I think it was the single? Emma was looking for back up info anyway, so I wasnt especially paying attention. I just thought it was a stupidly low score.

I saw them supporting Scissor Sisters last night in Nottingham and I was really impressed. I didn't like their 'I'm An Actor' song, but the rest of their set was great!
MassiveEgo - yep, they do have a cool keyboardist!! He has the best facial expression ever!!
The bassist looks a bit like Carl from Libertines as well... ;) (note: I said A BIT).

i missed them at V Fest Sydney 2 weeks ago! i remember hearing that they're really surprised with the size of their fanbase here in Australia, they didn't think they'd have such a good reception.

Anyone like or even heard of this band. Apparently they are from France and have actually been around for awhile. I feel kinda like a n00b for picking up their latest album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, but its actually really awesome. Ive only listened to a handful of their other songs from previous albums. They kinda remind me of Passion Pit mixed with The Killers I guess. Kinda dancy/poppy/electronic. They are fun :)
I'd recommend listening to 1901 and Liztomania by them.

Yay Phoenix! I got their 'It's Never Been Like That' album a few years completely on a whim, had never heard of them before, I think it was selling cheap or summat, can't even remember why I bought it heh. But it's fantastic! The new album is also wonderful, Lizstomania is a great tune :)
I'd like to get some of their earlier albums but they all seem to be fairly expensive (well, by my terms, which means they cost about £9-£10, I hate paying that much for a CD). Might just Spotify them.

Yesterday at the Roundhouse crowd was INSANE. And to think that it was a free/winners gig so not everyone there were fans we expected it to be really mellow.. but the last hour was manic. A dude behind me STOOD on another dude's shoulders, twice  and according to the Frenchies in the crowd who travel around to see them, they've seen far crazier crowds
But yeah, brutal! Especially when they ended with 1901. Very fun though :D

well if you havent yet, definitely get Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Thats my favorite by them. but its also the first i listened to, some hardcore Phoenix fan may call me stupid. But I think its easily their best album. Past that, "Its Never Been Like That" is pretty good. After that Alphabetical.

While their earlier stuff isn't bad, I couldn't get into it like I could Wolfgang. It's never been like that certainly isnt bad.
I didn't really like any of their older stuff, frankly. :erm:

well if you havent yet, definitely get Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Thats my favorite by them. but its also the first i listened to, some hardcore Phoenix fan may call me stupid. But I think its easily their best album. Past that, "Its Never Been Like That" is pretty good. After that Alphabetical.

Thanks! Maybe I'll do some youtubing before purchasing.
I missed that! :( Do you happen to know when Palladia's airing it again?

This is from the Palladia website. Apparently, I just missed it a couple of hours ago. Wah! But the hubs was watching The Searchers. It may be on On Demand, if you have Comcast. Definitely worth checking out. Very different, but really cool.

I can't get into any of their old stuff. :(
Their album "It's never been like that" is my second favourite, listen to "Consolation Prizes" "sometimes in the Fall" & "Long Distance Call" They are really awesome.
They've just added a date in Montréal but it happens to be on October 21st... the exact same day as Muse's show in Québec city. FML. ;__________;
Woah, that sucks some major balls.

Just to ask, crowd-wise how do they compare to Muse?

Just to ask, crowd-wise how do they compare to Muse?
Violent-wise or capacity-wise? LOL
Well, at the iTunes festival it was just 2000 people but it was probably more brutal than at least most if not all Muse gigs I saw (and I saw Muse 20+ times). I was talking to some French Phoenix fans after, they follow them around and according to them it was nothing compared to other Phoenix shows so it does get worse
I guess it all depends on the country though too...

1901.
Just...1901.
Edit: Quick question - does anyone know if there's a place where I can watch the live stream of the iTunes gig?

Phoenix are coming here next year, though I'm not sure they'll be doing sideshows from an 18+ gig :(

I saw that the Daft Punk thread had been resurrected as well. Still gutted I missed them together at MSG. :( I've been watching old yt videos of when Phoenix used to be the backing band for Air back in the late 90s. Always cheers me up to see that they literally have not changed in appearance over the last 12 years.
They're currently my favorite band and they're amazing guys. Since spring I have been disenchanted with Muse.
I have a crush on Deck's hair and Christian's long slender legs.

Geez, they've been touring this album for a long time.
They are really awesome though. Saw them earlier this year and would love to see them again, they were so much fun.

Phoenix are coming back for a festival here, which I can't attend due to age restrictions, and are only doing ONE sideshow. In Adelaide. Which is very far away. I doubt I can go, but I'm trying everything to go.
