I still love Me, I'm Not and most of the NINworld seems to hate that. :(
I like that! It's not the best NIN song but it's still pretty decent. I want to see The Day The Whole World Went Away live again. The music video that's an easter egg on AATCHB is my fav NIN video. Even though Trent hates it for some reason. But what does he know...

Oh, don't know if I've found that on there!?
I know he doesn't like Perfect Drug. I've got the Director's Series DVD with that on, and it's got an interview with Trent saying it looked all gothic and he wasn't convinced because he's not goth at all.

The Perfect Drug video with commentry is on youtube too. Not sure if it's the same video as you have on DVD. He mentions that he don't like the song either 'cos he was "in a bad place". And thats why he will never play it live. :(

Meh. I read an interview where Trent said they rehersed it a few times and Josh Freese actually managed to get through the entire song without his arms falling off but he had no desire to play live in a concert because he feels it would be unfair to the fans for him/them to play a song he has no passion for.
I kinda see his point but PLAY THE DAMN SONG ALREADY!!!
This is a cool video of the perfect drug on rock band. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxZZ3zJ62Pw&feature=related)

I think he's a fantastic bassist, good voice as well. He's certainly more pleasant on the eye than old Geordie. It's a really strong line up.
I've seen some photo's of the Stage, presuming a proper tour comes over the UK trent is really pushing some new boundaries on Visuals. There's a rear video screen, a massive old style lighting rig, and 2 stealth screens one to go infront of Josh and Allesandro, and one to go right in front of the stage.

*Fingers crossed* nin will play in the UK some time soon :D well after all the fricking American dates :(
I'm still a bit divided over Justin. Then again, I need to see more of the older stuff and see how he's performing them. Robin is brilliant though.

:eek: at NIN playing Meet Your Master + The Warning the other night. and In This Twilight could be stunning if done well.
I could live without Vessel + God Given actually.
I really really wish Trent brings this tour to the UK. Ghosts songs + Slip + YZ rarities + epic lightshow = :D
It reminds me how how Europe pretty much missed out on the With Teeth tour (the two documented on the BYIT DVD). Though the Spring 07 tour with varied setlists sort of made up for it I guess, though I only got to one gig - an amazing one at that.
Apparently, Trent is planning to take the tour worldwide. I want him to come over here sooner rather than later, i.e. Autumn.
A gig at Wembley Arena is probably best suited for their mammoth lighting.

Yup sooner the better. Haven't got many gigs lined up this year, so NIN would be something special.
Hmmm Wembley Arena is too big I think. I mean Muse pulled it off, but most bands can't. For example, I saw Dream Theater there and it was mediocre.
Methinks Hammesmith Apollo would be more suitable for better sound/atmosphere. And it's big enough for screens 'cause I saw Tool there in 06 and they brought their full setup (best gig ever BTW)

It won't be Hammersmith Apollo if they do a medium-sized venue. It will be, and shall always be when in London, Brixton Academy.

Personally I think they should play Cardiff CIA. Yes, I do live near Cardiff but thats not really the reason. Cardiff CIA is small for an arena, only holds about 5000 people but it's big enough to put on a lot of video screens and lights like Trent always wants to do.
There a few venues to choose from in London and a few around the rest of the country.

It's certainly wrong for Broken. :noey:
Judging by details I have found online, Hamm Apollo is of comparable (actually slightly greater) capacity than Brixton Academy, so I don't think it can be ruled out entirely.
Plus as another poster said earlier Tool have played there and they had all sorts of screens and lazers and other gubbins. On the last tour QOTSA played both the Apollo and the Academy.

Yea, according to wikipedia the capacities are:

The only thing that annoys me about the brixton academy is the fact that it's on the Victoria line and therefore a pain after the gig is over.

The arena bit apparently is (judging by capacity figures I've been looking at on line), but the foyer, upstairs bar etc seems quite a bit smaller than the Academy's ones. The actually stage and arena bits have always seemed comparable space-wise to me, the main difference striking me being that the Academy's floor seems to have a higher gradient on the slope.
I seriously doubt NIN would have a problem setting up there, judging by what I saw at Tool's gig.

When i first got The Fragile i kept falling asleep by the time i reached Just Like You Imagined (because i would listen to it in bed at night). Couldn't really get into the songs all that well and thought the best tracks were the The Day The World Went Away, We're In This Together, The Fragile and Just Like You Imagined.
But that was something like a year and a half ago, a couple more weeks ofl istening and i ended up loving pretty much the whole first disc and most of the second.
Personal faves off that album now:
Somewhat Damaged
The Wretched
We're In This Together
The Fragile
Just Like You Imagined
No You Don't
La Mer
The Great Below
The Way Out Is Through
Into The Void
Where Is Everybody?
Starfuckers,etc

I find it boring as hell. I mean, I was like :wtf: when I watched BYIT for the first time and was quite surprised - only one song from TF, their best album, and one of the weakest tho?
Honestly, this song has no effect on me, except the guitars right after the breakdown but thats just for some seconds.
Underneath It All, yeah this is serious shit :\mm/: but the last quarter of TF really lacks something VERY impressive, like SD, TDTWWA or TWOIT. Maybe Starfuckers had to be later in the album.

Fair enough, to each his/her own. Personally I think Starfuckers is the poorest song on the album. I just find it a bit meh. It's good. I just find it a bit too "mainsteam" for the lack of a better description, compared to the rest of the album which pushes new boundries. Most of the tracks are experimental where as Starfuckers is just a plain rock song.

I can't stand PHM, it sounds too eighties for me, i can listen to a couple of songs from With Teeth (mainly Everyday Is Exactly The Same and The Hand That Feeds) but it's such a dull album in my opinion.

2. The Downward Spiral
3. Still
4. The Slip
5. Year Zero
WT is average. Yet Sunspots and BYIT rocks my socks!
And PHM is crap, as I've said before, Depeche Mode could have done it better except for HLAH, Terrible Lie and Sin.

I agree that it's aged terribly, but... aww, but... Sin. <3
I must admit I do judge my NIN songs on danceability.
And I still say With Teeth is awesome.
True Sin is awesome. I like PHM personally even if it does sound 80's.
Seeing how everyone is ranking albums I'll go for
1. The Fragile
2. Everything else...
It's weird, i'd consider the Fragile to be one of the hardest albums to get into (by NIN anyway) but it keeps you listening to it so much longer than say, The Downward Spiral. I like TDS but that's mainly for Mr. Self Destruct, Closer, Heresy and Hurt - the rest are alright but i wouldn't say they're anything special.
I think, in what might be a potential pedantic answer, Ghosts is the most difficult album to get into. :p

Speaking of Ghosts, I will listen to all of it every now and again and before they come and tour over here, I imagine I'll listen to some tracks a bit more so I at the very least recognise them...

When they toured the YZ tour America didn't get them. Sad but true: it's American turn now if TR isn't wondering about Europe tour.

Oh I know that America definitely deserve a lot of tour dates to make up for no Year Zero tour but we're just impatient. :p
tell that to the Deftones
Hahah! Actually when I saw them at download they were pretty good, but at their own gig maybe less so.
And I will predictably name my top albums as follows...
The Downward spiral
The Fragile
Broken
And all that could have been/Still
You don't need any of the others ;) Haha
Oh and I agree I don't bother listening to PHM but live the tracks are badass
Oh if we're doing top albums:
The Downward Spiral
The Fragile
Year Zero
(And All That Could Have Been/Still)
Broken
With Teeth
The Slip
Pretty Hate Machine
Ghosts

Personally I have to be in the right mood for ghosts. For some bizzare reason whenever I'm doing some sort of art work, drawing, web design, level editing listening to ghosts helps my mind to wander and come up with ideas and gets my imagination going. Weird I know but thats the affect it has on me.
As for the Slip its a good album. I like it. It's on par with Year Zero for me.

Ah ok, well i'm listening to The Slip now and i don't find it that bad, i agree it's on par with Year Zero when i first listened to that. 'Thing is with Year Zero is i found that alright but nothing special at first but after a few listens it really grew on me (like The Fragile).

I think the Slip is a grower too. Give it a few listens. :)
The Slip up to Head Down is really good stuff. After that I think it loses its way a bit with the quieter stuff.

On a seperate note 'The Wretched' is amazing.

He has posted on NIN website on several occasions where he has sly digs at Microsoft Windows. Plus the laptops he uses on stage are Macs with a custom design to them. I know becuase I was standing about 6 foot away from him last year at Reading when they were playing and I could see it was a Mac just by looking at it.

mostly they use Macs for the lights, but as Rob Sheridan said on ETS they use PC and Windows for Survivalism because there is no Mac programs that can show 3 or 4 things on that screen at the same time. and it always fucks up, lol

Those are ballads??
From what I've heard, I'd say the ballady ones were:
Hurt
Something I Can Never Have
Right Where It Belongs (Version 2 is best imo)
Zero Sum
and maybe The Great Below
They don't really do too many songs like that though from what I've heard.
