Was anyone just listening to Zane Lowe(sp?) on Radio1 just now? He's playing cover songs so I thought I'd email in and ask him to play either 'Feeling Good' or 'Can't Take my Eyes off You', and you know what? He did. He played a live version of 'Feeling Good'. It sounded so good. Whoo! *looks proud* Anyone else going to request in, he might play another Muse song, who knows? Email him at zane@bbc.co.uk if you want to try. We can always hope

So, have Muse done any other covers than those two above?

They covered the Smiths' "Please Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want".

Y'know, when it first came on I really did wonder if it was going to be that version. It wasn't though :indiff:

Really?

Anyway. It doesn't matter. I thought their version was the best so it makes sense it would be the original I guess.

I believe it was The Animals.

Actually, the tune itself has origins dating back to the 14th Century, when it was used as a chant by the Celts and Scots. It wasn't until 1928 when Texas Alexander originally recorded House Of The Rising Sun.

The Animals version wasn't the original, just the most famous.

Ah right. I'll take your word for it. (For the simple reason that you sound much better-informed that me. ;) )

everyone thinks that The Animals wrote "House of the Rising Sun" its actually a cover of Nina Simone, who also wrote Feeling Good

You mean by Leonard Cohen?
Nope, they haven't. Although it has been covered by Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley, John Cale and various others including a winner of X Factor in the UK if I remember correctly. It was also in the film 'Shrek' as John Cale's version, although Rufus Wainwright's was on the soundtrack I hear.

wrong,it wasnt the Animal nor Bob Dylan that wrote "house of the rising sun"(and Bob Dylan sang it before the Animal, and Dave Van Ronk sang it before Bob Dylan).I believe it's a traditional song,so in fact it's not a famous ppl that wrote it ;)

and Matt is not a fan of Nina,he sang it for his mother, because it's her favorite song.
