As true as all of that is, can't help but think Nintendo are heading down a slippery slope at the moment, this Wii business is a bit risky considering the Gamecube didn't reall sell that terrifically in the first place (unless I'm mistaken that is).

obviously these are all made up and are not what Nintendo are saying but it could be great for advertising, you can do almost anything with "Wii" *shrugs*

Wii arrives in Europe on December 8 for £179

Nintendo's next-gen console to launch in Europe for £179/249 euros on December 8, AU$399.95 for the Aussies on December 7.

As for accessories, Wii owners will be able to buy extra remotes for £29 (39 euros), a nunchuck for £14 (19 euros), and the classic controller for £14 (19 euros).

It's onlsale with a game at 179.99 if it gets any cheaper on launch the world would implode, ill be buying one at launch fo sure. Compared to my xbox360, which i waited a year for and stillcost me 300quid pfft.

I've always seen Nintendo as the arcade company and Sony as the more Sim type.

Is the Wii HD?Nope. It allows Nintendo to keep the costs down and HD is pretty much a buzzword anyway. It's a one-way ticket to Uncanny Valley. Suffice to say that, if you want to be nitpicky about graphics, it is better than the Gamecube, but it'll have less sheen than the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. If you think back to N64 against PlayStation, the latter had the better graphics, but the N64 could do physics better and generally ran at a better frame rate. From what I've been reading it could turn out to be similar with Wii. The stuff inside the Wii is more geared to processing physics and simplistic effects smoothly than producing over the top stuff.

Look up videos of Super Mario Galaxy, that's probably the best example for graphics on the Wii.

Also, there will be a version of Gran Torismo coming out for Wii...and it'll actually come with tracks, unlike the PS3 version where you buy a game with hardly any cars and tracks and then have to buy tracks and cars etc. with real money to use them ingame. There are a few shootem ups coming out, none of them look -that- inspiring, that I've seen, apart from Metroid.

well in england it will be christmas number 1 and shall be very hard to get...unless nintendo have produced enough for the demand which is very unlikely.
i hope this doesnt happen but im guessing that all the pre orders will make the wii sold out in england and they'll get a limited amount for christmas which will be another pre order thing if you didnt get one the first time. so if you want to get a wii off the shelf like any respected person you'll probably have to wait till next year.

So has anyone got and played one yet? I'm kinda worried about using the controllers in my room. It's not exactly big and there is now way near enough room for me to be standing up while playing unless I want to be towering above my television. I haven't got one yet but I've been over to my friends who has. You don't have to always be standing and swinging around to play the games (Although I find it more enjoyable especially in boxing) and we were roughly 1.5-2m away from the tv when playing.

It's not exactly big and there is now way near enough room for me to be standing up while playing unless I want to be towering above my television. Woop, I ordered my Wii bundle on the GAME site yesterday. Sure, I've left it pretty late, and the online system probably isn't as guaranteed as the in-store one, but I'm not in a rush. I don't really have a decent TV to be aplayin' it on at the moment anyway, but come xmas I should be getting a nifty LCD type thing.

I have to agree the "revolution" name suited the machine better but well I'm accustomed to the Wii name now :p (in French "oui" means "yes" so great jokes to make here too :p)

About the distance, don't forget u can still play the Nintendo Wii with a "normal" wired controller too :happy:

In Revolution it was of a riot, Police walls and water cannons. In the Wii half it was of someone on a Roller Coaster going "wheeeeeee!"

I have been following the Wii since i was first shown at E3 in 2005 and i love it, the controller looks amazing and i cant believe its only 3 and a bit days untill i can play on mine (getting twilight princess, red steal and hopefully wii play)
