I'll only be able to get there late (7-7:30 earliest, most likely), so I'll try to find people inside (as hard as that will no doubt be). :(
I'm actually hauling arse to the O2 for KOL tonight.

I'm going. With my mother. Haha.

I am SO up for Nando's beforehand
Might have to desert during the gig though cause I know a load of other people who are going and want to touch base with a few of them (but I'll probably spend NIN's set on my own because I'm weird like that and can't DO company while watching my favourite bands).
But I'd be very much up for a meatup beforehand :D
Yeah if you want to do the meetup beforehand but then do your own shizzle during the gig that's fine.
Re: finding people...possible idea is to theorise where to stand beforehand. I've never been standing at the O2 before so I wouldn't know where the best spots are. :erm: Any suggestions are welcome.

Eating just before a gig never seems to be a good idea. I find it best to eat a lot a good 4-5 hours before.
You're all pussies. I've eaten loads of times before gigs. If you want, just take try and take a dump before Nando's. At least you then tried to get rid of everything.

That's a good point actually. Come to think of it, whenever I've eaten a lot just before a gig, I've ended up feeling really unwell during.

Last time me and a friend ate before a gig, he threw up. Keeping up my record of being with someone who throws up during a Foo Fighters support band ;)

I just had a random thought and figured I'd ask... and of course I haven't read the whole thread :$
But anyway....
Is there anyone here who used to post on the old nin.com colored room ghetto messageboard like system? :awesome:
I posted there eons ago in the *ahem* yellow room under the username dingbat.
I have fond memories of trying to follow the convo in the crappy format, fighting to be the first person when it flipped, and the vids they put up of fans after the gigs during the fragility tour.... awww funtimes..... :(

I'm sure in a 2 support act gig the opening band would get around 30 mins, then 2nd about 45 mins and the last get well over an hour and bit?
Bless Mew, to be fair that is bloody good line up for a night, I am sad to be missing it.

i suppose it wasnt the actual NINJA tour. but then it was an extension of it... in a fashion, idea is that NIN and Janes Addiction are joint headliners methinks.
what do the tickets say?
NIN plus special guests? or NIN, Janes Addiction and special guests?
it seems the o2 is announcing it as a NIN show, with Janes addiction supporting. Whereas the M.E.N, bills it as Nine inch nails & Janes Addiction.

11pm finish? People catching train home might end up cutting it a bit fine.
I'll probably be leaving a bit early in case the close the tube station when the rush comes.
I'm checking out bus routes back into central London just in case. I think the Clipper is a bit expensive to have to use in an emergency.

7.7.09: New final nin dates!
Getting right to the point, we're going to play a handful of shows in nyc, chicago and la starting august 22nd. They will be informal affairs in medium to small venues with longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises. Upon reflection, the nin/ja tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end nin that way. An offer to headline v-fest in toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some fun shows to end this up with. If we can get it together we'll film these shows, too.
In nyc we'll be playing bowery ballroom, webster hall and terminal 5. In chicago, the aragon ballroom. In la we'll be at the wiltern, the henry fonda, the palladium and the echoplex. These should be cool, unusual and unique shows and i hope you come out - this is it.
So far, the horrors will be joining us for some shows in nyc, mew will be with us at other shows in nyc, chicago and la, and perhaps more.
Details and ticket info will be announced shortly, so check back.
Thanks,
trent

Hate to be doing this, but I have to sell a ticket.
Well, in the past, unused tickets have just sat in a draw or been thrown out. Was looking forward to this but current circumstances, both emotional and financial prove going would not be a good idea.
So, one ticket, Block 110 for sale for £20. Would have sold for face value but considering the block... lol.

Saw them yesterday, as a complete n00b. Only knew about 3 songs. But I was so glad my NIN-obsessed mate made me go - they were fantastic! Seriously one of the best live bands I've ever seen (excluding teh My00ze ofc ;) :D) and Trent seemed to get really into it, despite warnings that he can get proper moody. Will post the setlist once my mate tells me it :p
Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam is a fantastic venue. I sat at the back and I could see everything clearly, didn't miss out at all and came out sans sweat, exhaustion and injury (a guy behind me at the train station was bleeding from the neck  he just seemed pleased lolz). Trent threw his tambourine and apparently the guy that caught it got piled upon and was left crumpled on the floor  :erm:
The support band Mew were fantastic too. Definitely going to download their stuff. Very spiritual and almost profound sounding... I wonder if there's a thread for them on here. If not, :)
It was great lol the woman next to me was a student living in Switzerland, she'd been to see them at Rock Werchter Festival on Sunday, and has even travelled to Australia just to see them! I definitely saw some of her emotional outbursts throughout the gig in me and just imagined me and other boardies getting all emotional in Copenhagen for Muse  *warm fuzzy feelings lol all crazy fans feel the same thing*
I did feel kind of undeserving to be there though because hardcore fans were obviously there that gasped at every song and talked in-stuff... and I was just the casual sat their thinking "yeah, this is good" so Clunge I do feel sorry that you didn't get to go a date as you obviously really like them and know their stuff.
The only letdown of the night: they didn't play The Great Destroyer, my favourite. Only would've been good too. But they did play Hurt which I know is a big favourite of the NIN community.
9/10 :yesey: I has t-shirt :D Wave Goodbye 2009... I was damn lucky to get to see them on their farewell tour, as I know they're considered to be (or rather Trent is) important to "alternative" and industrial music.

And All That Could Have Been. It's a live album but it has tracks from their first four albums (counting the Broken mini album) and a lot of those songs are brilliant, and much better, live (stuff like Head Like A Hole and Terrible Lie).

If anyone wants last minute tickets, this guy (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NINE-INCH-NAILS-O2-15-JLY-STANDING-TICKETS-IN-HAND_W0QQitemZ220449672013QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Ti ckets_Tickets_LE?hash=item3353d30b4d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294 %3A50) has put down his prices I think. There are a few others on eBay as well for just a few quid over face value but I'd be tempted.

I've got two Downward Spirals. Lol.
Aye, I've got the original one and the deluxe edition that came out a while back.
I might see you guise at some point tomorrow, stupid lateness because of work. I can't really ask for time off when I've only been there a week. :(
I'll try to text people who I have numbers for (probably just Gemsy and Max) when I land at the O2.
Olly.

I agree Olly, I'm going to see the setlist tonight and do my homework.

Believe it or not I get confused over which certain songs are on which albums  I've mainly listened to NIN on shuffle so I'm a n00b with their discog

There's nothing to crash. :p Did you get a ticket in the end?
Those wanting to learn NIN in a short space of time should probably listen to these:
March Of The Pigs
Burn
Gave Up
Wish
Survivalism
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole
Hurt
They're probably all going to be played as they are regulars in the set.

Was amazing :D
No surprises in the setlist really but I hadn't seen them so didn't mind. (Though would of liked to of at least seen Starfuckers :()
Was right near the front, getting crushed with no water but was worth it. Burn was particularly immense!
Mew were good, and JA were class, and I didn't really know many of their songs.

Mew - okay, I liked the music but the mastering was off.
Janes Addiction - Incredibly average performance, the mastering was still off and they had their set cut short for some reason, No Jane Says :(.
Nine Inch Nails - Really, really impressed. Nothing overly spectacular, but I think that may have been because of the set list. I didn't have too many qualms with it, but it desperately lacked those special songs (The Great Destroy, Reptile and I would have really liked to see The Wretched). All in all, it was a really enjoyable gig. The only thing I would have asked for was some set list surprises and something a bit more special for the last shows. Bowie cover made me spaff.
There were a lot of stupid greasy mosher types as well ruining the pits with there new rocks. I only got a mosh on for March of the Pigs. Other times I stayed away because I didn't want to get trodden on by those boots, which really should be banned from gigs. They also look shit and make you look shit, along with your shit dyed hair and shit Metallica shirt.

It was superb. Just need more Year Zero and The Slip.
It was superb. Just need more Year Zero and The Slip.
I've braced myself for the lack of Year Zero and The Slip. Not too fussed about not hearing anything from The Slip but I'm annoyed that I never got to see them do some Year Zero stuff when they toured it properly i.e. Reading 2007. :(
EDIT: Also, regarding the setlist, I think it's actually a pretty good one. I think it's a good and fair balance between casual fans and die hards in my opinion.
Well, that was fucking brilliant:D I'm so glad Somewhat Damaged opened things up, that's one of my favourite songs ever.
The whole crowd was really into it, bit disappointed that there wasn't a lot of Year Zero stuff, and nothing off The Slip (really wanted to hear 1,000,000) but all in all I couldn't be happier. Plus La Mer <3  it's just so sad now that I wont be able to see them ever again:(

Yes, you will. Trent's a perfectionist and his voice is probably having trouble, he'll be back in 5 years.

They're not played all the time I think. I was just going through the songs that I am stone cold sure they'll play. I'll be slightly disappointed if there is no Terrible Lie. :(

I'm going by the fact that they probably had a shortened set at t because of all the drama before them, meaning it was probably only dead certs that they played ;)
