It's not. The length of a mp3 has nothing to do with it's quality, and besides that, all the mp3's are 320kbs which is the highest quality possible.

I've got mixed feelings about that track. It's nearly awesome, but just feels as though it's unfinished to me.. and too long. Maybe that's just because it comes after the poor Lights in the Sky though. :erm:
Love the first 6 tracks, and like the last two though.

Well it's each to their own at the end of the day I guess. It's the same with all bands though, the 'older' fans want the music to stay the same. That bores me, personally, and I prefer it when artists, like Trent, try something new and different. As soon as a band/artist runs out of ideas it's time to move on and start playing golf instead of music...

Wow check this out, rather interesting stuff, tis about artwork. From echoingthesound.org:
Alright, check this out.
From the artwork, I decipher the following;
"I BOW TO YOU ? GODLY PIG"
Here is my basis:
999,999 - Look closely, you can see I's and G's
1,000,000 - Rotate the image 90 degrees CCW. It's a P
Letting You - Easily can be seen as L and Y
Discipline - Obviously a D
Echoplex - The red line circles an O
Head Down - Take a step back from your computer and have a look. it is a G
Lights In The Sky - ?? help.
Corona Radiata - the bottom outlines on the circle and the red line create a Y. the circle in the middle is an O, and then rotate 180 degrees and you have a U on the long side of the outline
The Four Of Us Are Dying - T's and O's
Demon Seed - Rotate image 90 degrees CW. It reads BOW
And of course the extra I in niin in the copyright - I
Now take those letters and read them in reverse order. It is likely horribly incorrect, but maybe a basis for you super sleuths.
Cheers,
Hoyt
wow cool!
I would say the Light in the Sky one is just O,
like "I bow to you, o Godly pig!"
good find!

It was the line "I've still got my one good arm that I can beat MMMNRRRGGH I can beat myself up with" that made me listen to with teeth all the way through to find out what song it was that had that line in

With teeth is awesome. It's subte, smooth and modern, he has produced way cheesier albums before, though of course they were equally as excellent.

Hi
I recently got TDS, liked almost all of it, particularly (apart from the obvious) Ruiner, Reptile, and the title track (didn't like The Becoming, because it scares me, or IDNWT, because it's a little dull).
Also downloaded The Slip. Most of was good, but i'm still not particularly fond of the last 3 tracks.
Mostly wondering which album(s) I should get next.

Well it depends on your musical taste. Personally I would say get the Fragile, NIN's best album imo, but most NIN fans (especially Inn :p) will say get broken.

Firstly, download The Slip, since it's free and all that. I think it's a decent representation of what Trent has done since With Teeth.
As for other songs before With Teeth, I would recommend the live album they have out - a good mix of all the four previous albums.

Was thinking the other day though about all the NIN tours. If you could see any tour from NIN's history what would it be and why? For me it would either be the Fragile 1.0/2.0 because The Fragile is my favourite NIN album and the support was A Perfect Circle. Plus I want to see La Mer played live. Or I would pick the tour with David Bowie. Trent and Bowie doing a duet of Hurt...Awesome...

As of yet there isn't one planned. I would imagine there will be one in the near future and I'm waiting until Trent and co. announce something before I book my leave from work...I'm such a sad person.
 I really have to see them, I missed there last tour :(
Just had an e-mail from Amazon saying that I won't get The Slip until a week later "as the release date for the item listed below was changed by the supplier". Is that confirmation of a widespread UK delay?

I've had the same email so I guess so. Now that the limited edition has been changed to 250,000 worldwide and not just limited to the US do you think they have had more pre-orders than copies availible?

I've just checked Play.com and they've pushed it back too. Must be a delay.
That's a very good question. Personally, I would have thought no but you never know. All I want anyway is just a physical copy of the CD so I'm just thinking at the moment that I'd be lucky to get the special edition, given the vague item description by Amazon.

There are only two versions being sold. The CD version and the vinyl version. The CD is limited to 250,000 copies world wide but the vinyl is just being sold as normal as far as I know.

I too got the email from Amazon about the delay. I too am wondering if they will be able to fulfil the pre-orders. Boo. :(

Maybe Trent is on the no-fly list?
The North American tour goes on until October, though, so even if they have plans for a European tour, there's no need to put tickets on sale this far in advance.

There will probably be a European tour some time next year I would imagine. Well I hope there is anyway.
