:) that was a great encore.....Roger Taylor is Queen's drummer....
I can't believe Radio One only had an hour slot for them.....even though they played about an hour and 20 or so....that's ridiculous for a headliner....and one of their calibre :stunned:
Still.....great set....Bridge Burning...Rope and White Limo slotted into the set perfectly

I was wondering if they were going to play the whole album at a festival. That would have been weird!
I'm going to see them on Tuesday. It'll be the first stop on the US tour, so I'm pretty excited. I haven't seen them in 3 years, unless you count one song at an MTV awards show. :p I'll be taking photos too, so I'll share them when they're published. :)

I can't stop listening to the new album. Love it so much.
I wish they would announce a date in France. The only one that's scheduled is Rock en Seine festival, but I'll be seeing Muse in Leeds that day. And I doubt I'll have enough money for transportation to and accomodation in Milton Keynes. I need some Dave Grohl lovin'. :supersad:

From what I remember they said they wanted to get the festivals and stadium out of the way first and then they'll do a propre tour so I would expect dates for that towards the end of this year or beginning of the next.

Yes, please. :supersad:
On their last tour, they only did one date in France so I was getting worried they wouldn't come back after Rock en Seine. Mind you, France doesn't seem to love FF that much. When it got released, their latest album reached n°1 in charts everywhere except in France. :indiff:

Most of them were on the regular stage, but a few songs and then the majority of the encore was on the platform.

Saw them live about 2 weeks ago. If they aren't one of the best live bands around nowadays then I'll be damned. They played like a 24 song set, for a headliner! Plus, they didn't even want to do an encore because it 'just wasted playing time' :awesome:
But yeah, it was fucking cold but once they came on, no one cared. Dave is the best, I just adore how he doesn't take anything seriously and he cares a shitload about the music. They all wore plaid because they were in Washington . Best songs of the night go to All My Life, Walk, and White Limo IMO. 2nd time seeing them and they are still fucking kickass

Time for a rant:
Firstly, how can a 3 day festival be covered by approx 6 hours of tv? Who wants to see shite bands for one & a half hours when there are amazing headliners? Secondly, I can't believe how SKY promoted this event on SKY HD & SKY 3D when all they showed was one song from Foo Fighters in 3D. They then advised viewers to switch to SKy Arts to watch the rest of the 25 mins or so in standard or HD broadcast. WTF!!! If I had paid for a
3D Tv & SKy 3D I would be asking for a refund. FFS Andrea Corr is so thin she can only be 2 dimensional!!!! :p
I am unfortunate to only have a standard def tv atmo & watching Iggy Pop in standard def & seeing every wrinkle on his torso is sickening enough. I can only imagine what he looked like in HD or 3D !!!!!!!!

I don't know who would buy a 3D TV - I tried one in a shop recently and it was so shit.
Some of the bands on in the meantime were ok (they didn't show Pulp though - big letdown). Overall I found the coverage better than ITV and Channel 4 normally do at festivals, mind.

And its still better than ITV and Channel 4, who spaff even more during their interviews and follow up one song with an ad break. Although its still not a patch on BBC coverage, and uses too short a timeblock to show stuff.

Their own gig setlists have been epic recently and they've been doing Queen's Tie Your Mother Down a lot: I would actually cry if I saw them and they played that.
I've was really hopping for the Shake Your Blood or Ace Of Spades cover with Lemmy/Phil Cambell, alas Motorhead are playing their own show in France that weekend :(

Took us about 5 minutes to get out of the car park. We were really, really lucky with parking though, we were in a tiny little field near an ice cream van just over the bridge, next to a fuck-off massive field, which looked absolutely jammed full...And the bit we were in was just near the exit, so we got out basically straight away

I like going these kind of gigs because it's a whole day thing but I dunno...this time I was just thinking of the trip home most of the evening. We were pretty much standing at the side of the stage during everlong and as soon as that finished we left. We were with someone on crutches as well so the walk back to the station took longer. I actually nearly died and think I have concussion now but it was SO worth it. Absolutely amazing. Total legends, all of them! Dave is the greatest frontman - such a badass gentleman, if that makes sense?! ;)
Oh, and I agree that Taylor blows all other current drummers away, he was mind-blowing the other night.
(I attached a photo I took of Dave being rather Godlike :) )

I actually hate the people that are there! I'm a massive Queen freak and was hoping and hoping that they would play Tie Your Mother Down at Oxegen; they did and I was ecstatic, but to see it with Brian and Roger...?! GAH!

Don't forget Lemi from Motorhead coming on too! :D Amazing gig! Best bits either Dave kicking those dicks out and during Stacked Actors, running around the outside of the standing, climbing on the bar and doing solos  And I touched him twice and subsequently came! :awesome:

Taking a leaf out of the Josh Homme book of dealing with assholes in the crowd .
such a fucking incredible gig. We had Vip seating but we managed to trade them for pit standing and we were in the pit pretty much the whole gig.

We were sat in the aftershow, about 5 minutes till kicking out time feeling a bit shit, as we had 4 hours to wait in london at night. it was pretty much dead and he just wandered over and said "Hi guys, I'm Dave"
All four of us were speechless, he shook our hands, he had a quick chat, posed for some photos, and then apologised, saying he had to go as he was missing valuable drinking time. it was just so surreal.
