*psst* i read the review, shouldnt it be those stereophonics? no? ah ok then

One question needs to be asked, what the hell happened to that Stereophonics?
Indeed. I totally agree with the review..moviestar is insanely boring. I think they have done some good stuff. They were good when they did that duet thing with Tom Jones. Not really my thing but it was still pretty good.
Now, just shite.
'so take a look at me noooooooooooooow'...SHUT UP!

I could kill at the sound of that song, i hate it.
I like Mr Writer - only decent track off JEEP really.
New album has a couple of decent tracks but on the whole it's terrible stuff and the lyrics are bloody awful. Is "1 2 3 4 5 once I caught a fish alive" meant to be original or something?
Their first 2 albums were good mind.

Stereophonics, great first album, but downhill from there on. About all I can say...
i used to like them. but now, its a different story. kelly jones is a twat. i don't like his comments on some certain artists. and also what happen to the drummer, ungrateful sod. he seem to be a quite jealous man judging what he said in one of the interview. and i can't remember what interview it was. very nasty person. music wise their okay.

I really don't like the Stereophonics at all actually. I can't listen to a whole song without getting bored.
Although there's one or two songs that are alright, can't remember the names though.

right then Stereophonics are returning in early 2005 with a new album "Language, Sex, Violence, Other?" (from a DVD classification rating) and here you can preview a new song, thought to be the new single "Dakota"
http://exodus.interoutemediaservices.com/d...delivery=stream
apparently they are going back to their word gets around/performance and cocktails roots, which should be good. not an acoustic guitar on the record at all!

Right, I havent yet heard the new Stereophonics single, and Im aware of how crazy this sounds... but I heard they've actually got good again... is this true?
I will be incredibly shocked if it is, Word Gets Around was great, Performance & Cocktails was passable... everything since then has been utter dirge... if they're actually doing something interesting again it will be a true miracle.

I used to sorta like them...then I realised that Kelly was really annoying, and liked to say nasty things about a lot of other artists, I read or heard quite a few slaggings in interviews. However I ignored it and just thought, it's about the music...then he slagged off Muse a lot, and completely made up stuff about them. Found it hard to appreciate them then.
I didn't mind JEEP, it's not amazing but i thought it was ok.
Then he had the drummer sacking incident, thought he was even more of a prick.
But then he went and apologised in an interview to Matt and said that Muse were great and were simply amazing live. so forgiven.
Now I've heard Dakota...and it really is good. LOVE it.
I'm quite liking the Stereophonics at the mo.

I will say this, that although i like it, there is one problem. Everytime it starts, without fail, the opening bit of music manages to really really remind me of the opening of A1's (yes, the defunked boyband) cover of A-Ha's Take On Me.
Don't ask how i remember what A1 songs sound like, but i just do somehow.

Woah im listenin to the new album now, yes its kind of leaked :p , and its proper Rock n Roll music, like imagine the music being like guns n roses mr brownstone kinda style and then marilyn manson singing(not marilyn manson scremin) and thats exacly wat this stuff sounds like!
dakota is certanly the most upbeat track, everything else is much darker...
but its certnaly a good turn for the phonics, somehow i think i am gonna av to go and c em in concert again cause this new stuff rocks

nah its nothing major like that, its just something which u need to allow you to play the tracks, once you dload the songs, if you havnt got winrar u carnt listen to em, but if you have it, it lets u listen to them basically like ;)
search in google for it and u can dload it for free :)
I am liking Dakota a lot at the moment

I'm sorry but what's going on?! Their new stuff is the shit! I liked them when I was about 10, but really started to hate them in the last 3/4 years, specially when Kelly started slagging off Matt/Muse.
But I just saw their new VH2 live thing and they were really good, and the new songs sounded great. I really like the Dakota single aswell. I'm sure there's bound to be some haters on this board, and I'm not sure I'll ever be a fan of Kelly Jones as an individual, but c'mon fair play boys!

Oh don't me wrong I like the band and think kelly's an excellent frontman for a gap toothed dwarf it's just I still feel that he's not comfortable in his own voice after all threse years, when he should be because when he's at his best he's phenomenal. Even the way he leans into the mic amuses me:D
But yeah should be a great gig actually, The Courteeners in support are abit meh though but last time I saw the 'Phonics back last November at Wembley they brilliant.

I love how distinctive his voice is, you know straight away its him plus he pulls it off live with the same strength and dynamics, Mr Writer and Maybe Tomorrow are two of my fav songs to hear him sing live...It took me a while to get used to the new line up as I was also a huge Stu fan but I think as a look Javier fits better..
I have to thank my brother and his love for bands such as Oasis for getting me into them as he bought Word Gets Around when it 1st came out and I was hooked. I felt so torn when they had their tiff with muse
I've now seen the Phonics 6 times and they never disappoint, December will be my 7th though I'm not really a fan of the Couteeners they wont be the worst support I've witnessed

Thing is I actually love that cover I think it's excellent compared to the orginal. There one of the bands that for some reason I constantly slag off yet really do like. The first two albums are some of the best of the 90's and after for me a dodgy couople of albums the last two have been excellent aswell. I do miss Stuart though.
Where are you seeing them tonight? I had no idea the tour had started yet :(, I thought it began in December

I loved Stu but as a girl Javier is pretty fit
Ah you really are a true Oasis fan...Love Oasis hate every other band (but realy sectretly love every other band) How's you Beatles collection??
Yeah You've got to go there to come back was pretty somber and mellow and perhaps not as good as the others but apparantly they were going through personal difficulties and drugged up too much. JEEP for me is their weakest yet it actually has my fav song on it Mr Writer.
The tour hasn't started I won tics to sse them at the official album launch party

Yep i'm the sterotypical Oasis fan i'm afraid, I actually own every Beatles physical release it's rather sad but the money i've spent on imports and such like is spiralling to crazy amounts:LOL: On saying that I own all of the 'Phonics singles and albums aswell so I suppose i'm actually quite a fan haha!
I agree with that, from those two albums the only tracks that stand out for me are 'Maybe Tomorrow and Mr. Writer which is also my favorite 'Phonics track it's brilliant and great live. I still love 'Performance and Cocktails' though just for 'Roll up and Shine' and 'The Bartender and The Theif' that for me is what the 'Phoncis should sound like, proper Rock 'n' Roll anthems.
Thats amazing!! I never win anything like that, wheres the album launch?

 you do actually sound like a man after my own hearts, My dad mad some sarc comment the other day when I was watching Oasis' new video about how it was good to see Oasis re releasing Imagine  but that's just my dad for you...Mr Writer always give me goose bumps when I hear it live. On tues on the Jools Holland show they did Bartender, Local Boy and Dakota as well as their latest, I have to say the audience really only seem to recognise Dakota where as I was belting out them all (thank god the cameras weren't anywhere near me)
As for the competion I have seemed to be the most unlucky person of recently so perhaps it finally decided I deserved some.

He's not really, just has that Welsh sarcy, wit that sometimes comes across as arrogance or as he puts it him self “It’s that narky little Welsh Viking geezer that comes out now and again. I really don’t like authority – men in uniforms with badges and guns.”

great gig as per usual tonight at the Royal Albert Hall:D It was even better once the nice gentleman infront of me let me infront of him as I was getting alot of hassel from the guy behind me, he appeared from no where and proceeded to lean all his weight on me with his arms in the air despite having enough room to stand and do that with out leaning on me, he was very bargy and also singing really loadly but unfortunately was tone deaf and was drowning out Kelly. He actually pissed of everyone around him idiot. I'm all for getting into it but he was just been dis respectful. Other than that, I welled up during YMS but loved it, they never dissappoint.
The 1st support act was amzing though I thought it was a boy, apparantly not :-s and the Noisettes were surprisingly good, last time I saw them was 2 1/2 years ago supporting muse and they sucked big time, they seemed to have developed and toned down the scattyness and manics squeeling which is always a plus.

I saw these in Newcastle on Monday night and they were fucking brilliant.
I thought they would be quite good, but being a bit of a Musey rock-snob I thought that being a more mainstream pop-rock band they wouldn't be that great.
How wrong I was! The performance was absolutely fantastic and far exceeded my expectations. If any of you are in any doubt about how good they are, I would strongly recommend that you go and see them. I wouldn't have considered myself a "fan" before the gig, but I do now.

At first I thought the new album was a bit meh to be honest. Hearing it live made me appreciate it a lot more though, it is a pretty solid album, not amazing but does definitely have some good tunes on it.
