They did a fairly cool version of Rammstein-Seemann. Shame they got such a shit singer (Nina Hagen) to sing.

if you like metallica, then a good intro to apocalyptica would be listening to their versions of songs such as one, the unforgiven etc :)

was anyone else at the mean fiddler? :)
I like their old stuff (meaning before they got a singer) so much better than the new. Shame. :(
Their new song "Repressed" features Max Cavalera :D
but unfortunately also someone called Matt Tuck which ruins it :stunned:
I liked them in the days before they had all these guest vocalists.
Heard about them from an extremly pretty Finnish girl  But I'm yet to hear any of their stuff (other than the Life burns video I'm watching now). Where can I hear some of their songs?
they have some music vids on their official site
including "Hall of the Mountain King" live :D

ya this band is cool. most of their songs in "Reflections" were pretty good. but one question, is the band made up of string instruments?
^ Well pre-Reflections they were yeah, 4 Cellists.
But Reflections & Onwards they had added a Drummer to the Group, no Guitars or anything
I saw these Guys a few years ago in London and they were amazing, they are such lovely and shy people too. Awww
The Metallica Tribute CD though :noey:

RAMMSTEIN frontman Till Lindemann and THREE DAYS GRACE's Adam Gontier are among the newly revealed guest singers who are featured on the upcoming album from Finnish cello rockers APOCALYPTICA, entitled "Worlds Collide". Lindemann reportedly appears on the song "Helden", which is said to be a German-language cover version of the DAVID BOWIE classic "Heroes".
"Worlds Collide" is scheduled for release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on September 14 via G.U.N. Records. The group's new video for the song "I'm Not Jesus", featuring a guest appearance by Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR), has been posted at YouTube. The clip was filmed in in Los Angeles with director Tony Petrossian (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, RISE AGAINST, SLIPKNOT). The "I'm Not Jesus" single will precede the "Worlds Collide" album on August 31. Other confirmed guest musicians on the CD include Dave Lombardo (SLAYER), Tomoyasu Hotei (superstar Japanese composer, whose credits include the "Kill Bill" soundtrack), and Joseph Duplantier (GOJIRA). Backing vocals for the effort were laid down by Swedish singer Mats Levén (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, THERION, KRUX, TREAT, AT VANCE).
"Worlds Collide" tentative track listing (not confirmed):
01. Worlds Collide
02. Grace (feat. Tomoyasu Hotei)
03. I'm Not Jesus (feat. Corey Taylor)
04. Ion
05. Helden (feat. Till Lindemann)
06. Stroke
07. Last Hope (feat. Dave Lombardo)
08. I Don't Care (feat. Adam Gontier)
09. Burn
10. S.O.S. (Anything but Love) (feat. Cristina Scabbia)
11. Peace
Found this and thought it as pretty cool! :)

Old thread resurrection!
I simply love this band
I love their Nothing Else Matters cover, favourite album at this stage has to be Cult
So who's got the new album?
I have! teehee, its awesome, definitely sounds much different than their earlier stuff but I love their new approach. Love all the songs I can't seem to pinpoint which one would be my fave at the moment, it keeps changing
I hope they tour Australia....soon

Ditto that! Hehe. I don't have many of their albums, just one unfortunately, but yea... I'd get my hands on more if I had the cash. Urgh.
My gig review of the Kentish Town Forum show here. (http://themusicalchairs.blogspot.com/)
It was a lot of fun, even though I'm probably still not really into them. :D

I've heard a lot of people say their gigs are completely unique. I'm a bit uncertain cause although I've seen a lot of instrumental bands before, I have a tendency of getting a bit bored? So yeah, what is it that makes their gigs so different, people?
Saw them again last night. Amazing as always!
Sophie, it's hard to explain...maybe it's just something novel with the metal played on cellos thing, but they put everything into their performance too. Always full of energy and encouraging the crowd. Sometimes use cool effects as well (e.g. at one of their concerts I was at the bodies of their cellos burned as they played). Obviously, their music rocks too. :)

New album '7th Symphony' will be released on August 24th. The first single, entitled 'End of Me' features Gavin Rossdale of Bush. Tis good!

The album also features Joe Duplantier of Gojira, Brent Smith of Shinedown, Lacey Mosley of Flyleaf and Dave Lombardo of Slayer. It shall be interesting.
