anyone watch this with hugh laurie on channel 5, i love this show. its start recently. what do you think of it if you've seen it?
Irritatingly good, it's more Joseph Bell than CSI / ER . :) I'm not sure if the novelty will wear off after awhile, or the plots get too unlikely, but for now it's great fun.

It's fabulous. I've been watching it on Hallmark and missed 15mins of last week's cos we had a power cut. I was unbelievably irritated! Hugh Laurie is barely recogniseable in it - I've always loved watching him but I had no idea he was that versatile as an actor. I thought I already made a thread on this somewhere though?!

lol don't be I watched House for the first time last week, and after like the first word he said I knew who he was and half squealed just because i get like that when i see people who I'm used to seeing in some other show on another programme...I did the same when I saw on of the CSI girls in Friends :confused:
But House is fantastic, I'm gunna miss it when I go back to uni in August and haven't sorted out my TV :stunned:

The faggot with the parrot that went travelling... I think you might be getting him confused with (I think his name was) Brett Stark, cos he had a parrotty thing and went travelling with Billy's mum and then went off on his own. Billy did carpentry and went off to do carpentry somewhere else and his girlfriend went to live with him. I doubt you'd want to give Brett Stark's mum one though.. but he spent lots of time with Billy's mum, so much so that you might have thought she was his mum. I just read that back and confused even me LOL but I don't know how to word it better!

ashamed that i know this but, Brett was the one with the parrot who buggered off travelling, he fancied billy's sister, libby (libby at some point dated brett's older brother, the ex-con darren), so gave the parrot to her so the parrot lived in billy's house for years and years (i duno, he might still do haven't watched it in ages). brett's mum was married to lou and died in a car accident. billy disappeared to be some big carpenter man and girlfriend went with him. for some reason my GCSE spanish textbook had a picture of brett and his mum in the tv programs section, that was like four years ago the picture was out-dated then and now my kid sister has the SAME textbook.

Indeed, he's an utter control freak who could do the hospital a load of damage dispite his cash injection. I did think Kuddy (sp?) was going to step in to defend House after the guy told him not to get rid of the spying Aussie guy, but I guess she's too scared for her own job.
I really like Foreman though. He seems to have real integrity, despite the way House riles him.
Geez, I didn't expect that whole revelation.

Yeah it's annoying when they move time slots isn't it - especially on channel 5 because they only air each episode once.. which is daft considering that the rest of their schedule is filled up with mostly junk LOL

I missed the last episode because I was at my school prom. I asked my sister to record it for me, and she just managed to get the tape chewed up by her TV :rolleyes: She really sucks when it comes to stuff like that....

Season 3 started off shakily. I'm getting the episodes roughly 18 hours after they air in the US. Episode 1 was decent, Episode 2 sucked, Episode 3 was great, but they're doing NOTHING with the leg, just straight back to normal. Nothing big, no character development, nothing new, nowt. Zilch.
The ending to ep. 3 though. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

He was very good in Blackadder, but he was at his absolute peak in Jeeves and Wooster. When reading P. G. Wodehouse's books from the Jeeves series, it makes Hugh's role as Bertie seem so much more natural, because really it isn't possible to picture anybody else playing him. Hugh's portrayal is exactly how you'd imagine Bertie to be from reading the books. The same can be said of Stephen Fry as Jeeves.
But anyway...This thread is about House M.D., not Jeeves and Wooster or Blackadder!
So who's finished with the season already?
I want season 4 already, but at the same time I wish it didn't start until January so they'd show it uninterrupted.

I love House. This month, we got House month :D. 2 episodes every thursday evening :D .
I do think it's quite funny in a way, how they almost always *almost* lose their patient, have organs failing, people shouting and crying, and then suddenly, *ping!* they find out what it is, save the patient, and happily go on again. Without lasting damage to the patient.
Quite odd :LOL:
But I love the commenting and bickering :happy:

It's a change of pace, definitely. The focus isn't on weird medical conditions or even on the relationships between House and his team, it's on the competition. I am enjoying it, though - even if it is glaringly obvious who's going to be in the final three.

i found it funny when he fired the cia lady...i knew he wasn't serious he just wanted to hook up w/ her...:LOL: and she took him seriously about the position on his team...wow...:LOL:, they really didn't need to add that in though...but i guess just to keep everyone on edge....i suppose...

Yeah, I was never really fond of her, but the Amber/Wilson thing was cute. I almost broke down big time when he was crying on Cuddy's shoulder. :'(

i liked the students. it was a nice "change of scenery" to be honest i was getting tired of chase and cameron to be honest forman is always awesome and interesting the other 2 at times can be major snoozers. so i am glad they spiced it up that season.
season 5 of course will be fantastic!

Overall the premier episode for this season wasn't too bad. It didn't recap the finale of last season...thankfully. Just went straight into it. W/ House hanging out w/ a comatose patient...surprise! lol. Then of course Cuddy trying to get him to be human...
But yea House never fails us...him being his usual self. I like how it ended though. It really all made sense and ended perfectly w/ regard to Wilson and House's pseudo-friendship. I guess it's safe to call it that..right? B/c what Wilson said hit it right on point. I always felt that way about their "friendship", it was about time Wilson spoke up. I know eventually House will show emotion but in his awkward way like how he showed his feelings to Wilson in the end.
I wonder what the rest of the season is going to be like. I hope there will be more Cameron and Chase. At least they finally brought Forman in w/ the new ducklings in the middle of last season. Oh and I do hope Wilson comes back though. I liked him and House's relationship even though it was a destructive one.
About the new ducklings though. You'd think by now they'd give us more insight on them. 13 is still very much a mystery, same w/ Kutner and Taub. We got to know very little about them last season. But I feel no concern or connection w/ their characters.Even knowing last season that Kutner was adopted after his parents died and hearing about 13's illness.
I've been watching House since 2005 and caught up w/ all of season 1 while I watched season 2 and became hooked ever since. I miss the way it used to be, maybe if they let us know a little bit more about the new team I'd care a little bit more? But nonetheless I think the scriptwriters are amazing and the cast is still great. At least they know how to keep the viewers interested.

Not a fan of the newbie...they really need more Dr. Cameron and Dr. Chase. Also they need to bring back Dr. Foreman. He's there but he's not really there. The 3 new ducklings are still a major snoozer. But they ended episode 3 weirdly. So maybe they will elaborate on Dr. Taub? I'm starting to get bored w/ them though. This season is reminding me of the seasons w/ Sela Ward [Stacy]. Ugh she was annoying as hell. Where they just don't seem to be getting anywhere w/ anything. But at least the older episodes were super interesting w/ the original ducklings even when Sela was in some episodes. I am hoping they pick it up and make it more interesting for the fans...

I don't mind the PI guy as much as I thought I would. But he still...isn't really that impressive to me. I wish they would make this whole 'race for Cuddy' deal a bit more humorous, more like a caricature of itself rather than so bloody boring. But hey, maybe it will develop into something more interesting. Yes, the wannabe ducklings make me tired as well...I could have sworn that they were going to try and get rid of Taub last night, and I felt like a horrible person for wanting him to go, but it'd leave more room for someone I actually really truly care about to come back in.
Looking forward to seeing Wilson around again also! That relationship, while currently completely screwed up (mmkay...it's been that way all along, but still :LOL: ), is by far filled with the most interesting interactions in the season thus far.
By the by...is it just me, or does House just seem 'out of it?' I mean, I understand what he's probably dealing with (or trying not to deal with), but nevertheless...he seems a bit...off.

Thought the episode last night was the most involving one so far. :D
Cuddy's a sly, sly woman, I tell you. Didn't even really suspect her of drugging House. That was a slick move, and a lovely set up what with having his patient cough on him...Good times. :LOL:
Let's face it: House and Wilson have the best chemistry in the whole season thus far. Their interactions are always the most interesting, and I feel this episode was the epitome of the whole thing. They fought and bitched and bickered the whole way back and forth on this trip of theirs-but then it was so charming in the end when Wilson said that was the most fun he had had since Amber died. Made me smile.
The patient's story was actually pretty interesting, and we finally get a decent dose of Cameron and Chase, and Foreman as well! Nice to see the original ducklings around.
And...yes. I did like Thirteen's comment about Bubbles. Still not a big Thirteen fan, but that line made me laugh.

That was amazing. The best episode of House. Should get some kind of an award. The bad thing is, they can hardly top it with regular episodes.
Season 5 finale soon. I really liked the penultimate episode... It's gone way way way darker than the early seasons... Still love it though.

I enjoyed the lack of Cuddy in this last episode. I can't stand her these days, especially when she and Lucas are together. :vomit:
On the other hand, I loved Chase's realization that oh yeah, he's a sexy guy and women are superficial. :LOL: "Gamer" Chase killed me. Also, House figuring out that woman with the crossword was gold, solid gold. :D

i'm all for seeing house grow and find himself after all he's been through but having cuddy be the answer is kind of lame.

I thought tonight's episode was pretty disappointing. The ending was lame, and the actress portraying the daughter was terrible. I like how there was House/Wilson banter. Not going to lie, the kid is pretty cute too.
I'm very curious to see what Amber Tamblyn's character will be.

I rather liked this episode, just because it's a new female character who has the brains to match up with House, uncompromising (yet!) morality, and who doesn't particularly exude the sexuality that most of the female characters on the show do/did. POTW case was a little lame, but Claire's dad pulled it off. Kept thinking, "why don't they just give him Claire's blood?" :LOL:
Oh, and there was a True Blood reference!
