Josh got Nick to sign a contract that Nick didn't read properly (presumably he trusted Josh then) that basically signed away his creative control within Queens. and so this gave Josh the power to get rid of anyone that he didn't want within the band. so he "sacked" Nick. according to Kerrang Nick didn't even get fired as such, Josh just told him he was out of the band.

Queens of the Stone Age will never be Queens of the Stone Age unless it has both Josh and Nick working on it. the first Queens album isn't as good as R or Deaf because it doesn't have that charisma that you get from Nick and Josh as a partnership.

it doesn't fit with the Queens ethics, it doesn't fit with the relationship between Josh and Nick. sorry, Josh, but you just don't do that to your friends.

From what I heard, Josh still plans to record and release another Queens album as scheduled. But then again, I'm not willing to believe anything I hear about all this, exept that Nick is no more... I've heard so many different versions of what happened and what will happen, so obviously, somebody has gotten it wrong... so yeah.. still sucks though.

Though I don't think it had anything to do with her.. I did like the Yoko Brody comment that was on the band's message board when some people believed that Nick leaving is cause of Brody... :D hehe

QOTSA used to live in my hometown in a nieghborhood full of hippy/druggie/partier type people on the east side. I don't know whether they actually started out in austin, or just decided to live there for a while.

1. "Stone Age" is two words, not one.
2. Mark Lanegan was not a guitarist, he sang occassionally on songs like "In The Fade", "Hangin' Tree", "Song for the Deaf" and "Song for the Dead"
3. The ex-Screaming Trees bass player Van Conner is not in Queens of the Stone Age, this was just a mistake picked up by people looking at the confusing structure of the QOTSA family tree on the old qotsa.com
4. Queens of the Stone Age is currently Josh Homme, Joey Castillo, Troy van Leeuwen... and someone else. I haven't been on the forum for a while. But I once was a QOTSA-forum nerd. Long ago.
5. It's sad to see them apart, all bands/compilations involving Josh and Nick were brilliant. I just wonder what the new QOTSA will sound like. Will Josh be the sole singer now? Only time will tell.
6. Simone, they're from Palm Desert in CA I believe (well, Kyuss are at least), so they must of just been holidaying or something...

josh said he kicked nick out because he was being all 'unrock-and-roll' (in joshs sence of the word) and getting them banned from performing and renting gear in certain cities, he was back on drugs and he was distancing himself from the band....

i absolutely love the band and am so sad that i cant see my favourite songs played live again, no one could or should ever try and sing any of mark or nicks songs, as that would just kill them....i am so glad that i got to see them perform all together before they split, one of the four times i saw them is even in my top ten concerts ever....i never got to meet nick either, so i hope hell be touring again in australia so i can have the pleasure....

We zeiden er dan ook bij dat het gerucht circuleerde dat de groep op 16 februari in de Paradiso in Amsterdam zou spelen, en da’s nu officieel bevestigd op de Nederlandse site van Ticketservice (onder 'Laatste nieuws')! Tickets kopen kan vanaf vrijdag of zaterdag, daar geeft de site nog geen uitsluitsel over.

the first songs weren't not good, the sound wasn't in the good balance and you couldn't here mark's voice (he joined at the stage!) good. After a few songs it were better and better.

the last row of songs included 'go with the flow' and 'no one knows' makes a large moshpit from the whole paradiso

and for the rest i like the songs that change so much from verse to chorus, such as everybody knoes and tnagled up in plaid. the music is then so different, yet it matches perfectly! and its quite original, i think
