View Full Version : Desperate Housewives

It was very very funny, loved it.
The wife giving her husband an allergic reaction was priceless.
I saw it last night, I'm undecided about it yet, will prob watch more to see how it pans out. Kinda makes me think of sex and the city but alot more quirkier and darker.

Absolute trash, I guess it must be a woman thing but it just seemed to be low brow tosh to me. What's the trend with modern american offbeat drama comedy things being basically "lol sex lol" ?

I thought she still looked pretty good myself.
I really enjoyed the show. The woman wadding fully dressed into the swimming pool at the wake to retrieve her three awful sons had me cracking up. Also when she slapped her husband when he wanted to risk having sex without a condom.

I thought it was either gonna be some crappy sitcom, or like a porn program. But it turned out to be dead good and also really funny. Burning down the house, and stuffing her daughters project down the train so she could call the random (and gun toting) plumber was a nice idea, and i think the sweimming pool thing will get people hooked enough to watch the next episode.
Half Life
07-01-2005, 09:12 PM
I thought it was pretty good, if a bit cliched in places, e.g. Gabrielle having an affair with her gardener. However, it did redeem itself by also having her escaping from a party and mowing the lawn in a long party dress. I'll be watching to see how it develops.

Acting is a bit... off.
Lois Lane's character needs some work ( i don't know her name in this show) because i don't really think her character is that interesting. And so does the blond one with bratty children.
Redhead has an easy job at doing the 'bitch' and is cliched, yet i like her.
The other one makes it a bit interesting. The rich husband one.

I think that it was always to be expected that there would be stereotypes & cliches in the show. It's quite enjoyable that they are, like that blonde divorcee.

That's the part I didn't like. It's a cheap nasty way of making people watch the following episode. One cliffhanger is alright, now and again, but the way they revealed the note at the very end left me feeling abit "oh... so you're 'forcing' me to continue, instead of letting me" for some reason. 2nd ep is better though.

But it would be a tad more interesting if the characters had a nice individual characteristic. Even just one each.

Yep, the husband of the dead woman. It was originally buried under their swimming pool, but he dug it up at night soon after she killed herself.
The son then found the chest in the garage, and so the father then dumped it in a river/lake.
We don't know whose bones they are.

Mike broke into the house for an unknown reason at the beginning of the episode, and then dissapeared. It was just to reassure the viewer that he's got a secret.
Last nights First Look Episode on e4 was quite good, actually. Huge cliffhangers. About 20 of them. Edie has become the centre of my attention, now. Brie's my favourite, though.
Hurrah. Another crappy show that i'm addicted to :indiff: The OC was bad enough.

Bree got on my nervers a bit, at the fact she didn't even give it a thought about that guy after the other guy she was with, she didn't think he was a murderer but he was, if someone came in and said that about him being a murderer then you'd atleast prospone the wedding and inquire more or something, well i feel sorry for her at the same time too

I bet it'll turn out that Orson didn't kill his wife. I bet she actually did just leave, and disappeared to try to frame him, to punish him for being so anal-retentive. I mean, apart from the suspenseful music and the neighbour's suspicions, there's nothing to suggest that he did.
The toothless body though, that's another story.

No, everything irritates me about him, just dont like him - he may be a good actor, but lets face it, Desperate Housewives is hardly Shakespeare! It's hard to tell whether he is a good actor or not on that show. I just couldnt possibly ever find out because watching him for long enough to form an educated opinion may make me want to cry. That's never nice.
I only watch it because the twists and turns are funny, and the difference between the perfect lives that other people see, compared to the ones that they actually live are fantastic :)

If they end it after 4 its because the only people left watching are the actors mums
They used to make me laugh and surprise me a lot, now the story is getting poor and less and less realistic... how many more lunatic, serial killers and wierd stuff of the sort will they have in their neighbourhood ? And the loss of memory trick ... it looks more and more like a very common and plain soap now, i beg the story writers to make a better job in future ! And more interactions between the wives, now we see them each on their own and never together again ...
Has no one cared to watch season 3 finale ?
I wasn't found of that season but the last 3 or 4 made it up a little, and Bree's back at least.
Very usual again, not very surprising that they are once more making us wonder if a character is dead or not. I hope she's dead, never liked her. But I guess she won't, but it will have consequences (another coma ? lol)

yeah I guess her reasons make her a bit deep and human at least, and it's rather sad indeed...

It was on C4. Don't worry-it was only a tiny bit at the end of last series.
Basically, Bree's daughter got pregnant from that guy who claimed to be going out with Julie (I think he was Edie's nephew or something), and because Bree couldn't hack the embarrassment of her daughter being a teenage mother out of wedlock, she sent her away to this convent type thing for pregnant teens for the duration of her pregnancy (telling the neighbours that she has gone to boarding school).
Bree and Orson went on their honeymoon/some type of long holiday (I don't remember), and when they came back, Bree had a baby bump. (A fake one, obviously).
So basically, Bree is pretending she is pregnant until the baby comes, when she will carry on pretending that the baby is hers.
:D

Nah, there's generally a new addition every series. I can't wait to find out what the story is on this new family. So far I have child abuse, repressed memories or possibly a switched child.
 It's too realistic for words.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG AMAZING.
at the end, it splits to a scene, which is 5 years into the future - so i think, the next seriees, is going to be continuing from 5 years on, but perhaps looking back over the next 5 years
also, what happened with dylan no.1  :( sooo sad.
im soooo glad wayne is dead
and i really like Cathy now, despite her accidently killing Dylan No.1 and covering it up :(

Ooomgg last episode = pure awesomeness. The end had me smiling a little. Esp. how Gabby ended up with the drive-your-mom-crazy children  I thought it was cute.
But the part when Cathy was telling her secret  I was so shoked. I had no idea :(
All in all, good episode.

That ending scene in his house was definitely the most disturbing thing I've seen on the show. And then seeing him talking to Lynette straight after who doesn't suspect a thing...

In England we've got too.. Eddie is about to kill Lynette? And it's all came out about that guy (cant remember his name) killed Carlos's mum. Susan has to leave her house?

Nah, she won't die. The best we can hope for is that the remaining baby in her stomach kicks it. I'm so not feeling the whole ANOTHER baby scenario. It needs to die.
Gabby is blates the best housewife! Love her.

What about Lee's gun? It wouldn't show that for nothing right? Or maybe they just showed it to make us think it was Lee.... hm.... But he did have the biggest motive

Lol did I just completely forget about Lee having a gun? Hmm, but then there was the bit when Lynette sort of forgave him at the end, which makes me think his motive has died down slightly. Yay, speculating
Ooh and Orson's back :erm: I can't wait for his reaction when he finds out about Bree and Keith!

Sorry, I just meant maybe someone told Mike that Susan had been trampled or something so he found Paul responsible and then took revenge. But anyway, it could have been anyone
