I didn't really like Take a Bow when I first heard it, but that was because I was in full Supermassive Black Hole musthearmusthearmusthear mode, so I guess I didn't sit back to appreciate it. But, it grew on me, and when I learnt it on bass, it ended up being my favourite song for a while...

Anywho, back to the topic at hand. Hmm... wasn't that great a fan of Megalomania either, but once again, it grows on you. Gah, I don't know.

------------------------------------------------->>>
By the way guys, obviously everyone has different tastes, and we have already assumed that you like quite a few Muse songs. So if someone says they don't like one of your favourite songs, please just let them be, and don't chuck a hissy/start talking about how they're a dork because they don't appreciate it like you do? Cheers, zombie

Screenager is beautiful man. My worst Muse song? Crying Shame. It's fucking shit I'd imagine it be something Green Day would do.

I bet you haven't heard it enough. Feeling Good breaks up the album more than any song, and every (Muse) album needs slow songs for live performances.

 I know how you can dislike Screenager, but to go as far as saying it is definitely Muse's worst song is like saying flowers are crap because you like bombs.

Why can't we all just agree that Intro is the worst and lock this negative thread? :(

We all know you love Screenager and I do too. I adore it. Its like that sometimes, a song that you really appreciate but most fans just refuse to look at the positive sides of things.

If I made the same argument as you but the song in question is INVINCIBLE, many would just dismiss my argument with words like "T'is Shite", followed by waves of people quoting it and ignorantly adding "+1" to the argument. You see what I mean?

The point of it all is, everybody has different tastes and those different tastes influence different views. As for the Intro line of argument, I totally agree.

Soldiers' poem ! I don't skip it on the album, but i never put on the album just to hear that song either!

Take a Bow.

That's what I'd say first off, anyway. Maybe if I listened to all of my Muse albums in a row, I'd say something different. But my first instinct is Take a Bow.

:'(

+1.

Take A Bow is quite possibly, the greatest musical feat Muse have pulled off, it's not quite in my favourite Muse songs but the fact they made it at all on an album that houses a song like Starlight as well, it just sounds so utterly immense.

I just wish they had opened BH&R with Knights and closed it with Take A Bow (with the cool 'du-du-du-du!') ending they do live rather than the feedback.

The majority of the B-sides
Exo
TOADA
About half of showbiz

So, basically agreeing with clunge's post! haha

TOADA is so crap!!!!

The songs that are good on showbiz are:

Sunburn
Muscle Museum
UNO
Unintended
Showbiz
Falling down
overdue

So basically the singles plus a few. The rest i skip all the time!:LOL:

Of course it counts. If it was released as the b-side to a single, then it is a b-side. It's a simple concept, really.

I don't get all the TOADA hate, it's a fab choon :(.

Probably my favourite Muse solo too.

Agreed. I think it's one of the best songs from Absolution.

But Recess is my favourite Muse solo, even though it's not really a solo.

I think Exo-Politics is definitely a strong contender for worst song, sure it's got the whole conspiracy element to it but on the whole it just seems a bit amateur.

Pink Ego Box is just completely abysmal, but quite amusingly mental I s'pose.

Yes, its a good song only the chorus though...

Worse...

KOC & SMBH remixes. I like SMD and a bit of DIOY but both were crap compared to the studio version.

I dislike Screenagers for disrupting the flow of OOS, I skip to Darkshines.

Does it at all imply that I actually like(d) Starlight?

I must admit, I did enjoy it at Wembley because of the clapping and atmosphere and I love the synthyness to it, but still as a song in the great list of Muse songs, it is right at the foot.

EDIT: to AP2.

"Even Starlight and Invincible, two songs I detested six months ago now sound fab, even more so after Wembley. Invincible was soooooo good, and the solo was so powerfully loud, it may be cheesy and almost out of character in the context of BH&R but it's a damn good anthem"

;)

Well I agree that Starlight is boring and dull but I can remember very clearly the day you rated the whole of BH&R, giving Starlight 7/10. Yes, before I officially joined this board, I enjoyed reading up the discussions. I particularly liked yours and Juuso's witty comments. So I can remember most of your posts.

First song I heard was Bliss, way back in 2001, when my uncle played it in his car. I loved it and placed in in my Mp3 player but I wasnt obsessed with Muse then.

A few years later, I heard Hysteria and Sing for Absolution from the same source. I loved them both, although not as much as Bliss. Placing them in my Mp3 player, I still did not care that much about Muse yet.

In May 2006, my uncle told me that Muse's new album was coming soon and I was like "Yeah, OK." A week or so later, Supermassive Black Hole was broadcasted on radio. Oh my, you guys had no idea how much I adored that song. I even felt that it was on par with Bliss. I also found out that it was from Muse. Appalled by the drastic change in sounds from Hysteria and S4A, I couldnt believe my eyes/ears.

However, I finally realised that this little 3-piece was more than meets the eye. Muse announced that they were coming to SIngapore during the start of the 2007. I (again) was made known of this by the one and only original Muse fan in my family, my uncle. At that time my uncle passed me his BH&R album and told me it was OK but far from their best (his fav album was Showbiz, he was an old Muse fan and he liked them when he was a teenager). Upon hearing the album, I immediately felt an attraction to Map of the Problematique. I felt that I was ready for the upcoming concert, armed with 5 songs. :D

After attending the concert on 16th January, I felt a new love for Muse. One that propelled me to obsession of the highest degree. Immediately after the concert I fell in love with the following songs having heard them live: Knights of Cydonia, Feeling Good, New Born, Plug in Baby, Stockholm Syndrome and Sunburn.

Needless to say, my love for the first few songs that I heard were strengthened tremendously, particularly Bliss which Muse extended. I borrowed all the albums from my uncle instantly after the concert and started listening to it on playback.

I later found out that Muse were playing Wembley and that it was going to be a massive gig. My parents and I agreed to travel to England to watch this phenomenal band again. My siblings were converted to fans as well. Unfortuantely, my uncle was in a hectic schedule in June so he couldnt follow us.

I also realised that Bliss has suddenly disappeared from the setlist and I was depressed. My family and I reached London at about 5 pm on the 16th of June and we took the tube to Wembley Park ( yes, luggages and all). We camped outside the stadium listening to all the songs played live. It was freezing cold but it was worth it. After New Born, waves of people started flooding out of the stadium! We decided that this number was going to increase so we left early missing out on PiB and Micro Cuts!:eek:I was glad that I caught CE and COD though.

I checked the whole setlist the following morning and was extremely surprised that Bliss wasnt played. I was in a state of despondency. My fav song and it has completely vanished out of the setlist. And S4A was not going to make an appearance either, I thought. Nevertheless, I marched to Wembley Stadium on the 17th with heavy feet. My family and I braced ourselves to witness the best band alive. We were MCR fans too (albeit not as obsessive as we are about Muse) but we were thoroughly disappointed with their live performances. Muse blasted in with KoC (as they did in Singapore) shortly after and our spirits were lifted.

During the concert itself, I experienced the haunting Forced In to S4A and I nearly cried. Apocalypse Please was also played and I loved every second of it. The drumline tweak during the synth chorus was ace. I was impressed with Invincible too but disappointed with Starlight. Then after Blackout, I was like " Thats it... No Bliss, its Micro Cuts now".

Then I heard the guitar intro of Bliss and I was literally tearing, for my favourite song ever was being played. I danced and sang and cried and enjoyed every second of Bliss and it was extended too! After Take a Bow, I was still tearing. Muse will now be printed in my heart as the best band alive, there's no turning back.

Er OK, sorry I got carried away but please bear with me as it was just too much to keep inside. My whole experience with Muse is as follows and I feel honoured to be a member of this forum. The forum of the best band alive.:D

Hope that gives you an insight as to why I deemed it the Good Ole Days.

Exopolitic feels like a song that was forced. I don't like it. At all.

And Yes Please... Not my liking. As well as a few of the other heavy riffing songs on Hullabaloo... They can be fun, but... Eh. Not for me.

I don't see the appeal behind CoD to be honest :$ I mean, it's definitely not a bad song, it's just low on my list I suppose.

Microcuts is probably the only Muse song I outright *loathe*. From the technical point of view, yeah it's impressive that Matt can sing an entire song in a high-pitched falsetto; in practice though I want to switch him off after half a minute.

The only Muse songs I don't like are TOADA, Exo-Politics (it's more of a personal thing then the actual song..reminds me of a song I really really hate), and The Small Print. In Your World's a bit iffy as well. There's just something odd about them that made me surprised they were even Muse songs. Crying Shame and Futurism have it too actually. The Small Print is great live though.

I don't think there are too many 'bad' Muse songs..just ones where it depends on your music taste. I quite like that too, brings in a variety of people and maybe makes some more open minded.

There are no bad Muse songs; only songs that are too 'generic' and not innovative enough or alternative enough to be muse. Starlight is a good song; but not something I would expect from Muse - too simple and too popish. Same with Thoughts of a Dying Atheist, Sing For Absolution and Exo-Politics. None are bad songs; just not really Muse.

I don't mind Soldiers Poem, I just can't listen to it that much. And it's not a "live performance" kind of song.

Muse don't have any horrible songs. They have "not so great" songs, and often covers. The end of Showbiz seems to drag on, and I can only listen to a few songs on Hullabaloo Disc 1, but it's hard to say I hate them.

Don't get me wrong, Ive heard them, and own them, but I would actually think twice before playing them, unlike songs like, say; Citizen Erazed, Knights of Cydonia, Stockholm Syndrome and Cave.

I can't decide my least favorite

Agitated: okay it's punkish and all and it has some good guitar, but wtf is he saying? ever looked up the lyrics? they're tied w/ unintended w/ teh stupidest lyrics.
Unintended: yea we all love matt's voice but it's such a dull song w/ dull lyrics
Invincible: I dunno, this song just... lame? Strangely, i hate matt's voice in this song.

I feel almost guilty for posting that. (lol) I adore most of their songs. I think the Hullabaloo soundtrack (not the lives) has worse songs than their other albums. They're not necessarily bad songs, their just not as good as their other masterpieces...:D

oh, and b/c i tink i love sappy love songs i love endlessly. I love the "woan woan woan" in soldier's poem, so i like that song too, though it does kinda disrupts bhar album.

So goooood and sweepy and swirly and epic .

I personally thought City of Delusion was the best on BH&R.

:yesey: CoD is my favourite song on BH&R... Chorus is epic!!

Hyper Chondriac Music: Is it just me? or does this sound exactly like 5 other songs of theirs?

I hope it's just you... I love the build up of the music... and the contradiction between the harsh lyrics and the melody...

There are a few that don't do it for me (Invincible, Unintended, Soldiers Poem)... but the only one I really can't listen to (and didn't even make it on my iPod) is Pink Ego Box... It falls in the "what were they thinking" category!!!

Aargh so much dislike for Exo-Politics and City of Delusion. Those are in my top 10 favourites.

Off the top of my head, songs I skip are Starlight, TIRO, Falling Away with You. I'm not saying they are the band's worst songs but I just never got into them. I used to dislike SMBH but now I love it. Same with Assassin, but a few rounds of Guitar Hero changed my mind :)

i think Map of your Head is a real pain, sounds nothing like Muse would normally do (which is many things). when i first got Hullabaloo i listened straight through both discs, i was left cringing after Map of Your Head. many Hullabaloo songs feel like leftovers. Dead Star the best original song on it and the best version of Darkshines is on it.
i also dislike screenager.

:noey: Hyper Music=

It's easy to get tired of it after overplaying. Plus Matt's shrieking instead of singing in that song makes it pretty bad. The best thing in that song is the bassline.

Compared to the rest of Origin, most of Abso, and the vast majority of b-sides it sucks. Not too keen on much of Showbiz (Falling Down is their best song on that album) or BH&R (Hoodoo, Take a Bow, KoC are the top in order).

Uno is bad, Screenager is good. It just takes a couple of listens.

I say it's "Unintended." I really really don't like that song. And I don't care that it was a single either.

So... What do you think is the worst Muse song ever?

1. You're a douche bag.
2. If you find one of Muse's songs bad, then you can piss off. Like seriously! You can't hear that every fucking song is catching!? Of course I got my favorites (btw, Unintended is one of them), but there's not a single song I don't like.

When I first got to "know" Muse was actually by playing Knights of Cydonia. And that's over a year ago, maybe more (not sure really). And since then I still listen to it. I never get tired of it as I do with any other artist's songs! I bought all of their albums, and listened to one album only for a couple of months 'till I switched to a new one. Each and every time I began to listen to a "new" (for me) album I got just as excited over every god damn song they have! Atm I listen to the Absolution DVD I got by my mother for Christmas.

Don't make me list up my favorite songs as there are to many. But by all means, if you insist then of course I will ;D
But you people who seriously come into their home page to this forum to complain of some of their songs can please do us all a favor and piss off.

I think that you should relax a little bit.
Everybody's got a right to have an opinion, and even though you may disagree with it, its idiocy to call a dude a douchebag just because he speaks of his opinion.

Its great that you love Muse, and that you aren't tired of any of their songs. But that rant didn't give any sense in a thread where we are discussing the worst song that muse made....

AND !! (oh yes theres an and ;) ) why cant he be a fan of Muse if he dislikes a couple of songs ? I'll bet a vast amount of money that theres a song out there by Muse that you wouldn't like.

also, your favourite song list would not be very approtiate in a thread discussing BAD Muse songs...

I would like to say "go away and be immature somewhere else", but that would be a little against my statements...

But you people who seriously come into their home page to this forum to complain of some of their songs can please do us all a favor and piss off.
this thread belongs in hell
why would someone on a muse fansite create this?

and sing for absolution ... for me it's just :noey:
