Don't know why, but one of my fav NIN songs is the cover of Joy Division's Dead Souls from the film The Crow. I'll upload it if anyone hasn't heared it.

new NIN Live DVD teaser : http://www.nin.com/visuals/byit_teaser.html

Early 2007 makes me a bit concerned, after all the Closure DVD was supposed to come out "Fall 04" as I recall and that still hasn't surfaced.

Yes, in HD (Blu Ray/ HD-DVD). That 1920x1080 trailer is beautiful.

Kinda makes me wish I saw them. Idiots only toured over here once though and did 3/4 different NA tours, each with different stage setups an setlists yeesh.

Really? Brixton seems to be bigger downstairs in the standing bit. I imagine they chose there as that's where they played last summer.

I'm personally happy that it's at Brixton as in my experience ticket prices are generally a bit cheaper there than the Apollo.

Sure about that? I think they are well known for some of their weaker songs. I thought they only had one decent album before With_Teeth (PHM), but I've re-evaluated them since then. True, I'd still skip Broken and I don't like about half the stuff on Downward Spiral, but PHM is solid, and The Fragile has some of their very best songs if you dig for them. Try listening to "Into The Void" and "Where Is Everybody?" if you like the With_Teeth sound... less noisy and more synthy!

I thought the Dresden Dolls were awesome. I really liked them and got both thier cd's now. Trent usually picks a support act that he is a fan of and he has a great taste in music so i think he'll pick a band thats half decent at least. Revolting Cocks would be a good opener but i doubt that would happen.

Nothing can be worse than when Muse had Elbow as support anyway. The most boring band ever...

No Pilgramage/Mr Self Destruct. No Deep. No Into The Void / La Mer medley. Bit of a let down since half of it is the same as AATCHB.

Not really. NIN are not Industrial. NIN are NIN in my opinion. Cant really put them into a specific genre. There are a few songs which are industrial-esque but not many.

Well NIN are more industrial-tinged rock than pure industrial, so it's not that weird. They are hardly Skinny Puppy, Coil or FLA.

NOTE: This is "Closure" disc 1 of 2. Disc 2 (music videos) will be uploaded to this site soon, as well as a version spread onto three discs so it can be burned with a single-layer DVD burner.

NINE INCH NAILS: CLOSURE
Original VHS release: 1997
DVD release: currently unscheduled

Unofficial DVD Prototype Release [halo 12 p]

Closure was originally released as a double VHS box set in 1997. The first tape chronicled Nine Inch Nails' infamous mid-90's Self Destruct tour with backstage footage and raw live performances, while the second tape compiled NIN's music videos from 1989 to 1997.

In 2004, a long-anticipated DVD release was finally announced, only to be delayed indefinitely due to legal hang-ups and record company red tape. Now, with no official release in sight, the prototype version of the 2004 DVD has surfaced.

This prototype has not been professionally authored, encoded, or color-corrected, and the main feature has not been digitally remastered. As such, video quality is not as high as it will be if Closure ever sees an official commercial release. In the meantime, it's better than nothing.

TWO VERSIONS of this release will be available, depending on how you intend to view it. They are:

Dual-layer disc version (for computer playback or burning with a dual-layer DVD burner):
CLOSURE_DISC1_DL.iso
CLOSURE_DISC2_DL.iso

Single-layer disc version (for burning with a single-layer DVD burner):
CLOSURE_DISC1_SL.iso
CLOSURE_DISC2_SL.iso
CLOSURE_DISC3_SL.iso

The content of both versions is the same, but the single-layer version is spread out over three discs due to space constraints. The dual-layer version has slightly higher image quality.

Each disc is distributed as a .iso disc image file. They can be opened from your computer and played back like a physical DVD. They can also be burned as DVDs with programs like Toast (Mac) or Nero (PC).

Trent's talking about the new album in this week's Kerrang. He says that it's a concept album:

"Essentially I wrote the soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist. This album is a bit more electronic and I'd say rhythm plays a bigger element in it than in the past and it's veering away from concern about song structure and getting played on the radio"

Asked if it will be a heavy album he says:

"It's not heavy in any kind of metal sense, I'd say a bit inspiration sonically would be early Public Enemy records, a collage of sound type of thing, not heavy in a metal guitar kind of way."

Hmm. I'm concerned it will be full of the sort of songs that I don't like on The Fragile. :(

Yeah I read that. NIN are in Kerrang next week too I think. I don't normally buy Kerrang but if NIN are in there I will seeing how NIN news is very rare...

Personally I like the sound of a "movie soundtrack" type album. I dont think it will be like The Fragile which is a good thing and a bad thing.

A good thing because The Fragile is a masterpiece and the greatest album ever written imo...So another album like that would take away the uniqueness of The Fragile....

A bad thing because well as said above The Fragile is a masterpiece. There is not one bad song on it for me, so more songs of that style would suit me.

Personally I hope it sounds unique and not like anything Trent has done before. All his other releases are unique so I hope he continues to write albums that are new and fresh but still have that NIN sound...

Same here. I was disappointed when they didn't perform it in Columbus last summer. They did a LOT from The Fragile though, even "La Mer."

The problem with closer is that I do love the track, but it's been overplayed/killed to death. When people think NIN all they think of is closer as their sexy song and that's kinda sad. I think sunspots has a very sexual vibe to it too.

Tho I am quite looking forward to the prospect of we're in this together live more than any other track

God yes, it's always Closer that they play at clubs. It's so worn out.

I'd really like We're In the Together too, but Happiness In Slavery has always been a huge favourite of mine.

Happiness in slavery is very good too, and so is last. I think they're neglected awesome tracks. You know I would quite happily see Last being played too mm.

Thing is I heard ages ago that they never played we're in this together as they needed two drummers or something?

If that is the case then Trent needs to borrow Grohl for the live shows, obviously. ;)

Hi all! Anyone here seeing NIN at Brixton Academy on the 11th March? Should be awesome.
Also, last night I saw lostprophets at the Astoria, and they played a cover of NIN's "Sin", saying it was a song by their favourite band. It was a really good cover, only problem was only like, 5 people there knew it! And by chance, they all happened to be standing next to me.
I found it disturbing how no one else knew it, I mean PHM is classic album...

I imagine most people at a Lostprophets gig wouldn't be too familiar with NIN, let alone the first album. (Seriously stereotyping here, sorry)

I'd love to see NIN play Sin though, its one of my fav songs.

I also love Sin and when I saw it played live it was amazing. The Album version really dosnt do the song justice. The live version is just amazing and Trent is so full of energy even when he's singing songs that are 18 years old.

I would love to see The Perfect Drug live but Trent have said that it will never happen. Im really hoping they play Burn when I see them in Birmingham...

I'm a big fan of Heresy myself, glad that it cropped up a few times on nirajp's setlists. I'm a bit concerned about a lack of Starfuckers though...
I suppose Trent doesn't have time to put all of his good songs onto one setlist.

Just listening now.

Survivalism is pretty catchy... and bits of it make me laugh for some reason  Hmm, making my mind up on it. And My Violent Heart is good, although definately sounds like a track that fits in with a concept album, rather than a track on its own.

And yeah, those setlists is pretty damn varied :stunned: I guess the chance of them playing WITT on the date I see them is narrow then :( Student budget and uni location means I can't really go to any other dates, dang.

Okayy after one listen to the new single...It feels like a cross between something that would belong on the fragile and with teeth. It's trying to be dirty but doesn't quite make it. Probably will sound much much better live.

But my god! My Violent heart is phowerrr  Now that's what I want to hear! It's not raw rock but it's very electronicy and goodd

I want the dvd and a hd tv with surround sound cause that would be immense
