo, and Muse can't just release 20 song albums, some songs HAS to go.

IMO most of The Resistance is under rated by the fans, as said by above comments, but songs like Uprising, UD and Resistance are actually really good, and i also think this about BH&R, songs like SMBH, Starlight and Invincible, they're good songs, but because they're not "rock" they seems to be a bit overlooked  but i also think Hyper Music, The Small Print, Map of Your Head and even Soldier's Poem.

From the poll, I would put Exo-politics... (I have no clue why Bliss is up there lol)

But there are a lot of songs that I think are underrated, especially the new album in general... Is it weird for me to love all of those songs?

On the other albums though, I think Cave is really underrated, Falling Down, City of Delusion definitely, not sure how most feel about Hoodoo, but I think it deserves more. Can I say Easily, The Groove, and Futurism too even though they're Bsides? xD

I really like The Smallprint too, and its sad to see so many people think its plain, but sometimes plain can rock out lol xD

Easily is kind of underrated as well!

Oh, I was strictly speaking this thread ;) never mind. Anyway kev's orders.

I think Matt's explicit version of Feeling Good where he said something along the lines of 'fucking fucking fucking little fuckery fucker, you know what I mean' is pretty underrated.

I definitely agree with people saying Falling Down is underrated. Such a shame really - that bluesy riff, the vocals. It's just so smooth! :)

This version, in particular, is just great: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BScbNsNjHL8

HTAILY is good (though I haven't listened to it in a while, probably should do that again soon), however I will say that it is probably their worst closer by a pretty wide margin.

Indeed. Megalomania, however, is underrated and their best closer by a pretty wide margin. Even though it feels odd after Feeling Good.

:yesey: I agree with all of that. Megalomania is my favourite song <3

For underrated I'd say Ruled By Secrecy. It seems that people either love it or hate it, there's no middle ground.
The album version is pretty amazing, but live versions of it are phenomenal. I really can't see how people don't like it

Still struggling with the actual singing though ( :$ ) - music wise I'm there, so I really like this instrumental version.

I agree, I love the chord progression in Endlessly, and it's definitely one of their better slower songs. It's a bit of a departure too, it has a bit of a 'club' feel.
