Based on their live performance, All My Life has to be at the top - I don't think I've witnessed a greater live performance.
Everlong, Monkey Wrench, Stacked Actors....ah the list could go on.

Not true. When i last saw them at Reading i was very dissapointed, He forgot to sing the chorus of each song and instead would shout "Ohhhh Yeaaaaah", it got very boring after the first 3 songs.

woop! new album!
The Foo Fighters are building a studio in Los Angeles to record their next RCA project, frontman Dave Grohl tells Billboard. The group recorded its past several albums in Grohl's basement in Virginia.
"I think it's going to be a two-record set," he says. "It's going to be 10 acoustic songs and then 10 tracks that are just koo-koo, really heavy." He adds that the Foos already have a lot of acoustic material that the band has never recorded."

My favourite album is defentiely 'the colour and the shape' by far. 'One by One' is also quite good, but their debut I'm not too sure about and I don't even mention the other album because that's just a joke album, really. All catchy songs, though.

the new album is pretty cheesy.
Tired of You is just shit, it builds up into nothing. Lonely As You is also rubbish, and my god, don't get me started on Over Drive and Burn Away. in my opinion, those are the 4 songs that should never have been put on, and Come Back is my favourite song on the album, the climax is very good.
7:51 of awesomeness.
other than this album, they've done nothing wrong, i love everything else, just those four songs really get on my tits, as they are awful.

I could not agreeing more .
Come Back is terrific, well a little bit repetitive but I lack the fact the song takes its time (well a long one) to reach to its climax beautifully .
Does anyone here knows if this song has ever been played live or not .
Also I would enjoy to hear more news about their new upcoming effort called "the white album"

All I know is what the rest of the board probably know:
Tis gonna be a double album, one side acoustic (apparently the most beautiful and trippy) and the other very much rock (apparently the craziest and rockiest).
A contrast. A very nice one. CAN'T WAIT!

This isn't their last album (that is, no one said it will be). If you're referring to the DVD: at one point, during the recording of One By One, they had a really hard time. Back then they thought that maybe One By One would be the last Foo Fighters-album. But they managed to get through the shit and started to rock as hard as they could!

It's my full intention to throw a bottle at Grohl if I bother to see them at Reading and they crucify it again. He should know better!
Plus Taylor is a shit lead singer/guitarist. And Dave plays a really boring drum beat during that song. So when they swap over it smacks of pointlessness.

YEAH IT RULES!
Anyway, I think In Your Honor is the worst thing they have done so far. There is not one song on that album that stands out. Free Me and In Your Honor are the only ones I can replay in my head. That's not good at all!
The Colour And The Shape and Nothing Left To Loose are very good albums. The songs on those are good on their own AND make up a good album together.
One By One was my least favorite Fighters album.......'till In Your Honor came along. One thing though: some of the songs of IYH are great to hear live!
Still can't beat the Foos on live-performances!!!
I agree. I think There is nothing Left To lose had some cracking tunes on it, and considering it was following The Colour and A Shape it was a fucking top record.
I liked All My Life at the time, but there wasn't much on the album that did anything for me. It's like they're all reasonable rock songs and perfectly erm...acceptable, but nothing special if you get me? The new record is the same, i mean some of the songs just seem to go nowhere!
I like No Way Back though, and i thik your right about the live thing, the songs sound more at home there and they are a formiddable live force.

I'm usually all for personal taste and such, but I think no Foos-lover in their right mind can actually love In your honor, it completely destroys the uniqueness of the foo-sound.

I am not a big Foo-fighter fan. And to tell the truth the only facter that made me buy IYH was the collaboration with a certian singer on their acoustic cd. All their rock songs seem to be the same. That is the problem i have with this album. The same rock sound recreated over and over again with different lyrics. Which are basically the same lyrics just shuffled round a bit.
The Acoustic cd is a lot more interresting. I say this because with a sound that is not so heavy and not so stereotypicaly rock they are able to experiment a bit more. With lyrics. With Backing vocals with guitar, Piano, Drums. It is just a lot more interesting and not so strenous on the ears.
Going back to the rock part of the album. On a few of the songs they do try to make a different sound. They do experiment a bit. And to be quite honest their rock songs are good for getting you fired up. But other then that it is just uninspireing and unoriginal.

Not sure how to describe them. They are I suppose like a lighter version of QOTSA and a bit sillier. Download "I Only Want You" for an idea.

I never understand why they start selling them if they don't have them "in stock"... they might as well just push back the onsale date or get organised better instead of wanting money in their pocket quicker without any obligation to provide anything straight away 8-)... oh well... i can wait, i guess... they're bastards for charging special postage on 3 pieces of paper thogh.

Just thought I’d see what you guys think
In Your Honor
All My Life
My Hero
Best of You
Up In Arms
Learn To Fly
The One
Times Like These
Stacked Actors
DOA
This Is A Call
I'll Stick Around
Cold Day In The Sun
Everlong
Breakout
Monkey Wrench
only 2 things I’m not too happy about
1. no "Aurora"
that's such a beautiful song
2. if they're only going to do one song from the acoustic part of In Your Honour, I think they've made the wrong choice of making that song "Cold Day in the Sun"
there are much better songs on the acoustic album, such as "What If I Do?" "Razor" "Friend of a Friend" and "On the Mend"

People on the foos messageboard blame the set list down to them co headlining with Weezer on their american tour and not having enough time to play more songs. Hopefully their right.
As for cold day in the sun, personally I think thats the best one off the accoustic cd, however, the reason they play it is so taylor hawkins gets a bit of the limelight from being stuck behind the drums all evening. So taylor sings and plays guitar and dave drums. So i hear.

Not sure if more are to be added, as for the ones listed, I read it off another forum(very reliable place) think they are unofficially confirmed.
I wont be going as I couldnt be arsed travelling over, but I'd love to see yeah etc, the subways and qotsa, not bothered about the foos(saw em before, that'll do me) and motorhead are a bit blegh

I'd quite like to go to this. I'm not a particularly big fan of the foos recent stuff, but they did put on a really good show at Reading. QOTSA are fucking brilliant live and I'd love to see Motorhead.
Typically my mates appear to be too skint to come.

But this section is about bands, not gigs. If you wanna talk about the gig go into their thread and talk about it. Or run into gigs and tours and pretend its not a Muse area.

I'm going. I got a Gold ticket last Wednesday, thanks to someone posting the presale link on the Rekords Rekords/QOTSA board.
I wasn't going to go just for the Foos, but changed my mind when QOTSA were added. As usual I'm going on my own as friends aren't interested.

I really shouldn't spend any time on any other message boards though. I have other things to do...but...just waste my time on here. Two boards would be even worse:(

I joined the foo board because my best mate loves the foos and she wouldn't stop going on at me about it.
Hardly ever go on, I spend most of my time whiling away the hours on here.
I am going...with eleven mates. The line-up kicks arse. Foos are awesome, Queens are awesome, Motorhead will be surreal and the Subways...have a good-looking bassist. They are good though in my serious opinion.
Hey, how bad is the outer circle? How far is it from the stage?
What are the chances of sneaking into the inner circle? :ninja:

The outer circle thingy is about 100-150m from the stage i think, and im not sure if youde be able to sneak in, as ive only ever been in the INNER CIRCLE

The outer circle isn't bad at all. Obviously you're quite a distance away and the band members are like little beans, but the stage set up for these things is often rather impressive, so you'll have a nice light show to watch. And the atmosphere was awesome the two times I've been in the outer circle (RHCP and Live 8), and great sound. I've never been in the inner circle, but from experience it is worth it in the outer.
I honestly doubt you'll be able to sneak in. Not that I've ever attempted it, in fact I haven't gone that near the barrier to see, but I just imagine the security will be pretty good.
:( 100m? "Little beans"? I want a full-size Josh, damnit! :(

I'll throw in a book to our trade-off? :(
Seriously, what are the physical obstacles facing a guy who wants to get from the outer to the inner circle? Is it just a fence? A moat with man-eating piranhas?

Yup.
There are barriers like the ones that are usually at the front of gigs and lots of lovely steward security type people.
The only problem with Hyde Park is that you need to be careful about where you satnd as in some places the sound quality is better than others.
The annoying thing about the inner circle is that it is never full up and there is a mass of space between the people in the inner circle and the beginning of the outer circle.
I guess that helps to stop people jumping over as easily.

In the NME apparently the Subways aren't even confirmed? Where did people get the news about Subways from?
Angels & Airwaves, Tom Delonge's new band, are now confirmed and The Subways are now officially confirmed.
This gig will kick arse.

Yeah, but Josh Homme.
Haven't heard Tom Delonges new band, but his voice is shit.
The other members of Blink 182 formed another band, but with a girl instead of the whino singer of a Delonge.
They're shit too.

Most of my friends were into Blink 182 so they will enjoy it more than me. The Subways I am looking forward to.

I'm really hoping I can get a good skinny fit QOTSA T-Shirt. More bands need to realise that women wear T Shirts too.

I need a QOTSA t-shirt...my friend that went to reading last year keeps showing me wheer it says "Queens of the Stoneage" and "Pixies" on his t-shirt:indiff:
I only wear t-shirts with a logo if they're a band that I adore. Otherwise I just stick to plain colours...
