their first album is great imo especially Shoots & Ladders :D
Life Is Peachy is crap apart from A.D.I.D.A.S & Low Rider,
I quite like most of Follow the Leader,
Issues is alright I guess, only FAFM & Dead stand out though :p
Untouchables I did not like to be honest

Hey Stu =)
I gotta admit i don`t like EVERY song on every album..And i did actually only buy Life Is Peachy cos i LOVE A.D.I.D.A.S (Btw do u like the techno version?)
But i like the majority of the other songs on their other albums..
:O @ not liking untouchables...It has Alone I Break on there!..One of ma fave songs by them :p ...I also love track 6 and 13 on that album...And like a lot of the others :P ...
I think TALITM is a bit "poppish" for them...But i really like Right Now and Y`all Want A Single..Ahhhh And his voice...(Sorry i`m a voice/accent perv *fg*) ...
Have you ever seen them live? I can`t wait till they`re over here again..
Peace...LiSe =)(=

Er, never really intentionally listened to Korn or been crazy about what I'd accidentally heard  but I just have to say I respect the guys now.
They had the balls to come to Moscow and perform a freaking Pink Floyd song in front of a pop-oriented audience at the RMA. Am impressed. And totally freaked out. Because watching that was even more uncomfortable than watching Basic Instinct with parents. And that's saying something! It was totally bizarre. Korn, Pink Floyd, Moscow, Russian Music Awards. Wtf? Kelly Osbourne is supposed to perform as well.
But I thought they did a great job anyway, especially the singer. I mean, I hate their guts and want to kill them for mutilating a perfectly perfect Pink Floyd and I mean, who the fuck do they think they are, going around performing Pink Floyd songs! But. Considering the circumstances...they were fucking ace  Most remarkable moment: singer holding out the mic and the audience going "EEEEEE! AAAAAAA!" instead of singing "We don't need no education"  Oh god nearly pissed myself laughing.

The nu-metal heavyweights played out their own version of Metallica's 2004 drama when singer Jonathan Davis was hospitalised at the last minute with a mystery illness.
But the band played on, joined by a succession of famous friends plucked from today's line-up, making for an unusual setlist that looked like this:
'Its On' (with Jesse Hasek from 10 Years)
'Falling Away' (with M Shadow from Avenged Sevenfold)
'Somebody' (with Dez Fafara from Devildriver)
'Coming Undone' (with Dez Fafara from 'Devildriver')
'A.D.I.D.A.S.' (with Benji Webbe from Skindred)
'Clown' (with Corey Taylor from Stone Sour)
'Freak' (with Corey Taylor from Stone Sour)
'Blind' (with Matt Healy from Trivium)
That would have been interesting.

That's ok...I really didn't care about this thread- I just needed to get some poins :$
However, I love Korn (especially their old albums), they're one of my fav bands...they were my nr 3, after Metallica and Silverchair, although their new, a bit hip-hop-ish style it's not as good as their old shit (maybe that's because I'm too much of metal head)...but I still love them and appreciate a lot.
That what they did at Download Festival just shown how much they care about their fans...even though they are A-level stars for a very long time and they don't need to do much to get new fans and keep the old ones...
btw...their video to Twisted Transistor RULEZ!!!
People still take that rap/rock shit seriously?

I didn't say, I take it seriously...I think Twisted Transistor video explains everything:p
What I said was, that I prefer their old shit.
However, it doesn't mean I don't like their new album:rolleyes:
..especially, as a bass player, I have to say it's very well done. They added many new things to their music, but at the same time, they kept their KoRn style

I don't know which ones I was listening to. They were on a compilation cd I made years ago which included Static-X and Slayer :\mm/:
Might have been Freak on a Leash, A.D.I.D.A.S and that one that keeps saying "What the fuck"
I <3 Falling away from Me.
Really like Evolution too. Just bought the new album. Lets see how it plays baby.

I'd like to see 'em play at the CIA in Cardiff, but nearly £30 for a band I'm not entirely fussed about is a bit too steep. Plus, I'd have to wing it on my own as I know I couldn't convince anyone else I know to go see them.

I'm pondering the same thing. I've listened to their every album, granted, but I don't like half of their stuff. The ticket costs 44€ as well...

The 9th album probably, anything else? :)

It's more acceptable with Other Bands though, prevents pointless new threads. ;)
I do like Korn, I don't have albums just random singles. Right Now is probably my favourite track, I like others like Fake and Alone I Break a lot as well.

You'll probably like the new album then. It's supposed to go back to their roots and be recorded without any processing or Pro Tools editing. They even got Ross Robinson as the producer again.
My favorite Korn album is still Issues, however.

The new song is, once again, Jonathan Davis bitching about Head.
However, the song harks back to Life is Peachy.

The new album came out two days ago and its fucking mental. It really holds the talk about returning to old school true and the vibe is so in-your-face.
Haven't heard the entire thing yet. Uber-Time is a super stylish intro. So far my favorite songs are Oildale, Pop A Pill and Move On, the later which I'm listening to right now.

16-07-2010, 03:40 AM
I saw KoRn live last night. It was freakin' mental. They played stuff from the newer album - Olidale, Let the Guilt Go - but they also played older stuff like Got the Life, Blind, etc. It was a healthy mix, and the crowd was certainly into it. It was better than I expected.

I have read lot of comments of people who are annoyed by this dubstep direction for the new album, but I really like the tracks I have heard so far. Really looking forward to it.
Juuso
14-10-2011, 10:36 AM
Korn have done lots of experimenting (in a good sense mostly) in their careers. This dubstep thing is quite natural (if not as cutting-edge as their first albums) progression.
GorkerMorker
14-10-2011, 11:04 AM
They handled it well. Having it as a part of the rest of the instruments simply makes for an interesting baseline. It's better than putting in an obligatory drop at 2/3 of the song essentially replacing that regurgitated piece of rap in 90's songs.
Wingardium LevioSIA
14-10-2011, 05:05 PM
I was concerned when I heard about the idea, because as much as I like experimentation, I just couldn't see it working well. I still don't like Get Up!, but Narcissistic Cannibal isn't too bad. One thing I'm not keen on in either song is the chorus - they seem really polished and lack the energy of older Korn tracks or even the verses of these new songs.
I won't dismiss the album yet, but I still need to be convinced.
