Tobias: Well, I don't want to blame it all on 9/11, but it certainly didn't help.

season 3 just came out on dvd this week in the states.
I have all of the dvds...I can watch this show all the time...and I practically do.
the ending of season 3 is all encompassing and oh so great.
I watched it sometimes when it was on fox but it wasn't until I got the dvd's that everything fell into place...definitely one of my favorite comedies of all time.
gob is god.
My twathead former friend got me into this.
At least he did one thing right.
It's weird. I can't figure out if I like it or not. At some points i think it's awsome and pretty funny. At other times i find it stupidly annoying too.

One of the best comedies around. It's a shame that it got cancelled after 3 years. G.O.B. is the best character imo. Pier Pressure is probably my fave episode. I recently got the Season 3 dvd from playusa :D which means I have them all now. I couldn't be bothered to wait for Season 3 to get a Region 2 release date.
The only explination I think why the show didn't last for a long time is because of all the subtle jokes. The subtle jokes are one of the best things about it.
For everyone in UK btw, this show has started airing on Bravo :D

Just in case you all don't know, series 3 is airing on Sunday nights on BBC2, I assume the BBC will do its usual thing of moving it around each week and not actually airing some episodes. They've done another horrible job of advertising such a great comedy.

They showed it last year on BBC2, Seinfeld was treated the same way, it's a shame. Arrested Development is one of the best sitcoms in recent years imo.
Season 3 is great. Mr. F!
Apparently the character Tobias is going to be in the season 6 of Scrubs.

Yeah, Braff is trying to get him on the show as a special guest.
The only thing is, Bill Lawrence is the kind of guy who likes good continuity. I wonder how he feels about having David Cross on there as Tobias, but didn't have Jason Bateman on there as Michael.

And it seems my prediction is correct, this Sunday's two episodes start at 11:30pm for most of the UK (15 mins later than last Sunday), and 12:30am for Wales, nobody's going to watch it that late, thanks a lot BBC. It would do so much better at 9pm on BBC3, instead of the fucking awful Little Britain and Catherine Tate Show repeats. As for Sunday 8th, its not even scheduled yet.

G.O.B. is definitely my favorite out of a great group of characters. Arnett plays the character so perfectly. The final episode of the first season is the best/funniest example of that. :D
"Beads!"
"Bees!?!?"
"Beads."
"Beads!?!"
So great.

Some of my fave G.O.B. quotes:
"NO! THESE ARE JUST STRIPPERS, LOOK HOW HOT THEY ARE!"
"I gotta find this hermano guy"
"Taste the happy Michael!"
"With club sauce"
"Check out banner Michael!"
"I will" (when he takes the forget-me-nows)
Any time hes trying being serious and borderline crying.
There's many others but they are some of my faves.

how are you?
GOB is the best. although Buster is really great, I started mimicing the holding his ears thing...don't know how but now I do it a lot.
-Some say wealth is an illusion, well let's just see. For one moment it's here and then the next...monopoly.
-She's not that Mexican, she's my Mexican...she's Columbian...or something.
-The problem is she keeps saying that god is going to show me a sign…the something of my ways…wisdom? It’s probably wisdom.
-This is not going to be a day at the beach.
-...oh. That's cool. Mom packed me a change of clothes.
-Spend time with Michael...or to serve her own menopausal needs?
-She's always got to wedge herself in the middle of us so that she can control everything.
-Yeah, mom's awesome...maybe we should call her.
-You can't do that in the snack room, pal?
-Mom told me to stay away from microwaves.
-Wow...we are just blowing through naptime aren't we?
-I wonder how many women he's slept with... if any."
-Lindsay, it's not a competition.
-Of course it is, Michael. That's why they call it scoring.
-Maybe in the 70's.
-That many? I've only been doing this for a month...
ahh George Michael and Maeby...
-That Steve sure knows how to please a lady!
-Good, I was hoping he would be gifted sexually. I mean, I guess it makes sense, you know, older guys expect certain things.
-They do?
-What a fun sexy time for you.

ROFL "What a fun sexy time for you" thats one of George Michael's best lines ever.
Some more of my fave lines:
Michael: "Oh my god you're Oscar!"
Oscar: "... .com"
Tobias: "I blue myself"
Michael: "There has got to be a better way to say that"
Michael: "F-*BEEP*''-'ING CORNBALLER!"
G.O.B.: "Monopoly!"
Tobias: "Of course the first Bob Loblaw Law Blog, you sir are a mouthful!"
Buster: "These kind of skills?"
Linsday: "G.O.B. doesn't do anything for the family"
G.O.B.: "Hey, I'm f-*beep*-ing Lucielle 2!"
Tobias: "I was a professional twice over - an analist and therapist. The world's first analrapist"
Buster: "I love leathery snappy faces"
*Lucille appears in the background*
Michael: "You sure have a type"
Michael: "Who?" (about Anne)
Michael: "Her?" (about Anne)
G.O.B.: "And please refrain from discussing or engaging in any sort of inter-office *BLEEP*-ing, or *BLEEP*-ing, or finger-*BLEEP*-ing, or *BLEEP*-ing or *BLEEP*-ing, or even *BLEEP*, even though so many people in this office are begging for it. And if anybody does anything with my sister Lindsay, I'll take off my pants, I'll show my *BLEEP*, and I'll personally *BLEEP*.

I remember there was one George Michael quote, season 1 or 2, he's sitting in the model home reading through a scrapbook trying to find out if Maeby was adopted or not. And he went into a rant saying "but its soooo right" or something like that, then another character walked in and he had to stop saying whatever he said.
Can anyone remember what the scene was? I haven't watched my Arrested Development DVD's in ages.

Apparently Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator of the show, is currently writing a script. All of the actors have stated in interviews that they would be more than willing to take part in a film so it looks like it should be out toward the end of 2009.

I hope that they won't try and go R-rated for the film. It would be better if any foul language was bleeped out. For instance, Buster's rant against Lucille in the first season is made funnier because all but one or two words are bleeped out. That, combined with the shocked looks on everyone's face had me rolling.

Pretty sure the movie is being released this year and that it is in production. It's going to be the highlight of my year.
There are reports that the script is about half done.

Heck yes! First news in ages. At the end he says they might start doing it before the end of the year if the script gets finished :D

Sorry, no movie news (in case this bump got anyone excited).
Just thought I'd write up this hilarious moment from an episode I just watched:
Wayne Jarvis: Michael, this is a close-up, satellite photograph of the Iraqi countryside. See this little series of hills around that stream? Those are bunkers. We believe that those bunkers contain weapons of mass destruction. We also think that your father was building on that land to hide them, which is why that photograph was on his email.
Michael: Are you serious?
Wayne Jarvis: Almost always. I was once called the worst audience participant Cirque Du Soleil ever had.
Michael: This is a big accusation...
Wayne Jarvis: Well Michael, I did not find their buffoonery amusing.

Although actually, apparently a plot has been leaked and will be revealed in the coming weeks.
"Ron Howard is making a movie about the Bluths using an A-List cast. But Dr. Tobias plays himself because nobody wants to play him in the movie. The Bluths decide to make their own movie in contention with Ron Howard's."

That sounds great!
But who will play Tobias in the Bluth's version?

Well looks like we may finally get the movie plus a little extra!
What a delightful day for a “Bluth Family Reunion.” On Sunday afternoon, Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz gathered with his entire cast for their first time together since December 2005 for the hot-ticket panel at the New Yorker Festival. On stage Hurwitz revealed that he was halfway through the movie script he wanted to start shooting next summer. The cast of Bluths are leaving their own schedules free should this dream scenario come to fruition. Further intriguing news: Hurwitz said his plan is to shoot a limited-run TV series of nine to 10 episodes that would air next fall and catch audiences up on the characters’ lives in the five years since the series ended. While he didn’t want to give up any spoilers he did reveal one obvious hint of what’s in store for the family Bluth: “They f@*! everything up.” Lord, let this all happen.

Wait until you get to Little Britain. Or Tobias never realizing the double meanings of what he says. Or what's in the banana stand. Oh my god, I love this show.

Started this last week, just finished watching them all - loved the characters and story. Good fun! Didnt realise how old it was though, feels fresh.
There was proper funny bit in series 3 that got me, a simple out burst by buster but the timing was spot on.
