I made a thread for him ages ago, but it has since disappeared.
Anyway, Sondre Lerche is a singer/songwriter from Norway. I think he's enormously talanted (I don't know many artists who wrote their first album while they were in high school) and more people need to hear him. His voice is simply gorgeous. He has two albums out to date (Faces Down and Two Way Monologue), both of which are fantastic.

I really like Two Way Monologue... Shame he's a Norseman.

Bump again, gosh darnit.
He just put out his fourth album Phantom Punch. It's lovely- quite a bit rockier than what he normally does and definitely the polar opposite of the jazz of Duper Sessions.
I'm seeing him in two months and I can't wait.

He's got one song up from each album. Listen- you'll love it, I promise!

BUMP because I saw him last night. He was solo (last time he'd been with his band), and he was just amazing. I've never known a single performer to be so captivating.
Also, for anyone who doesn't know, Sondre did all the music for the Steve Carell movie "Dan in Real Life." The soundtrack has new tracks by him, singles and instrumentals, as well as some older songs. He also makes an appearance at the end of the film with his band The Faces Down.
Shame this thread isn't bigger.

Sondre Lerche is a decent artist, I especially like Phantom Punch. I can't say Im a huge fan of his earlier works, even though he has some great songs.
He seems like an ok guy, I met him once.. :P

Just okay? :p
Last night there were a few girls acting quite ridiculous ("omg can I kiss you?!" Not sure how they made the over 18 requirement.), but he handled it very graciously.

Hehe, I didn't talk much to him. Just the basic stuff, hello, nice gig etc.
Seems like girls are always like that to him :P
It's great to see Norwegian artist playing their music all over the world though. He's quite famous here in Norway,
it seems like he never got the big breakthrough in any other country.

I'm just going to keep on bumping this thread and talking to myself. :p
I saw him in NYC two nights ago- best way to spend my 21st birthday that I could imagine- and at the risk of sounding redundant I'll say he was his usual amazing self. I'm seeing him again tonight.
But really, if anyone is interested in him, I can reccommend/send you some stuff. It truly is wonderful!

Fantastic artist, got his discgraphy last night. I had heard Two Way Monologue (the song) when it first came out, but I didn't really look much further. Since I was 10 and all

New album time!!! Okay, not until September 8th, but I'm excited nonetheless. He'll be touring the US in September and Europe in October.
You can listen to his new song and title track, "Heartbeat Radio" HERE (http://stereogum.com/archives/new-sondre-lerche-heartbeat-radio-stereogum-premie_075022.html?utm_source=ss&utm_medium=tw)!
I can't say enough about this song...I first heard it back in November when he played it live, and it seriously has not left my head since then. For comparison purposes, here is a video of the song my roommate took at said show:

(Sorry, she's a bit slow and forgot to hold the camera correctly for the first few seconds. I also apologize for my screaming.)

Oooooohhhh I didn't notice there was a thread about him!! I like this guy so much, since I heard To Be surprised on Dan In Real Life's OST <3 He's great, he composes very tasty melodies, I like him very much. It's a shame that here in Italy we don't sell his records, cause I think he'd sell a lot. And I'd be so happy to see him live, but I suppose i'll have to go abroad to make it happen. God knows when...anyway it's good to hear news finally, and the new song's good, even if I dont like it as I loved all the songs from Phantom Punch, that's a really great pop album.
He's very talented, can't wait to hear the new album, it's supposed to be awesome!

Sooo excited for Heartbeat Radio. The entire album has leaked, but I've still only listened to Heartbeat Radio, I Guess It's Gonna Rain Today, and Good Luck...but mm, been listening to them on repeat, so good.

I know- it's so hard waiting! But so far, I've been good. He's one of the few artists I will run out to the store for and buy an album the day it comes out. I absolutely cannot wait to hear the final version of Like Lazenby- the demo is AMAZING.
Also can't wait to see him next month.

So, I say this every time he puts out an album, but nonetheless, the new album is FANTASTIC. I cannot say enough about it. It's like a perfect synthesis of everything he's done up until now. I'm blown away.
My favorite track is probably "I Cannot Let You Go," though there isn't a single song I skip.
And, as always, his live shows are like a little slice of heaven.
