Ahhhh let's see.
Shine and Shine Acoustic are the two most beautifully lyricized (if that's a word) songs Muse have ever written. Wow.
Sober! Listening to it right now. :D
Hate This And I'll Love You is just chilling.
Escape is such a powerful song... way underrated.
Megalomania is just too awesome, if not scary as crap.
Screenager as well...
Ruled by Secrecy is far, far underrated.
And, of course, Hoodoo. Talk about chilling and powerful songs there.

Invincible. Its a fab song that for some reason everybody hates.
Easily. Another song that is not receiving the recognition it should be.
S4A. You have no idea how disappointed I am about the members of this board disliking this masterpiece of a song.
Apocalypse Please. The only song in the world that sounds heavy, put instead of the heaviness being in the form of power chords, its in the form of a piano. Yet, it isnt receiving much love.
Space Dementia. The Muse song with the best ending EVER and it isnt appreciated much.
In Your World. Better than Dead Star and yet, it dwells sadly in DS's shadow.:(

I agree with what everyone has said so far, but I have to put another voice in for The Groove specifically. Bad-ass song.
Also, I have to add some votes for Space Dementia, Ruled by Secrecy, Sing for Absolution, Fillip up there, and Invincible. And In Your World is better than Dead Star for sure.

But will they stay in the setlist next tour though?:(
Doesnt look like it since they booted out Bliss out of this year's setlist for at least 70% of the shows.
Gosh, I especially love Apocalypse Please to death. I hope Matt substitutes Feeling Good and Sunburn with Space Dementia and Apocalypse Please respectively. Aint gonna happen. NEVER gonna happen, no. :'(
Its not that I have anything against Feeling Good and Sunburn. They're up there among my favourites but having heard them live twice, I feel that Apocalypse Please would bring about a more intense atmosphere. I have not heard Space Dementia live and I probably never will but the Hullabaloo version and the EC20 bootleg of SD live really gets my heart pumping FAST.
In addition, Space Dementia and Apocalypse Please have the two best endings ever. SD with the distorted bass and the crazy piano, AP with the oh-so-dramatic piano solo outro. Probably my favourite parts of any Muse song, rivalling New Born's solo and Bliss' synth.

Sing for Absolution
Lips are turning blue
A kiss that cant renew
I only dream of you
My beautiful
Tiptoe to your moon
A starlight in the gloom
I only dream of you
And you never knew
Sing for Absolution
I will be singing
And falling
From your grace
There's nowhere left to hide
In no one to confide
The truth runs deep inside
And will never die
Lips are turning blue
A kiss that cant renew
I only dream of you
My beautiful
Sing for Absolution
I will be singing
And falling
From your grace
Our wrongs remain unrectified
And our souls wont be exhumed
The ones in bold especially the last two lines are pure genious. The title in iteslf is genious actually. Sing for Absolution, no one would make that connection. Its so haunting yet brilliant.

What is, in your opinion, the most underrated Muse song? For example, the song that they never perform live, or the song that should have been released as a single but never was, or the b-side that should have been an album track.
I would have to say 'Hate This & I'll Love You'. I personally prefer this to 'Unintended' and I've hardly ever seen them perform it live. Plus, it is probably the best epic on Showbiz.
Anyone else?
the groove and/or fury aren't really underrated, they're just underexposed as far as i'm concerned. most of the people who've heard them, it seems, really dig them (deservedly so).
personally my nods for most underrated go to Megalomania and Endlessly, as most all muse fans have heard them, but rarely seem to talk about them

Hearing it live doesn't change anything on the album-version now, does it? Never ever bring age into discussion. Ad hominem is a lousy rhetoric way to converse. Actually I think he has a point about Escape. It's probably one of my least favourite songs on Showbiz. It's cool live though.
Shine's build-up and overall rawness is awesome, and the thunder in the acoustic version. <33

As a huge fan of that Muse album in particular, that's the worst song on it :\ Lyrics are pretty interesting though.
My pick for most under-rated would have to be between Falling Down or Hate This & I'll Love You.

Screenager is awesome. It wouldn't be commercial success if released as a single but who cares... I imagine they would have done a cool video for it. And they should play it live more often. Piano or guitar version, both are great :)
Recess and Shrinking Universe could have been album tracks. Two of my favourite songs.
The Gallery is also good. I have to listen to Hullabaloo now.
yea, hey, shrinking universe is also micro cuts which actually is on an album so yayyy :D
and as for my answerrr.... hmm... eternally missed (looooove the lyrics!!), futurism is AWESOME, annnnnddddd i LOVE knights of cydonia and sunburn, but i think they get sufficient attention, just thought id point it out that i love those songs

Eternally Missed, Screenager, Megalomania, Shine Acoustic, Invincible and City of Delusion
EM I think SHOULD of been on Absolution :( Don't get why cause it could of easily stood on it's own as a single. Screenager never seems to get a mention anywhere dispite the fact it's one of Muse's most atmospheric and beautiful songs to listen to - same goes for Shine Acoustic. Megalomania was just unbelivably powerful and awesome to listen to I soooo want Matt to use a church organ again in another song cause of that. Invincible I just don't get the hate towards.. It's a great song and I don't really find it boring at all and of course the solo at the end is just epic. CoD just don't get why it's not played more cause it's a really good song.
Invincible I just don't get the hate towards.. It's a great song and I don't really find it boring at all and of course the solo at the end is just epic..
You are wrong.
It's five minutes of Muse replicating Everybody's Changing by Keane albeit with a pretty crappy and showy solo towards the end.

Hmm I can actually see the similarities now, your right they are similar until like the last 1:40
Still like it though - better version of Everybodys Changing
Eternally Missed, Screenager, Megalomania, Shine Acoustic, Invincible and City of Delusion
Screenager I agree but I prefer the piano version than the one on the album. EM should have been on Absolution, the same way Easily should have been on BH&R (could have replaced Starlight... sorry Starlight no offense, it's just down to personal taste) CoD is an epic song but I'm biased on that one. ;)
I think Con-science is hugely underrated as a lot of people dismiss it because for the majority of the song it's just Matt with 4 piano notes and the end is just a build up of distorted sounds... but I found it the most emotional, gut-wrenching song ever. It gets me every time I listen to it.

Yeah I kinda agree really I can see why not cause theres nothing to break it up, but then if you break up the first half you ruin the whole concept of the song so I guess it's envitiably overlooked.
Prooves quite well though some of the most simple things can be incredible.

CoD and Hoodoo are 2 of my 3 fav songs on BHAR. I love playing them really loud in my car and sing along... especially:
CoD: "I will avenge / and justify my reasons with your blood"

DAMN FUCKING STRAIGHT!!!! personally it is my all time favorite muse song, and i would love to see it live!
I think another underrated one is Cave, i know quite a few people who are huge muse fans who say it's their favorite....i don't think it gets enough credit, it is crazy and absolutely beautiful....gah!
But my favorite from the album is Overdue, which obviously no one ever talks about....but the album version and the long EP version both fucking rock!
YEAH! Why doesn't anyone seem to appreciate the genius of Cave? Especially with the guitar solo over that beautiful piano at the end!!!

I also think Starlight gets slagged on a bit too much because of how annoying the people who adore it tend to be.
Its actually got a pretty cool oddly downbeat melody to it, between the thrumming pounding bass line and the pleading grasping vocals.
I think TIRO is much more dire, really.

"Falling away with You", "City of Delusion", and "The Groove"...
Even song such as "Citizens Erased" seem to not get that much love, course i might be looking in all the wrong places.

^^^ Can't believe you think Citizen Erased is overrated!!
For b-sides i'd say Eternally Missed, Easily & The Groove for most underrated songs.
Of album tracks i'd say Ruled By Secrecy, Screenager or Hoodoo.
Hyper Chondriac Music deserves a mention there too.

The Groove: an awesome piece of riffage for your musical ruffage
Twin: LOUD chorus, early muse
Forced In: Just a really chillingly atmospheric vibe

Hyperchondriac Music (beautiful, sad and haunting melody) and Showbiz(great bass line and the song slowly speeds up and builds up to an awesome climax)

Escape, The Groove, Yes Please, Dead Star.
There's a few live versions of these from 1999 and 2000, but I'd like to see them played live more now days. Also Dead Star is awesome live. I don't know why it's not on most of their set lists.
Apocalypse plz

What is, in your opinion, the most underrated Muse song? For example, the song that they never perform live, or the song that should have been released as a single but never was, or the b-side that should have been an album track.
I would have to say 'Hate This & I'll Love You'. I personally prefer this to 'Unintended' and I've hardly ever seen them perform it live. Plus, it is probably the best epic on Showbiz.
Anyone else?
Hmmmmmmm, crying shame, endlessly, hate this and ill love you and ruled by secrecy.
