the Rock City gig last night was off the scale! Jimmy was on top form!
He got of the stage, went through the crowd to the bar, got a drink and went back again, he scrounged a £20 note of someone and said 'tonight we eat bangers and mash' and didn't give the person their money back!
Lynz did a high dive off the speakers
Honestly, if last night is anything to go by, its going to be undescribably good! I hope there are no problems on the M1 later when we set off for night 2 of our 'MSI Roadtrip'
I hope all of you have fun

they were a bit :stunned: at Leeds. I think they suffered from bad sound technical type problems. Out of the 5 times I've seen them it was the worst one. I wish I knew why.... I was disappointed by the set, not the setlist if that makes sense, plus they didn't get anyone out to sing Faggot which was disappointing.
Yes, I seem to remember Jimmy drinking something during the set, at Nottingham he climbed down of the stage and went to the bar!
He didn't sign the Radio 1 banner near us, must have been the one at the other side.

I still aim for the barrier at nearly every gig I go to. One of my proudest moments is doing a sprint and kind of leap frogging the barrier half way down Manchester Apollo and getting yelled at by the Security guards when I was 35
I'm gutted I don't get to go to see them on the Kerrang tour, they put a 14+ on the age thing and my daughter is 12 and the last time I went to see them without her she made my life such a misery! You going to the Kerrang tour?

Haha wow
Aww that sucks :( If your daughter looks abit older than she is then she could get in. None of the gigs I've been too have ever asked for ID, and some of them have been 16+
But I guess it all depends on the venue and how tight their security is. :(
And nope I'm not, I've decided that seeing MSI twice is enough for me

Lyn-Z and Steves wife are pregnant  awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww how cute <3
"As some of you may have heard, we are thrilled to announce TWO new additions to the Mindless Self Indulgence family. In addition to MSI's bassist LynZ and her husband Gerard, MSI's guitarist Steve and his partner Lucinda have announced that they are each expecting babies late in the spring of 2009. This will be the first child for both Steve and Lucinda, as well as LynZ and Gerard.
It is very important that you hear this from us first and believe nothing to the contrary: While we will ask some of our friends to fill in for LynZ - and at a later date, Steve - so that they can be with their new families, neither member is leaving Mindless Self Indulgence permanently.
No shows will be cancelled"

Has anybody seen them live? I'm pretty sure most of them don't play their instruments (except the lead singer). Every now and then I'll catch the guitarist playing some riffs or making noises. I know for a fact the drummer and bassist are on mute eternally. Is this something that MSI fans know about? I know it's just shock rock, but I'm curious.
See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGMFzvvsrpg (no bass and no real drums). I'm not bashing them or anything I like their music.
Saw them at Reading this year and they were all playing live for sure. They didn't sound as shit as they did in that video though.

Depends if you take them to seriously. Although live they're the most egotistical arrogant pricks I've ever seen. Seriously I can't fucking stand them live. So up their own arses. But music wise I find them quite entertaining, and their songs can provide lols.

I always kind of held them in the same regard as The Darkness, in that they're a joke band that don't seem to realise they're a joke.

Never wanted to dance also happens to be their best song of the album 'if'. Some real gems on it but even those are just fucking weird.
I'd say 'You'll rebel to anything' is the best album. It has most of their hits as well. Especially 'Shut me up' and 'Straight to video', similar quality to 'NWTD'.
And anything previous to that is either amateurish or just very alternative. You're better off downloading the older albums before you decide to buy anything of that.

I'm starting to think thta MSI have lost their cool completely now, they still do good music but they're just not as great live as they used to be - i was pretty disappointed with them at the Kerrang tour, i much preferred them back before the If days. Their Rebel tour was really good (and i'm not a fan of the album).

You would have heard a few greats song and most of the filler ones on the tour anyway.
I like the If album, i think MSI's sound is great and has improved since Tight but i think Frankenstein Girls will always be my favourite for I Hate Jimmy Pages, Bitches, Faggot and a couple of others.

It was pretty amazing. I was able to grab Steve's pick when he spit it at me, and I was asked to come on stage at the end of the show. It was my second time seeing them. I don't remember the full lineup, so most memorable songs:
Bitches
Tornado
Tight
Golden I
Dicks Are For My Friends
Planet of The Apes
Capital P
Cocaine and Toupees
Stupid MF
and others, gimme a minute to remember and I'll post the full lineup. It was pretty badass though.
The openers were decent, I didn't mind the first act but the second act, Hyro da Hero, was pretty awesome.
