Is just great! And I don't mean the Americamamized version. :indiff:
It's just hilarious. So smart and funny. And very unconventional in the way it jumps back and forth in time, or telling the story form several different directions. It so much surpasses Friends, really out of its league.

I think there was a Coupling thread at one point. The guy they got to replace the legend that was Jeff just wasn't as good.

Series 4 was a bit of a let down when Jeff didn't come back but Oliver was a decent character though. The one where they are at the anti-natal class cracks me up. :LOL:

ah I never saw the American version, probably a good thing though!
It was filmed in Teddington which is near me and I managed to get tickets to see what is looking like it will have been the last ever episode being filmed.

oooooh... I've just watched the Israeli chick episode ("Teh Girl with 2 breasts"?) and it was sooo funny. She does have an Israeli look, and both her accents were quite convincing... It still seemed a bit off, though. Maybe it was her text, maybe her bad acting, something just seemed a bit "funny" about the whole thing...
How did Hebrew sound to you? Did it sound like Arabic?

I think my favourite Coupling episode was The Man With Two Legs, where Jeff gets typically hyped up over a woman and ends up telling her that he only has one leg.

This is a monumental dig, but it's my favourite TV show ever so I think it's worthy.
My favourite episode would be Inferno, where Susan finds Steve's video and the topic comes up in conversation at a dinner party. It's a tiring episode to watch though, I usually laugh almost non-stop right through it.

Awesome show. I seem to only ome across the same few episodes over and over again, how many did thy make? I don't believe I've ever seen any without Jeff in it.
They did 4 seasons, a total of 28 episodes. (Yes I checked that on IMDB. I am not that much of a Coupling nerd).
Jeff wasn't in the 4th series, which had 6 episodes. I find one episode in that series, 'Night Lines', one of the funniest Coupling episodes, but the rest of them are a bit weaker than the first 3 seasons.

AH, I love Coupling. Such a genius show how they come up with some of the storylines.
I agree on series 4 being not so good, but the first episode was brilliant.

Ahhhh, the John Hurt moment.
Me n the mrs watched like 8 hours of this non-stop last night haha. Great stuff. Still haven't seen a single episode with Oliver in it yet though, kinda wanna see how that works.
It doesn't really. He had to be a new character in his own right and not a Jeff clone, but he still needed to fill the Jeff role in the guys' bar conversations. Not easy.
I think Oliver improves over the fourth series though, he's much better near the end of the series than in the first episode of it.
He was annoying as fuck during the first episode. :stunned: I agree that he has approved along the season.
I actually felt bad for Jeff missing the girly kiss during that episode. I think I cried a little :(

Would have been interesting in the 4th series if Jeff had stayed, I thought in the last episode of the 3rd series that something might be going to start between him and Jane. But it was not to be. :(

I adore this show so much, but I think it ended at the right time. Especially as it was designed to show the growth of a relationship from multiple perspectives. All there would be left to do is the marriage, maybe they could do a feature-length special on that, but Jeff wouldn't ever go back. As a serious stage actor it's probably not the sort of thing he wants to go back to...imagine having your audience shout "BUTTOCKS...GUSSET...BICYCLE SADDLE!" at you all the time :LOL:

I've been watching the second series for the first time in ages lately. There are some fantastic episodes there - I particularly love the first. "I've got the key to the gates of paradise, but I've got too many legs!"

yeah, that's the thing. It's beyond funny. I don't write comedy scripts for a living, but I just know the writing's perfect. It's a masterpiece.
